Technically I did allow everyone to use the 3rd level gold, but it seemed like none of the first set of players actually used much of it.

Any new recruits are free to, TheRealStGeorge and any others who are still here can upgrade if you want.

It is being restarted, I apologize to everyone for my long absence. Back with a vengeance.

The tent comes down quickly and easily--it never stood up that well, anyway.

The sun continues to rise further into the sky. As the company begins to condense and prepare to move the short distance into the forest ahead, a new messenger arrives.

The messenger and Jon have a hasty conversation, which ends abruptly when Jon points his arm away rudely, several sentences with muffled swear words being spoken.

Jon turns back to the soldiers and says in a strangely loud whisper:

"We have had our orders change. Instead of a nice walk through the forest... we get to clear out the caves these men came from. Right now."

Maviar, who has been in a good mood constantly since you met him--it seems he is always like that--spreads his hands out in frustration.

"I have patched us up the best I could, Captain."

Jon grimaces and is silent for a moment.

"You there, newbies. You haven't been worn down yet. You and Maviar take point."

Jon waits impatiently for several seconds into the ensuing silence and then continues.

"This war isn't going to win itself. We have our orders. Lets move."

"Exactly how much, sir?" Jason asks, nervously inspecting his pouch of coins. He always carried money with him, though rarely did he have much, preferring the more portable gems to hold wealth with. He doubted there would be much change available.

"I am a servant and a member of nature, but even so I grow weary of sleeping under the stars every night."

OOC: I have lost track of this so much... Jason is with Zara, right?

OOC: If the post gets redone, this whole next part does not exist:

Jason stares for a brief moment after Dae tells of Septimus's passing.

"The poor, troubled soul..."

He absentmindedly looks towards the sky.

"I hope he finds it better there than it was for him here."

Jason slowly paces around the shop, stopping to examine the wares, and he approaches the the shopkeep as Zara writes her list. He points out the least expensive of the bunch and requests "A mere fistful, if you please."

"May I inquire as to why?" The shopkeep asks.

"Tracking, in case it is ever needed that urgently."

"Well I won't question that any further, the workings of the minds of druids-which you seem to be-are a mystery to me."

Jason takes the small bag, and begans to walk away, but sidles closer to Zara as she mentions pepper bombs.

"You really think we'll need them?"

Jason trots over to Zara and Alex as they talk, Midnight following close behind.

"If you would not mind another passenger, I am curious as to what exactly is sold. My food--aside from the inn--has been rather bland for a while now."

Zara seems preoccupied. Jason makes a mental note to ask her about it later, absentmindedly stroking Midnight's fur as he waits.

Sighing softly, Intil speaks after a brief moment.

"Wasn't my choice. My father made me, it's a long story. What about... whatsyername... T?"

He turns his hands over and sighs offhandedly.

Motioning towards random soldiers, he calls out.

"You three, pack up that tent, you, that fire, you-"

He motions toward T.

"Help with that tent over there."

He continues, pointing towards the tent Holly, Intil, Saiden, etc. are starting to tear down.

John says quizzicallyy after a brief pause.

[OOC: Sorry about the delay everyone.]

Jon walks swiftly over, the interrogation complete and a fresh body atop the pyre.

"Hello, what's this? Must be our lucky day."

Sweeping his hand casually around the line of soldiers, he continues.

"Any among you who care to name yourselves?"

Before it becomes even harder to find out who's out and who's in, I'm just going to start it up again.

New folks, you might want to skim through the thread to get an idea of what's happened, and make entrances as late reinforcements.

I think I'm going to have to drop out of this one as well. Running a (paused) game on this forum, as well as one on another forum, school, and with fencing season starting... it's only going to get worse.

Ah well.

Must... control urge to... make Scotty reference...

Have him make an account on the forums then, and post in either here or the Q&A thread.

Three players now, enough if no one else shows interest, but hoping for at least one more.

Will PM a character concept as soon as this question is answered and I get the time: This is freeform right?

So, it seems I need three new characters/players. Other than Holly, any of the other characters that have been posted are open for being taken, or you can make your own (3rd level, PHB I and II, SRD, 32 point buy, max health at 1st level, average for the rest)

Pwetty Pwease?
