Topic: SW: TOR Information For Players
Subject: Kate

A it of a summary... if you want to picture Kate, she really looks about the same as R2D2, except the blue components are replaced with purple ones. She is an independant droid, considering the work she is assigned as more of a job than anything else, and more interested in her own work.

Just what is her own work? Well, to be honest, Kate hides it very well, sometimes even sealing the room she is in and deactivating any cameras in order to secure her privacy.

For being only a droid, Kate is also quite social, even if no one can really understand what she is saying without a Binary to Basic translator. She seems to be quite caring at heart, but she has a very sarcastic nature that sometimes makes it appear otherwise.

Her quirks get her into trouble at times, but they definitely show just how unique she is.

On a side note, in being called 'Kate', the droid has developped a feminine personality, so rather than 'it', the droid is a 'she'.

Cindi simply nods to Hank's question, preoccupied by what she is reading. There is more in here than what the first read would reveal. She thinks, The fact that letters are used not only indicates that identities are hidden, but this is also a very systematic place, with at least 23 people in the institute, at least initially.

This individual has written this journal, but is there a reason for it? I'll have to study it a bit more thoroughly later; perhaps there is something written between the lines. Cindi thinks, analyzing the notebook carefully.

From the sounds of it, this place described in the journal sounds like it could be either of two things. It could be a type of psychiatric hospital, or... Cindi's eyes glance over to Jonah, it could be a prison.

Hmm... because of the letter pseudonyms, it will be difficult to determine if any of the people listed at all is any of us. Cindi continues, her thought now taking a new route, However... it might be worth the effort to try; the action of doing so may bring memories with them. Of course, there's little means to tell exactly when this was written, although it must have been relatively recently, within our generation; longer, and the book would've started to show decay I'd imagine.

Cindi flips through the notebook. It was unlikely that the system of letter naming followed people's initials; what made more sense was if people were assigned a letter based on when they arrived. With that assumption, A would be the founder, B would likely be the first manager, and so on. The only problem with that assumption would be G. G was not given any rank, yet H was a doctor. However, it could mean that H was hired at a time after G was inserted into the institute.

Unable to use the names as reference, Cindi instead looks for key identifiers to perhaps find anybody of the group. Her gothic, flower bracelet tattoo, Hank's rose and vine neck tattoo, the dark person's many tattoos... Cindi glances over at Delilah, who is currently holding out her cards triumphantly. On the wrist of the hand holding those cards are scars... perhaps those could be used. Jonah also has a scar that might help in searching for him in the notebook, although it seemed he would be the least likely person to be in it. The only one Cindi finds she wouldn't be able to find without any good descriptions in the notebook is Chris. Cindi shrugs, and begins searching through the notebook for traces of the group, if anyone can be found at all.

Another? Not someone I saw before. Sen thinks to herself, silent in the air. She stealthily wanders over to Erihsehc.

"I do not know who this is." She murmurs simply.

Smoothly and soundlessly, Sen flies up a bit higher, trying to avoid direct contact with the new stranger.

Subject: The Power of the Shield

Two enemies. Well, what else could they be? Hostile implies unfriendly at the very least, but being undead, these pathetic things are likely mindless as well, so that meant if they weren't destroyed, they'd attack and try to kill. It's straight-forward, simple logic, and yet... well, it's just one of those things Galen can't help but dislike. The continuation of the Eternal War; it's what gives life purpose at many times, and yet... it's just silly.

Oh dear, thinking on his own train of thought, Galen reacts rather late. Oh well, the hands of time cannot be turned back, at least not easily, and not without repurcussions. Focus! What needs to be done here? Two 'spells' are not yet used, but one of them should be saved for later, and Galen knows which one would be most useful now.

Space is a bizarre thing. It exists, but one cannot touch it, see it, or easily cut it. Drawing his left hand forward, Galen draws a different rune, this one with two standing waves, meeting at the center in a node, with three lines curving in to strike it, but none of them passing. The standard application of the force of the shield.

