Druid works for me!

Lots of posted interest, but no character sheets have been sent to me!

I have confirmed the two positions I mentioned before - sylvari male ranger, sylvari female bladesinger. That's two warrior types. We still need a mage and a cleric, at the least.

This is awesome, peoples. Great to see the response!

We are now full.

Sylvari female bladesinger (Vanadia)
Sylvari male paladin of Oriana (Tann'Talas)
Half orc male warrior (Jozan1)
Human male mage (ziklag)
Half sylvari male druid (Admiral)

Thanks to everyone else who showed interest; we have simply run out of slots.

I'll adjust the game a bit, then. 3rd level characters (4th for rogues). If you are thinking of a multiclass, run it by me for the exact level.

I am open to kits, but I must approve anything not out of the core books. I do like variety and imagination.

So, I guess you could say: I take everything on a case by case basis.

Greetz, one and all!

Since the demise of the games I was participating in - largely due to my own dissapearance, I know - I find myself needing a new game to run. And so, I am now actively seeking players for a new 2nd edition D&D game set in my own world of Audalis.

What's that you say? You don't know anything about Audalis, or about 2nd edition D&D? Not to worry. We have a ton of Audalis info here on the site... though to be quite honest, it won't impact you that much if you don't want to learn about the setting. As for 2nd edition D&D, have no fear - I'll be glad to help you with your character, if you need it. Bottom line is that you need a desire to play a character - the rule stuff will take care of itself.

Here's the basics: I'm looking for 4-5 characters of 3rd level. While any alignment, race, and/or class is technically okay, please note that I strongly prefer good or neutral characters. If you wish to be evil, you need to still be able to be part of a team; I have no desire to moderate intraparty combat.

Stats should be rolled using the 4d6, drop low die, arrange to taste method (if you don't know what this means, ask me - I'll help!). Use the Red Dragon Character Sheet (located in the vault) for your characters, please. Feel free to add all needed typical nonmagic equipment for your character (armor up to chain, a weapon plus a backup weapon, assorted side items, etc). I will give you your cash totals.

I reserve the right to refuse characters that are too powerful (suuuure you rolled two 18s, two 17s, and a low of 11 for your charisma score!), and similarly reserve the right to make slight adjustments of any sort to stats as I see fit. Do note, however, that your characters are potential heroes, so I expect them to be a cut above the average person, ability-wise.

Also, please note that I have granted right of first refusal for those in my defunct Ripples of the Past game.

I would like to get two posts per player, per week - a minimum of one post per week is required. You need not write novelas as your posts, but please note that the following is NOT a good post.
Yarg hates orcs. As soon as he sees them, he attacks.

Everyone should be able to muster two to three short paragraphs as a typical post. If this is too much, you probably won't enjoy my game.

Mages! The Tides of Magic are in full effect (see Audalis documentation for details). Clerics! Please be sure to select an appropriate Audalisian deity for your character. It would not hurt to choose a particular sect for your cleric, if applicable, though this is not strictly required.

Our game will be set in the southern area of the Taskarren Coast, almost to Macoran Bay - in other words, in lands usually considered to be, by and large - wilds. The party members will know one another, though as to how well is up in the air.

Any further questions, please ask. We'll start as soon as we have a full group.

Saw both Pirates and Shrek this weekend.

Green guy was a lot of fun, pretty much what you'd expect.

Pirates.

Enjoyed the heck out of the film, which, I suppose, is the point of movies. Great effects, storyline kept going and going. Answered a lot of questions, but threw in some extra stuff that just wasn't needed.

Did anyone else see the purpose in the Calypso angle? They spent so much time on it, only to have what felt like (to me) no real resolution at all. Why even bring it in? I didn't think it changed anything one iota.

I do have to give it to them, nice twist at the end. I wasn't expecting it, and I can usually see these things way before they happen.

The first is still my favorite - the novelty was great - but I have enjoyed all three. If they decide to do number four (which the left the door open for), I'll be there on opening weekend again, once more wearing my pirate bandana.

