Subject: Senka!
Senka walked slowly down the center of the street, eating some sort of dumpling with red pasty filling that was getting onto her mouth. She had an entire bag of the snacks in her arms. She wove her way gracefully through the crowds, not bumping so much as an elbow against anyone.
Of course, there was something special about this scene, if you cared to look a little closer: Her eyes remained shut the entire time.

Before she had a chance to answer Ella, Rajani looked drunkenly down at the Kender that fell from the tree. She started to giggle at him as he rambled.
"You're a weird lil' thing, ain'tcha? I'm not gonna eatcha. I'm Rajani." She smiled cheerfully and looked back to Ella. "Yeah, that guy Roy, he found me wanderin' an' took me here, but he an' that demon chickie, they hadda fight, an' he left an' she's ina tent, an'... Hi!"
She grinned stupidly, face red.

She got up shakily after the comforting bottle was empty and, therefore, no longer comforting in the slightest. She was dizzy and tired, but the nightmarish visions refused to leave her be.
"Mum...Dad..." She stood, indecision flooding her.

Rajani's words became more and more slurred with each drink she took, and her notions became wilder. Visions of the poor farmers cropped up in her mind: stabbed, slashed, hacked, their blood soaking the floor and walls...
She whimpered feebly and the song broke.

Rajani was the type whose mood was all over tha place, but drinking intensified it greatly. Her thoughts drifted to her foster parents, and how they could be in danger right now because of this civil war stuff, and that she shouldn't have left them alone after all...
She drank again, thinking hard, but continued singing morosely: "Such is the bread of an everyday life... From morning to noon, to shadowless night..."

By this time, Rajani lay on her back a little ways away in the trees, finishing off the bottle and licking her lips.
"Nothin' like a bit o'drink ta take the edge off."
She withdrew a second bottle and started singing her favourite songs softly, letting her mind drift.