Galen concentrates, murmuring, "Ad ghv togwr hq ghv fhgniu, oorh ghv tatekrd qv vrvcgor go."

Drawing with his mind, he separates the space in which he is in from the space in front, forming a barrier. Nothing even shows physically that it exists, yet it is there. Galen can feel it. A small smile forms on Galen's face.

If there is a spot untaken by the two zombies, Galen takes it, ready to fight. If there is none, he simply says, "Please get out of the way."

The party quickly gathers their wits at this new enemy's presence. Its form flickers as it realizes it is badly outnumbered, but still it remains, threatening and forboding.

Viis stands and plays, the power of his song providing a theme to the battle. His playing, however, fills everyone's hearts with adrenaline, spurring their bodies to provide even more for this battle.

Charlet stands and takes aim at the Linsemptus, drawing forth the power of fire in order to strike. Her aim is true, as the ray flies through the Linsemptus, but all it does is fly straight through it.

Ignis, not to be left out, unleashes a shot of three shimmering bolts of magic that veer towards the Linsemptus Scout. One barely strikes it, just glancing off of its arm, while the other two strike almost dead in the center of its torso, causing it to recoil with the force of the assault.

Sable stands swiftly and strikes at the bizarre foe, lunging forth with a fist that was unfortunately not raised with as well a form as he would have preferred. The Linsemptus Scout ducks underneath the attempted blow.

Ita draws back her bow and takes yet another shot. This one veers wide of its target, landing with a thud in the tree just to the side of the Linsemptus Scout.

Recovering from the Magic Missile attack, from below Sable's strike the Linsemptus Scout smacks Sable with a fierce uppercut, striking the halfling under the chin and somewhat knocking his head back. (-4 hp Sable)

It all happens so fast, too fast to even see clearly. Linnix recoils from the wolf that appears out of nowhere, thankfully out of its attack range. Where did these come from?! They weren't here before! The lycanthrope leader tears at Xaris's throat, and blood spatters into the air, he drinks the potion, perhaps just in time, but then... what happened? Everything's gone, it all fades...

White

The moment seems to freeze for Linnix. She couldn't see. There is only whiteness. Whiteness, like a soft blanket of snow.

Then she remembers.

When her vision finally returns, Linnix finds that she is crying. Oh well, it doesn't matter if she is; there were things to be done. If we're to survive, Linnix thinks, We must be strong and fight. Strong in mind, not just in body.

Linnix glances around, examining the situation. Big and bad and two underlings over there, one ugly in front of her. There is one thing she could still do.

Linnix reaches into her bag, and pulls out the gryphon stone figurine.

"Fly Tessa Fly!" Linnix calls.

When the gryphon takes form, Linnix commands, "Attack the wolves over there!" indicating the ones aiding the Lycanthrope in fighting Xaris and Artanis.

Linnix herself backs away slightly from the one in front of her, trying to give Talus a clearer shot, while at the same time trying not to give the wolf an opening to strike.

Nodding gently at Lizzie's comment, Bridget follows her instruction, and leaves the small pitcher where it was. Lizzie needed to calm down, so Bridget knew she had to do her best not to do anything which may further cause more distress.

"Here, just have some tea." Bridget says, handing Lizzie the chamomile cup, and hoping it would help sooth her nerves and mind.

Bridget thinks for a moment, bringing her right hand up to her chin as she thinks hard about the morning. Her train of thought is interrupted by the high pitched whistle of steam billowing from the kettle's spout.

"Just a moment." Bridget says, returning to the kitchen. Swiftly she takes out a tray and three cups, and pours a generous amount of hot water in all three. She then leaves the kettle on the stove, although she puts out the flames somewhat. Reaching into a drawer, she lifts the tops off of three different jars, and puts a tea bag from each into each of the three cups.

"Chamomile for Lizzie I'd think, jasmine for me, and peppermint for the marshall." she murmurs, memorizing the cup's locations on the tray, before leaving them to steep for a couple minutes, returning to the dining room in the meantime for a brief moment, sitting back in her chair and thinking some more.

