I figure, crowbar = heavier + bulky = needs more tape to hold. So you need to peel/cut.

Works for me, Meri. Don't try to quick draw the crowbar in a fight, but I see no reason you couldn't carry it that way.
When you all get a chance, I'd appreciate it if you could all send me PMs with your character's complete inventory. Unless I have nixed something, you should be able to have any item you want from the two stores - but I want to be sure that we're all on the same page.

Clothing is going to be a pretty much no-go. They have work gloves in several varieties, and they have clear plastic coveralls (for painting), but no actual clothing. No shoes, no boots, either. Sorry, guys.
Amber can get an axe or a hatchet. Note that she *is* plenty strong enough to effectively use an axe. Yes, she might get tired swinging it a lot, but it's available and usable. Let me know which you want.

Now hear this: Ace is a small neighborhood harware store. Expect to find common tools and utensils here. Do not expect to find everything you might locate at, say, a Home Depot or a Lowes.
Send me your "shopping lists", I'll let you know if anything you desire cannot be found here.

Topic: Zombies in Chicago Subject: one down...
October 26, 2014
Ace Hardware - 1:20 PM
As the rest of the survivors went through the motions of gathering medical supplies, Jake fumed. He was angry at himself for allowing that thing to bite him... and angry at the others for letting it. He'd stepped up to protect Mac, and what had it gotten him? Possible death? Becoming one of the howling monsters?
A favorite statement of his father's echoed in Jake's mind. No good deed goes unpunsihed, boy. Jake had never really understood that before, but now, it seemed crystal clear.
Mac, apprently feeling guilty, handed Jake his revolver and asked the young man to keep an eye on the front of the store while the rest of them scavenged. Jake shivered as he accepted the gun... it was freezing in this store! Why did they keep drug stores so cold, anyway? For a brief instant, he considered placing a round into the back of Mac's head; if he was going to die, it was only fair the the bounty hunter die, too.
Right?
Nervously, Jake turned away to keep an eye on the front door, then wiped the sweat from his brow. For the love of God, it was hot in here! He couldn't believe how stuffy the store had gotten, since it wasn't even hot outside...
*************************
The rest of the party grabbed medical supplies, beverages, and the odd hygene items. Emily found the Augmentin she was looking for, added a little bottled water, and injected herself intravenously with a grimace. At least she wouldn't die of pneumonia.
*************************
With everyone ready to move, the survivors re-entered the street and slid down a couple of doors tothe Ace Hardware. Like the Save Rite, the front door was unlocked; a quick sweep indicates that there are no other occupants in the store.
Also much like the Save Rite, this store appears almost untouched, with few signs of serious looting. Interestingly, the cash register has been pryed open - as if paper money will be particularly useful in a time like this.
Jake mumbles something about finding a better weapon, something to keep those #*#$ers farther away from him next time, and strides away from the rest of the group.

Since I haven't heard a real plan otherwise, I'm going to have the party move to the hardware store next. I will point out that you need to address the food issue somehow - either by raiding Treasure Island, moving on to the other grocery store, discussing the isue with Steve, whatever.
Remember, you guys left the basement due to hunger, first and foremost.

Glad you weren't asking for an entire inventory... but your shipping list contained a lot of stuff that I thought I was pretty clear would not be found here at Save Rite.

I made an in-game post as to what the drugstore contains. Please refer to said post. Use that to figure it out. I am certainly not posting the entire inventory of this store for your perusal.
What would be a lot more effective is for you to use my post as a guideline, then either PM me a "shopping list", or post it here on the Q&A. If your character is looking for something that is not in stock, I'll let you know.

Topic: Zombies in Chicago Q&A Subject: take a note...
Okay, guys - in 2012, Chicago followed Boston and other cities in banning cigarette sales from drug stores. They have regular, small lighters here, but no zippo, no fluid, and no cigs/tobacco of any kind.
Also... even if, for some reason, you decide that you can't be bothered to read everyone else's posts (I have no idea why on earth you'd play if you don't want to read posts by others), you need to be sure to READ THE POSTS BY THE GM. I very clearly answered the backpack question in my post.
I understand that people make mistakes, that you can miss things, and this is fine - but I hope that you realize that ignoring details from the GM in a horror game is ignoring potentially life saving information at YOUR OWN PERIL.
I've seen several posts now from players complaining that they can't be bothered to keep up with what is going on. I gotta say, this cheeses me off pretty seriously. It's pretty much the unwritten contract that yes, you post at least the minimum number of times, but that you also agree to keep up with the game. Twlling me that you can't be bothered is akin to telling me "I fell like becoming zombie chow."
Just so you know.
Might be wiser to post that you are a bit behind, but that you'll catch up before your next post. And also very wise to READ THE GM'S POSTS.
Just sayin'.
Also, an aside: Erideth, don't mention Trek, please. I've been feeling the tich lately, and Trek never works out for me!

This is a tiny little independent neighborhood pharmacy - check with me before you assume something is there. They have drugs, they have a few healthcare essentials, they have a small assortment of retail stuff - but not much beyond what I described in the post.
There are walgreens around, but you guys need to go to one if you want their level of selection.
