Topic: The Return of the Prodigal Son
Subject: Time is crucial

Lyra was beautiful, there was no doubt about that, she even looked like a fighter of sorts who may be capable of joining the cause. The young lady's voice could be compared to the singing of angels. Each word flew flawlessly from her mouth and seemed selected with perfect care. Only three people chose to speak at that time. The first from the woman who decided on taking the hawk. The woman inquired about how to take care of the talented bird, yet it was obvious that she expected this question for she had answered it before the others even though of anything to say.

"What is her favorite food?" Ash goes on asking about the care of this particular bird, as all birds were different.

"she can fend for herself when it comes to surviving. When she comes to us to let us know what is needed from the town, I will gather it personally and have her deliver your reply and send forth means for the items to reach you. Nessa here is a wonderful pet, you need but call her and she will be there. Sometimes she will perch on your arm, but for the most part she will fly overhead and keep watch for you.

Lyra was careful with the words she chose to use towards the party. A smile on her lips as she kissed the falcon softly and after chirping something to the bird, it crawled over onto Ash's arm to perch. The hawk was beautiful beyond doubt and it was known that this bird was very rare in these parts of the world. The young lady smiled to the member of the group as they stood in front of her chatting with each other, whispering or talking under their breath for only themselves to hear.

"I would certainly like t know who has gathered us together. What qualifications they are seeking, and what do they know about this venture beside the rumors and tales?"

The only thing I can tell you that might help you is that the man who has gathered you is an old man whose friend was taken a few nights prior to the signs being posted. He hopes that everyone here is going to be ready to face whatever it is that is stealing our homeless people from us. There isn't much known to anyone about what lies beyond the city. We fear that they may have taken them to those mountains yonder.

Lyra pointed to the faint image of the mountains over the horizon and shook her head. The sight was a beautiful one to behold, but she feared what might roam outside the city limits. Since the first disappearances, there were whispers that creatures began flooding the empty spaces outside the city.

"And who in the city will be receiving our messages?"
"We are all interested in this mission, but know little of what is required. When and where might we expect to hear more about this mission?"

Turning to the sound of the voice she nodded slightly and to show she understood the questions and concerns being voices. The woman had to be careful answering his questions, for she gave her word she wouldn't reveal anything else to them. Without hesitation however she answered the questions.
"Your messages will be coming to me so I can gather the supplies you need and send them to you as I see fit. I would accompany you but I must take care of somebody that is close to me, their health is failing them. Nobody knows anything more than that the beggars have been disappearing and that we need to find them. Homeless or not, they are still an important part of our community. Fathers, brothers, sisters, mothers, uncles, aunts, cousins, you name it and we can promise you at least one has disappeared from the streets since this ordeal has happened. I will personally ensure you have food and shelter for this trip. I don't know how long it will take to figure out what has happened and send the news to us, or you may deliver it personally if it doesn't take too long to figure out what has happened, and perhaps bring them back, if they are not dead."

Lyra pulled out a scroll case, parchment paper, ink and a quill from her pack. She handed them to Ash so they could write the supplies they needed on the parchment and send it into town for her to pick up. The woman turned to watch as the red circle was almost completely in the sky, and she spoke "time is crucial. The longer we wait, the more go missing. If there are no questions, please carry on. I have other things to do before I return to my ailing father. Falling silent she waited to find out if there were more questions to be answered or if they would finally leave on their journey.

I always do a virus scan and all that type of stuff when I get a computer. I couldn't actually do any of what you suggested in your first post because I wasn't at home. I can't actually attempt fixing it again until tomorrow. It'll be my first day off work in 6 days. I got some things I need cleared up at work today. It is a holiday here, and I'm working 5 hours, I'm making 60 bucks today. Unless they ask me to stay late. Which i hope they don't cause they had me stay late two days in a row, I don't want it to be 3.

I've been a busy bee. Was going to post before going to work today, but that only gives me half an hour cause the boss called to see about me getting ANOTHER 8 hour instead of a 5 hour. I'm working 9:30 - 6:00 today, then hopefully still getting picked up afterwards to change and such, then go with my boyfriends best friend and my best friend to go out to windsor or something to drop his daughter off, and then going to his place to do his taxes. I might be able to do it while doing his taxes or after his taxes. We'll see what happens.

I'm REALLY sorry for the delay of game all, the boss must love me, cause he's giving me as many hours as I can legally have as a part time employee. I guess they like me as a worker, but either way, I'll try my hardest to post something today/tonight.

Welcome to the site always great to have new members. I look forward to sharing a game with both you and your wife. Right now wouldn't be that great a time for me to join a new game though. I have too much on my plate as it is right now.

Anyways, welcome to the in, hopefully once you've been here a couple weeks you'll start voting for the inn on a regular basis.

I tried plugging a USB keyboard in and it worked in BIOS but not in windows itself. The actual keyboard it came with, the mouse attached on the keyboard, doesn't work at all...I do not know what i did, but somehow I managed to get the mouse part of the keyboard working, but not the keyboard itself...I just downloaded AVG free version 8.0, going to see if it detects any viruses or worms, or malware of any sort.

I'm a step ahead of you, I've already tried putting this keyboard on that computer and it won't work, so I might just reformat if I can't tweak it...about to download anti-virus and have it run a scan and all sorts of other things while I'm at work

My dad bought a computer at a yard sale, and it works decently, the only problem is the keyboard. It won't pick up keyboards past the setup part, i can use this keyboard to get to the set up, but after set up it doesn't work, can anyone help me figure that out? The sooner i can find how to change it in setup the easier it would be...I have no long distance anywhere in Canada or continental U.S, so if you think you can help, it would be easier over the phone, but remember that I'm working until 10:30 pm Eastern Time. Send me a pm with your number and if i can call when i get home. It probably will be just before 11pm by the time i get in and on the computer.