"I'm afraid nothing really comes to mind, although I'd be the wrong person to ask; my job is all about routines, and when washing the windows as I was today, I'm afraid I don't pay much attention to what's beyond them." Bridget replies to Rufus.

She then returns to check on the tea, and, thinking that it'd be fine even though it hadn't sat for all that long, Bridget takes out the tea bags. She places each cup in a saucer, each with a different floral pattern despite the cups being the same, and sets the chamomile tea in front of Lizzie, along with a miniature pitcher of milk and a small container of sugar with a spoon. Bridget then returns to the dining room with the two others, along with a second set of milk and sugar, just in case. She passes the peppermint tea over to Rufus, and offers the milk and sugar, before taking her own cup without any; she always preferred her tea plain.

"I put in enough water for two cups, so please tell me if you'd like a second." Bridget says before taking a sip from her cup, enjoying the subtle taste.

Being mostly vegetarian, Ninkanna settles on munching on a couple of fruits she recognizes, as well as a bowl of the sauteed vegetables. She accepts the drink, and sniffs it first, before taking a tentative sip. However, she politely declines the cigar.

As Namor continues to explain, however, Ninkanna's ears droop lower and lower, she eats at a slower and slower pace, and she looks as though she is about to fall asleep while sitting up by the end of it. She gives a little yawn, covered by a paw-like hand. Admittedly, most of what was said that was key to understanding was kind of beyond her; she knew little about the subtlties and the ways of politics. I'm so glad I'm not the one that has to deal with this... Ninkanna thinks to herself, All this over a lost sheet of paper...

"I'm sorry." Ninkanna says aloud, realizing her yawn must've seemed a bit rude, "I really don't understand politics all that much."

After a moment, just realizing Namor would be like Kavtan with his inexperience with Jedi, Ninkanna elaborates, "There are two main types of Jedi. There are the ones who are diplomats, who settle things like this, such as Si-Di, and ones who are guardians, trained to defend, such as me."

That said, Ninkanna falls silent, letting the others discuss, not really intent on saying anything more regarding the politics.

Bridget, accustomed to taking care of people's material needs first, excuses herself for just a moment to put the tea kettle on. Returning to the kitchen, she methodically pulls out the tea kettle, and pours in enough water for six cups, and sets it on the stove. She lights a match and quickly places it on the wood to ignite it. She returns to the dining room immediately after, with a quick glance to Lizzie that indicates that she hadn't exactly returned yet.

The act of doing something 'normal' seems to ease Bridget, and her hand stops shaking.

"I'm afraid there wasn't anything strange that I could tell doing my work, although I do pay a bit too much attention to it rather than my surroundings." Bridget says, "And I wasn't feeling all that well either; I threw up earlier today after breakfast. Does that mean anything?" She asks skeptically.

"Oh, and what kind of tea would you like?" Bridget asks, "Black with a hint of jasmine, chamomile, peppermint, or black with a hint of strawberry?"

Sen watches the two riders split up. One to go ahead, perhaps to lay a trap, one to stay behind, to ensure the 'prey's' coming. Sen thinks.

There would be time to catch the other later if needed; Sen's speed in flight easily could outmatch the speed of a horse. She decides to continue to tail the one, Cire as he would reveal himself. Cire tosses his sword away, but Sen isn't fooled, Very few mortals who wander the wild do so without any weapons. Sen thinks, Even I have my own.

"Greetings friend, I am Cire a traveller. I wish you well and ask if I may share your camp fire. I bring some fine wine as my good intention?"

Silent and hidden, even to those who may see her, Sen sneaks up, hovering just above the ground, to seemingly crouch in the air, just by Erihsehc. "He is one; the other, I believe gone ahead. I will talk about him later." Sen whispers, her voice hardly disturbing the air past Erihsehc, "Both, I believe armed. This one, I do not believe will strike."

She said little, for there was little time in which to speak, and as she stalks to the side, hidden in the shadows although untouched by the light, Sen raises her hand towards Cire, ready to strike even if neither of the others do.

The girl turns and watches a butterfly passing by. Like the butterfly, she could easily have a very simple life, but she wouldn't, because she would always find things that she ended up being involved in.