Yep - I wore a pirate bandana, as did my daughter. My son wore a pirate hat and a hook on his hand. Only Donna was too cool to dress up at least a bit.

Geez, the common room is dead! Here's a subject, talk amongst yourselves...

I saw Spider Man 3 a couple of weeks ago. My take: superb movie. I have since read quite a few complaints (movie has too many subplots, Mary Jane isn't involved enough, Peter dancing and playing piano is stupid, etc), and I have to wonder... were they watching the same movie I was? This *is* a summer comic book movie, after all. IMHO, the franchise has improved with each film.

Going to see the new Pirates this weekend. Major big expectations here...

Subject: dawning for the knight

Arien awakens to a piercing headache and a severe case of cottonmouth - and with no memory of partaking excessively of strong spirits, he is temporarily confused. The next few moments are even more confusing, as strange images (memories?) push their way into his consciousness. A terribly malevolent - defintiely feminine - presence. Gossamer? What is a Gossamer?

Alloryn! She is here, and in danger! Gossamer - the Green Goddess - is here, as well... is inside of Alloryen. Gossamer had forced herself into Arien, but his twin had somehow pulled the entity within herself... to save me, the knight marvelled.

Something had to be done, and now. This evil spirit, whatever it was, certainly had to be tied to the presence of the Imperials... Arien was not so foolish as to think that Ally had simply happened to be possessed while under the tender care of the Imperials. Why they would want to do this was beyond his understanding or concern. All that mattered was helping his twin.

The knight sat up, dislodging an indignant Sunset, and thus earning himself an intense craving for spicy sausages. He had no time for this, though, and quickly regained his feet, angrily reaching for his blade... which was not there. Jarred, Arien began to pay attention to his surroundings, and heard what sounded very like the sounds of mortal combat from nearby. His friends! They would need him.

First, the immediate danger, next, to assist Alloryen.

Arien will look for his sword (which is hopefully nearby) as he moves to the next room. Standard tactics apply - help anyone who obviously needs it; if none, then find the biggest, ugliest bad guy and repeatedly insert five handspans of flaming steel into its carcass until it stops moving.

Arien stared at Adrian for a moment as if the mage had grown a second, evil head. The knight himself had quite the reputation as a fervent acolyte of the complex strategem known as the frontal assault, but to ignore - and worse, insult - the obvious value of enhancing the abilities of one's scouts was almost suicidally foolhardy.

"Adrian," the knight began, hoping to keep his voice level, "masking our scouts by use of magic is neither foolhardly nor cowardly. If I waltz up to an enemy castle's wall and demand to be admitted, can I blame them for dousing me in burning pitch?"

The absurdity of this argument is not lost on the heir of House Thedell. "If a diversion is needed, it is good that you can create one, there is no doubt of that - such skills will doubtless prove useful in the coming encounter. By why lauch a diversion of any sort right now, and thus alert our enemies to our presence, when we can simply spy out their positions, hopefully undetected?"

Ye gods! the knight groans inwardly. Am I the voice of caution? Alloryen would never let me live this down!

Another day of mostly silent riding had passed. The night before had been awkward, to say the least - Jal has shared what was obviously a very personal tale of his past, and had explained once and for all why he was always babbling on about winter, and where much of his "Second sight" came from. Arien felt bad for the mage, and felt bad for snapping out at his companions, as well. The words had needed to be spoken, but he probably could have been more diplomatic about it.

While others might have been concerned a bit about Jal's tale, if anything, it made Arien feel more at ease with the man. After the things he had personally seen, the knight had no real problem accepting that some could speak with the dead. If that was how Jal fit with the world, so be it.

Far more troubling to Arien ws the need to remove his armor during the journey. Alloryen had joked that he would sleep in it if he could, and the knight knew she was probably right. Without it, he felt naked and exposed, but such was the necessity of their trip.

Once they had reached the end of the journey, Char volunteered himself and Dapple to scout the area. Arien nodded in agreement. "Should one of the mages put an enchantment on you?" he asked. "I would think that making you harder to see or hear would be beneficial."
