Subject: Triana

The Cleric stood at attention listening to the words exchanged between Aleya and the Orc who would accompany them. They were not there long, and yes they would be considered raw recruits, but she wished they would not have spoken the words aloud.

A smile found her lips as she watched the paladin approach and speak so sweetly to her. It was the first time anyone had spoken to her in a positive light and it made her heart skip a beat. Triana allowed her eyes to meet Tyrael`s eyes yet she kept her words swift as to not delay their departure.

"A pleasure Tyrael, my name is Triana, perhaps you have leave to join us on our quest"

She smiled while holding his gaze a few moments longer before turning her attention back to Aleya and Paagdish. The smile disappeared as she went back into business mode and had to ask a question before embarking on the journey.

"My Lady, Do you wish for us to take control of Maple Ridge and await for your troops to relieve us, or do you wish we rid them of the wrongdoers and return?"

The woman glanced towards the paladin again and blushed slightly, however thanks to her gray skin, it would be difficult to notice that she was so taken by the man. He was breath-takingly handsome, and his eyes seemed an endless tunnel that she could easily gaze into until the ends of the earth. The Cleric smiles warmly to him before turning back anew to await her response.

I am very thankfull for the existance of this site, and for all of those who work behind the scenes to keep it up and running (mainly) bug-free. I am greatly looking forward to always knowing RDI as a home. I have a great deal of memories, and made a large number of friends on this website, and without it, I think I'd be lost. Thank you all for those of you who contribute, and we truly hope that Alacrity will always have time to come in for a few minutes a day.

Glad to see a new smiling face around here

All warnings have been laid out, but we kindly ask if you do decide to make RDI your home that you will vote daily so others might also stumble upon the Inn.

I look forward to seeing you around the DragonChat and the forums! I may or may not be interested in the game, depends when the game starts and how many games I'm involved in at the time.

Thank you for those who have shared so far. It makes it feel even more like a real family when we open up to one another.

I grew up in the country for most of my life, between two very small towns. I was a nerd for as long as I could remember, always had my nose in a book, played video games, wrote poetry and short stories. I always enjoyed fantasy and scifi and such, so I had signed up for Yahoo chat, and I learned how to role play on the yahoo chat rooms. Usually roleplaying as a wolf character. On occasions I would be Sorceress Selena, some random human sorceress. I fell in love with gaming despite only having three styles. T1, T2 and T3, I rarely used any of them except T2 for fights, or T1 I think? Don't remember, but it was the one that was paragraphs. Of course some people had bots for the yahoo chat to let them post super fast that you had no time to post a reply and boom your character was dead.

The yahoo chats died for the longest time, and I was so addicted to roleplaying I had to find myself another place to practise this new found entertainment. I stumbled upon RDI and met some amazing people who helped (and still help) teach me how to game, and the rules etc. I never really had many friends, so my time was spent socializing with random strangers on the internet. Spent a lot of time gaming whenever I could because my parents were always gone. I would get up go to school come home and start gaming while I cooked supper, had to clean the horses stall etc, had lots of work to do, but always found time for gaming.

RDI is my true home, its the only time I truly feel at peace is when we are together talking in chat, and playing our games etc. It's really an extension to my family. *huggles everyone*

Subject: Triana

A camp located in the foothill of the Ashfell Mountains was where Triana had felt welcomed for the first time in her life. The Half-drow was recruited to begin training to fight for a revolution against those who had wronged the outcasts.

It had been a little over a month since she had been recruited and she ensured that she gave it her all in hopes of impressing her mentor. For once in her life she was not shunned for being a mixed blood race.

Triana woke before sunrise every morning and found a quiet place to pray to Wee Jas for her spells before training begun. The ritual would be different today as her mentor informed her yesterday that she would instead be gathering at the meeting ground by the front gate at sunrise. Instinct had told her to pack for the occasion and she had readied her backpack with items before going to sleep last night.

The cleric woke before sunrise the frost upon the ground glistening in the pre-dawn light. Soundlessly she prepared herself for the day mentally, and then settled down for prayer an hour and a half before sunrise. Closing her hazel eyes she prayed to her diety Wee Jas, and had another half hour before sunrise to arrive at the meeting location. Triana put on her black cloak and raised the hood, as she grabbed her quarterstaff from the corner of her tent.

The woman being completely packed, having prayed to her diety was now ready to make her way to the front gates allowing her mind to ponder the reason for the meeting grounds instead of the training district. Gracefully she arrived at the gates when the sun was half risen into the sky and she could see a large creature already waiting for the rest of the group to gather. Nodding to the creature which she believed to be a hob-goblin she waited for the meeting to begin. Triana took in each visitor and how close it was to sunrise that they chose to arrive.

The Cleric had no questions, any information they would need would be provided as they began the mission. Having faith in the cause she remained silent listening as the Hob-Goblin asked a question to the Lady Aleya. The woman waited for the orders from Paagdish who would serve as their leader over the course of the mission.

Yeah I have, but I dislike having too many windows open at once, going to find one on ebay or something and if they are a decent deal buy myself a rule book.

I will one day have the extra money to get myself some rulebooks and my own set of dice and such, but as of right now, cannot afford them. I have too much on my plate to even learn right now unfortunately. I am working full time, plus helping with renovations at home, and trying to get myself back to studying full time. In addition to being pregnant so trying to not overload myself too much. I am hoping to find some people who might be willing to get together in my area to teach me how to play tabletop. Only ever played tabletop rpg once, and feel I'm missing out since didn't get much time.

I have tried twice to run a game but my knowledge of the rules are too minimal to accomplish it properly. I don't know what to roll when or how to run the game. I don't know how often to have them run into problems, or anything. I attempted to run A Prodigal Son, and The Safari Zone, but both times it stopped because i don't know what to do for battles, don't know what is considered to be acceptable. I have no maps, no rule books, nothing at all but experience from yahoo chat games. The only rules we had there was T1, T2 and T3...T3 was my fave it was more similar to these rp'ing styles. I have considered buying it, and learning tabletop games, but only know one person in toronto area who MIGHT be willing to play or teach me. I have a lot of things to learn before i can dm a game. Safari Zone was alright, had two eager players...I don't know how to do battles, or anything. Maybe when the fiance and I move in together he can help me run a game properly.

I had an idea as well for a not so typical game. I had considered having two kingdoms which had to trade to survive, one had a surplus of one item, and the other had the surplus of the other item. They were forced to trade to survive, but one day a small army from one kingdom infiltrated the others kingdom and went through the streets killing or robbing or something and in the morning the kingdom that was attacked realizes what happened and a war starts or they go back and forth with creative ideas on how to win the "war"

We are always the good guys going on quests to save the world...I think we need an rpg where there are two teams of players from the Inn, good vs bad. Have like 4 or 5 player teams, and have the evil players attacking the good or something. It's always the same thing good people on a quest to save the earth from evil...let's change things up a bit people!

I'm making a suggestion for a new game to be started, but refuse to dm the game until I have a better understanding of how to DM.
