Topic: Stupidest game-related utterances
Subject: From a 3.5 Ranger, on his skill choices...

"What do you mean I needed to take Survival? I thought Rangers could already Track?"

Seriously, read the damn rule book, people! You will save your DM (in this case, me) an early aneurysm.

Topic: 2nd Edition AD&D Houserules
Subject: House Ruling

A lot of the house-ruling we used in 2nd edition sort of became standard in 3rd. For instance, we did away with the saving throws as written and instead tied them to appropriate stats. It made a lot more sense to us that way, and it seems that WotC agreed later (though we had nothing to do with that, obviously).

In general, we just house ruled as we saw fit to make things run smoother and faster. Anything that kept us playing instead of arguing about rules was a good thing.

Subject: Renaissance Dork Blog

Howdy! I've been popping in and out of the forum over the last little while, and I thought it was about time I dropped in a link to my blog, Renaissance Dork. I write about all manner of geekery, and I'm always looking for good comments and discussion. If you have a moment, check it out and let me know what you think!

Enjoy!
