Olan's thoughts for this strip:
After much adieu, here is the first full strip colored by me. IT certainly lacks the finesse that Lyra brings to the table, but I think that it gets the job done - and I promise to keep working to improve my skills. The huge plus side, of course, is that having me color the strips should save enough time that Lyra can get back to two strips per week. I think that we can all deal with some inferior shading if we get more Loaded Dice, right?

Anyway...

Aranion is saved by an arbitrary entry on the monster's stat block (he flees if dealt X damage)... well, that, and a rare flash of generosity by Steve. Don't expect that to happen often.

Also, don't forget that you can keep up with Loaded Dice by becoming a fan on facebook or by following us on twitter.

Script for this strip:
Steve (narrator): "Aranion is down, with the ice haunt standing above his helpless, frozen form. It will take the rest of the party one more round to close to melee range."

Brad: "So, my guy will get killed before the others can get there?"

Ray: "Told you to wait, mister hero."

Rich: "Yep... looks like that was a grave decision."

Brad :"Do you ever stop?"

Ray: "I dunno... I thought that one was pretty funny."
Brad: "Only because it's not your character who's about to die!"
Ray: "Exactly."

Amy: "Hush, guys. Steve, can Dalana make a shot from here and hit the bad guy?"

Steve: "It will be really tough. It's pretty dark, plus she'll have to shoot through a doorway, plus Faustus and Ladan are in the line of fire."

Tim: "Amateurs. Steve, I've got this."

Steve (narrator): "The magical energy slams into the ice haunt, staggering him for a moment. Before the others can arrive, he turns and flees into the darkness."

Brad (happy): "All right!"

Tim: "You're welcome. Saving you was a blast!"
Ray: "Groan!"
Steve: "Ugh!"
Amy: "Not you, too!"