I'll try working on my post, but doubt much will be posted today, because yeah, I'm not at home, so don't have much time on here, as it stands, I've got computer problems at home. dad bought a computer from a yard sale and right now I am having issues with it. It won't detect the keyboard, but earlier it did, and it isn't detecting the built in mouse either.

Topic: The Chakran Portal - an Adventure in Audalis
Subject: a long night.

Alyssia had followed Draven to the house and helped him rid it of the empty corpses. Pain shot through her body at all the death she had witnessed in the past couple days. Yet she didn't show the man she loved the pain she felt deep inside her.

Draven had bathed while she fixed themselves some supper and she spoke to the man. Her Goddess had spoken to her that night, and she was trying anew to convert Draven to follow her goddess. Yet he wasn't convinced.

Just before dawn, Alyssia left Draven without a word, in the solitude of the house they had together cleared. As the red sun began its ascent the woman walked down the empty roads lost in though, as she grieved for all who were lost. Prayer after prayer, she kept her gaze low as she stopped in front of each house and standing in the door way she would mourn for those who had once resided in such a place.

Geim hadn’t planned letting loose like this. Oh, he had something to say to them, but it came out now in a rush of words, that surged out of his mouth.

“Seems us Khords and this one young Sylvari lass were the only ones to take care of the dead. Did you hire us to do this job and somehow I missed knowing about it? His eyes went to Draven, Malius, and Alyssia."

“Draven, one can never count of you unless whatever it is pleases you. I expected no more. It seems common sense have deserted you as well."

Geim rounds on Malius next, her heated words unstopped. "But you Malius, I expected more from you. These were your people and you disappeared and left the whole burden on a young lass who cried her eyes out silently every time she had to pick up a child and carry them out to the wagon. She took time for find each one a toy and wrapped whatever it was up in blankets with them. You should have been there, they were your people.”

Geim was just winding up and the words flowed hot and hard, but he did not care. “And you Alyssia, where were you during all of this? "Alyssia. you use to be a sensible lass and a real trooper. What made you so special that you did not think you needed to help."

All three of you off on your own pursuits with never a thought for the rest of us left taking care of everything.”

“It fair shakes my faith in each of you and I’d just as soon continue on without ye than with ye.” Geim paused then. It needed saying and right now he did not care how it came out.

“Now I am going in and getting a drink perhaps several drinks then eat and rest, and those of you who did not help can get going to wherever you want.”

Loda, Throndrek, Lassy you need to rest and eat too. I fix us something up for us all." Geim did not look back at the other three who had absented themselves from the collection and burial of the bodies of all those in Hith Elee.

"Come inside all of ye. she gestures to the Khorda and the Bladesinger and turned his back on the others.

Geim had exploded on Draven, Marius and herself. She hated him for it, and after Geim had exploded on them, she didn't hesitate to explain why she had disappeared. Her eyes flashed towards the man and she spoke firmly towards the man who accused her of not playing her part.

"Geim, I would have helped, but my Goddess wished other things of me, once that was complete I wandered the streets mourning and praying for the loss of this city. In prayer I do not wish to be disturbed. My Goddess has other plans for me than what you think is right Geim."

Had he not just blown up against Draven she would have been in an even better mood, but testing both she herself, and Draven was a big mistake. Saying the words he had, without thought upon to whom he had spoken such words. She shook her head as they walked away wondering if Draven would spare his life for speaking those stinging words or not.

Alyssia had been occupied all night watching over Draven to ensure that he stayed out of trouble, and then once he would return to the others, she knew she could roam the streets mourning and praying for the lost souls of the ruined city.

Topic: The Chakran Portal - an Adventure in Audalis
Subject: from a distance...

Since the battle Alyssia seemed distant to everyone as if her thoughts robbed her from the world they knew. From a distance she followed her companions to the town. Disgust showed in her features yet she spoke no words to anyone, even if anyone addressed her the entire journey she was detached from reality.

The woman's thought swirled about the things she wished she could have voiced to the man she loved. The day passed slowly for her, and the thoughts threatened to pass into words, but she held back. Listening to the chatter from her comrades she would nod occasionally or shake her head, but it was almost as if that morning she had woken as a mute. She had not uttered a single word the entire trip to the town.

The woman sometimes wondered if anyone would inquire about the mark on his chest, but mainly worried about the things that weren't addressed. What were they saying behind their backs? Did the rest of the group feel that the pair of them were simply outcasts? She wondered much the past fortnight but kept her thoughts to herself. Her gaze spotted everything, and her memory would note the things she thought important in the city, certain markings that lay about, and the manner the corpses were found.

Alyssia listened to her heart as Draven walked away from the group. Without hesitation she followed her love to a house and helped him cleanse it of the filth that was left behind. While Draven was in the bath she searched to see if there was any edible food to cook for when he was out of the shower. The woman hadn't even spoken a word to her love, which he would surely find odd. She always spoke to him when they were alone, and yet she hadn't even muttered a sound. Should he speak however, she would leak her thoughts to him.

Fear filled her heart, anxiety, wonder, and amazement all compressed in her heart, and no matter the strange feelings, she couldn't help but love Draven completely.
