The half-drow watched Aleya pull a knife on one of her new companions. It was a show of dominance and leadership in the group, and it was well played. The halfling had stopped blabbering as soon as the knife found it's mark against his neck. It was a warning not only to the halfling who had the blade at his neck, but to the rest of the companions as well. They would be moulded into veteran soldiers before the end of their service, of that she was certain. They had a lot of things to learn from each other, and from their leaders.

Triana listened to the rough speech of the orc as he spoke to the group. He was stating the same thing she had already concluded, he was their guide not their leader. A leader would lead them into battle, a guide would hide behind them unless forced to fight. The group assigned to the mission were Paagdish's burden, he was not pleased to have them, but he would have to ensure they succeeded on their mission. The woman did not expect much help from him, and would have to keep on guard if she intended on surviving her mission and making their Leader proud. Triana would have to remember her first rule about living, that there will be no others who will protect you even if you are all on the same side, expect a knife in your back.

In that moment the Orc decided it was time to head out, and she quickly set herself to follow his path. They did not march far before being called to a Halt, turning to see what orders Aleya might have perhaps forgotten to include she saw a figure running into the clearing. A beautiful creature it was indeed, it had the appearance of both a human and a large black cat, she had heard of these people, but it was the first she had seen. Every more was graceful, it could put elves to shame, but like the rest of them here, he would be an outcast of some sort to the rest of society because he was not a pure breed of any kind. Triana had filed away the name she had used for the creature for later reference should there be any issues.

The Cleric had watched as Aleya and Tyrael had taken off down a path to the North, a soft sigh escaping her lips. The half-drow offered a quick prayer for his safety and that of their new leader on their journey and she turned and followed the Orc, subconscious about those around her. The Cleric did not follow too close, and ensured she was not going to be followed too closely. She found herself a spot in the middle of the line following Paagdish however her senses alerted her they were indeed not alone. It sounded as if a donkey were nearby and she stopped in her tracks closing her eyes she listened to the sounds around her trying to determine the direction of the creature.

It did not take long for Triana to raise her concern "Listen, I hear something. If that is indeed a donkey, we could use it on our travels, to carry equipment, or food, anything to lighten our load, and increase our alertness. I think we should find the donkey before we head out to Maple Ridge. If we are forced to take the mountain path, they are more sure footed than we would be with our packs." the woman fell silent but did not continue to move forward, as she was trying to discern which direction the sound of the donkey had been heard. It would be an asset for their journey if they had an animal to carry anything extra they might need, for she knew it would be a difficult journey and they would do well to use any advantage thrown their way.

I decided to leave for a while because obviously I'm not allowed to voice my own thoughts and opinions on the thread. I may or may not return,

sorry to anyone who has a game I'm participating in, but I dont' want to be involved somewhere I'm not allowed to voice my thoughts and opinions.

I'm sorry but I couldn't possibly live underground, it's so gloomy! I'd feel like I were a bear, in constant hibernation! It's also why I generally avoid drow as well...I usually choose the wild elf or something that lives in forest areas.

Humans do not belong in ficton, so I rarely ever play a human.

Rats...hmm I vote we use the statues to our advantage lol! Doubt it would make a difference, but we need to find a way to send heat towards those rats. All references I have ever seen in movies say rats always run AWAY from the heat of a fire....

As for the Were-Rats, keep your wits about you crew! *laughs*

I wish I could find myself a group to game with, but lots of stuff going on. I think if I owned the books about what stats go with what type of character, I could play anything. That is why I depend on character generators to build my characters for me, because it tells me based on my roll what is the best solutions. I enjoy building characters, but don't know enough about the races to choose anything other than elf, even on online games I generally choose elf.

Revlan had raced out into the tunnel and Peryl had followed after him, which in turn forced the knight to take up third rank down the passage. The elf stayed close to the healer to keep her protected against danger. As a light around the corner caught their eyes, they proceeded to the end of the hallway into a large room.

The Knight did a quick scan of the room searching high and low for possible enemies lurking in the shadows. Steps filled the the elegance of somebody trained in battle she stood beside the cleric glancing at everything as Willow followed them through the tunnel she didn't bother looking behind her.

Four figures stepped out from behind the beautiful statues, but they were not the four people they had been chasing. Standing before them were 4 Were-Rats, which only meant one thing, the sounds from the walls, were rats coming to the call of their masters. Drawing in a deep breath Amariel withdrew her scimitar and placed herself in front of the cleric Peryl to protect her from the Were-Rats.

Her voice rang out above the squeaking sound of the rats "Protect the cleric!" hoping that Revlan and Willow would step closer to the cleric to protect her from the rats filtering in behind them, and the Were-Rats before them. The knight mumbled a prayer inaudibly to those around her, before setting her stand for battle.

EDITED VERSION:

Depending on the dice and what the party has/needs. I find a lot of people enjoy playing fighters, but most don't like playing spell casters.

I have no problem playing male characters, female characters, animals.

I will usually play whatever the group needs to stay balanced, tis why I normally choose my character last when possible. I try to balance out the group, if its mostly females then I'll choose male character.

Subject: two reasons...

The previous post I had my weapon at the ready, and did not post that I put it away. Second reason, didnt think there would be enough room to fight with a sword inside the confine of the cave since two members couldn`t fit into the cave as it is. Besides, being a knight, I should know at least basic fighting skills without weapon if I come close in confined areas.

I`ll try to figure something out to post on wednesday since I am not working at all wednesday. Have the ultrasound in the morning, and then home the rest of the day after that.

by the way GREAT post Hammer!

Subject: The Cleric

Triana was being charmed by Tyrael, but unfortunately he had duties elsewhere before he could join up with them at Maple Ridge. A smile flashed across her lips as he complimented her every time he spoke with her. The woman had lived alone, being outcast from both the drow and human communities for being a half-breed. The Cleric had taught herself to defend herself, but now she would be forced to work with others and she was going to be quiet unless spoken to directly.

The half-drow nodded towards Aleya`s reply to her question about the mission and then glanced towards Tyrael a smile quickly finding her lips. His words were an inspiration for the Cleric to ensure she would reach her destination alive.
Triana filed away the information exchanged between her new companions and their employer. Their destination would be a Dwarven town north of the mountains and it might possibly take them a month or longer to reach the city, but the mission would be accomplished and she would survive. She had to survive in order to see the Paladin again. Tyrael would inspire her to greatness along their mission, but it would be a challenge to force herself to work with these companions. In her years she had learned not to trust anyone, she had been betrayed by people she thought she could trust since she was a child.

Paagdish spoke to them and she nodded to his words waiting for the final decision to march out, though she was trying to plan out their best possible path. The first stop they would have the chance to gather supplies before heading north.

In the corner of her eyes she caught the Paladin glancing her way and smiles as their eyes met. He had rough hands but he was a real sweet talker, and she was quickly warming up to the idea that perhaps when the mission was over they would get the chance to grab a drink together and see if his virtues remained the same while drinking. Tyrael’s lips brushed her fingertips before returning to his mount and heading out to wait for Aleya to escort her back to their own mission. A smile found her lips as she watched him move back to his horse and then returned her attention to Paagdish.

Amariel decided her task during this mission would be to protect the healer from danger. The woman stayed behind Peryl in the procession smiling towards their destination, she would be a woman of few words. Calmly she followed the rest of the group down the tunnel keeping her senses about her. Occasionally looking over her should to see if they were being followed.