She thinks about her own pursuits, and wonders about a myth. Would it exist here, in this world, or would she have to look elsewhere?

Bridget looks up and nods to Rufus, then glances once more at Lizzie. "I'll be right back." She says, her tone trying to be comforting, but just wavering slightly at the edge of perception.

Bridget follows Rufus into the next room, and sits opposite Rufus (provided such an arrangement is possible). She smooths the front of her apron with her left hand, seemingly out of habit; her right hand is shaking slightly. She looks at Rufus much like any other notable guest of the house; with respect and perhaps a bit of uncertainty behind her tranquil appearance, the uncertainty of a waitress asking a patron if they would like anything else when it just may be unnecessary.

"Would you like a cup of tea or coffee?" Bridget asks habitually, her voice wavering slightly out of a forced image of serenity.

"I..." Her voice trails off, "I just can't believe it."

She chokes slightly, and once more brings herself to an unsteady-yet-calm demeanour.

"Was there anything in particular you wanted to ask?" Bridget asks hesitantly, "Or... well, where would you like me to begin?"

Linnix smiles a smug smile, watching the wolf collapse with her shot. Next on the list is the other bother to the main attacking party; the other wolf. Linnix squeezes the trigger, and lets her bolt fly, hopefully to some vital part of the wolf's anatomy...

After her bolt sails off, Linnix reaches down to her quickly emptying pocket of silver bolts, and places yet another into the crossbow.

Sen nods, although Erihsehc cannot see her, and she slows down to better and fully inspect the two followers, as well as overhear anything they might be saying. She flies a bit higher, looking down upon the two, examining for metalic glints of weapons, but what she truly is after is any sort of conversation between the two; weapons could easily be concealed, but once motives were uncovered, the question of weapons becomes easily discernable. However, even as she hovers above the two, Sen remains wary. Alturo somehow was able to see her; she couldn't afford to risk being careless behind invisibility for the possibility that these two could also see through it.

Linnix grits her teeth as the wave of calm hits her. No! I don't need to be calm! Those wolves need to be killed!

Linnix looks on with more or less indifference as the events of the Fae take place. She really was not in the mood for such intermissions, looking around at the remaining beasts to be killed, thinking of which are the biggest problems. The pain in her thigh and side are felt, and even though she was supernaturally calmed, Linnix's anger boiled inside. Finally, she was free of restraint, and allowed to move.

"Could've waited until the battle was over rather than interrupting!" Linnix shouts angrilly to no one in particular, switching her scythe for her crossbow and slamming another silver bolt within it.

(two move actions, retrieve crossbow, load it, and that's a round >.>)

(This next bit depends on the lycanthrope being not-stone encased)

Linnix raises the crossbow, aiming at the lycanthrope's head. She lines up the shaft of the bolt with her right eye, which is her dominant eye in sight, and with the ugly and furry head. without much of a thought, she fires.

She then immediately inserts another silver bolt in her crossbow.

(if the lycanthrope is still stonish in this second round, then the target instead is that other dire wolf)

The little girl watches the two from above, intrigued by the conversation. Magic, it would seem, is far different for the residents of this world than several of the other worlds she's been to. However, her own innate ties with magic are thankfully undisrupted. In a couple of the worlds she's been to, people there have used demons in order to use magic, albiet of a different variety. Hmm, that would mean that it could be more dangerous for her here because, if she were to be used in a similar manner, the magic obtained would probably be at about the level as that of the use of a greater demon. She cannot risk letting others know of her presence...

Apprehensive, the little girl remains above, invisible, watching Artemis and Illiana as well as watching over them.

Ninkanna quickly turns to the source, having not really been paying attention to what is in front of her.

"I'm sorry, JO is supposed to be programed for ettiquette, but I swear that whoever programmed must have been completely inept at that subject..."

"Oh, that's alright, I imagine it'd be among the more difficult things for a droid to comprehend." Ninkanna says, thinking about her starfighter's astromech droid and its own little quirks.
