Well either would be ok, but neither is really what I know to make up story.
But I've not let that stop me before.
Seems that they both have fighter types and maybe the Scifi would fit better.
But I watched The Man From UNCLE when it was the TV series so maybe I could create a Napoleon Ody.

Mathias folded his hands on his desk, showing a somewhat tired smile, "I can hardly blame you for not catching something that I missed as well, besides I'm not in the business of throwing subordinates under the bus for personal gain. I'll have a word with our new transfers and any on duty staff that may have seen something if you can compile any relevant security and transfer logs for me. I'll complete the report and present our findings to the captain. Other than that you needn't worry about anything, who ever did this was counting on the somewhat chaotic environment aboard the ship as cover and it worked, we just need to pick up the pieces now."
"I appreciate that sir." John nodded back to Berk. Then as they watched the screen another transfer name appeared.
"Well it looks like the hits just keep on coming." As they watched the transfer record of a replacement for Ensign Agris scrolled in.
"Looks like we now have an Ensign William Mathews reporting for duty.... I'll get you his bio report. Shall I call him to report here now so you interview him?"
John's finger danced over the screen as he set Ensign Mathews files to Lt. Berks PADD.

USS Peregrine - CTO's Office - 1250
"Good afternoon Mister Reid" Berk gestured toward his now open office door.
"Sir." John took Berk's gesture and stepped into the CTO's office.
Mathias followed the Lieutenant into the office, the doors swishing faintly behind him as they closed and made for his desk, as he walked he motioned to the other seat, opposite his, on the other side of the desk, "Have a seat, Lieutenant."
John could sense the tension in Lt. Berk's voice and manner. John understood the subtleties of body language and took the seat directly in front Berk's desk. He knew this would put Lt. Berk in the superior position and perhaps more at ease.
"Mister Reid we have a problem, someone has gone behind the Captain's back and mine in the arrest of Lt. Tesenblen, and now the Captain, understandably, wants answers, and so do I. I want to know who authorized Starbase security's spiriting away of the Peregrine's CSO? I need a list of all of our new transfers, for all departments, but more specifically, anyone with security authorizations. Lastly I need a list of all on duty security personnel at the time of Tesenblen's arrest, I would like to interview them all."
"Sir, I am guessing that you hadn't had time to see the transfer summery I posted to your bridge report. I had summarized the transfer and added the my comments on possible security risks but there was very little there on the Senior Officers and only few crew, mostly nurses."
"I would hope that one of our own isn't willing to throw our captain under the bus, I hope that someone had their arm twisted, or that Commander Jennings' men came aboard through some other sort of subterfuge."
"If this was orchestrated to undermine Captain Drake then they wouldn't do anything that alert us, but would cover themselves by just staying in regulation. We'd better check that transfer list again."
"Well then, I'd like to have a report for the Captain put together by the time we're underway, we should both get to work." Mathias finished standing up as he spoke.
"Let's check the transfer list again." Reid stepped the Comm and punched in his security code then accessed the transfer list. As the screen scrolled to names of personnel transferred on and off the Peregrine John let a low whistle. "Well there are a few new names here that weren't there fifteen minutes ago when I filed my report to you. It appears three of our security crew had last minute transfers off the boat. Crewman Sinatra and Waddle were assigned the Starbase 118 and were replaced by Rotet and Domms. But look at this, Ensign Thorn Agris was assigned to the Coronado. ,.. I'll bet you dimes to donuts there's where the security team got their access and clearance to the Science section. You and I were preparing for the Ambassadors and Ensign Blackmon was preparing to man the security station on the bridge. Agris was the only security officer not otherwise assigned. He was ambitious but seemed a bit impatient to work his way through the line. I had just chalked it up to immaturity."
John stepped aside to let Lt. Berk view the screen. "Sir, I'm sorry,,.. when Lt. Rockatansky was transferred out he warned me to watch the transfer onto Peregrine but I didn't consider that there may be trouble brewing within. I'd say we need to interview Rotet and Domms but my guess is they were pawns just to make to make these transfers look less suspicious. If you agree I'll start the report for Captain and have these finding ready for you to present in just few minutes,.Sir, being I failed to catch this I'm prepared to face Captain Drake as you see fit."

John had barely gotten his report sent when Lt Berk's voice came across the comm.
=/= "Berk to Reid, meet me in my office immediately, we need to talk."=/=
"Aye sir, I'm on my way." John replied to his CO.
John could tell by Berk's tone that something was up. Having spent time with the Senior Staff Berk would know what was going on with all these changes and could shed some light on the arrest of LT. Tesenblen. John could only suspect that because of their short time together that Berk had not built the trust to inform him of arrest in case he feared John might warn the Science officer. Having both himself and Berk at Ambassador's arrival allowed the Starbase security team to board without his involvement.
Making his way to the level five security section John waited outside the CTO's office for Lt. Berk to arrive.

John had made his way to his quarters to rest and prepare for his rotation on the bridge. As was his usual routine before starting a mission he reviews the personnel log for changes. The Peregrine's crew was small compared to a Galaxy class ship but still he felt it was wise to know the new faces on board. His new CO would not have time and it was the job of the second to support and fill the gaps.
As the boarding log came up on the comm John let out a low whistle.
Transfers

Lt Chell (Ops) - Promoted and given an XO post aboard another ship. Was supposed to have been replaced by a Lt Tetsuko but, instead, we got Lt Lasad.
Lt Rockatansky (Tac/Sec) - Transferred . Replaced by Lt Berk.
Lt Synklar (Medical) - Transferred . Replaced by Lt Moore.
Lt Cmdr Thorson (Eng) - Relieved of duty due to medical emergency. Replaced by Lt McTavish.
Lt (jg) Tesenblen (Sci) - arrested for illegal acquisition and cultivation of potentially dangerous substances aboard SF installations/ships. Replaced by Lt Sh'iraolnas.
Crewman:
Ens Thomason - Flight Control Dept,
2nd class PO Nurse Peter Adama.
3rd class PO Nurse Miraan.
Crewman Nurse Sandra Reynolds

John was used to the changeovers in crewman as a usual routine of Starfleet to give personnel experience but never had he heard of this many changes in Senior Staff at one time.
Coincidence had just made it seem more unusual. Transfers for promotion were standard and emergencies would require changes. Misfortune of stepping over the Starfleet regulations also would require discipline. It wasn't John's place to question the moves of Starfleet so changing a Security Officer and Medical Officer were not outside any grand plan. But when looking at it as a whole the Peregrine was handed a challenge.
John entered his security clearance and opened the files of each transfer. Reviewing each file he entered a briefing report on each new crew member with risk analysis. Although his current clearance did not give him access to all files it was enough to send on the Lt. Berk.

Gosh do you guys write a lot. But keep it up so we have stuff to build on.
Still catching up and refreshing, may be tomorrow for my post but seeing that Reid is minor character and support it is mostly fill until direct action starts.
Reid will be reviewing the security files on the crew so if there should be something he should notice please let me know.
Like sections classified "Need To Know" or "clearance level not sufficient".

Ok here's my outline so that Brennas might have a little more. I plan to have Reid doing a quick security review on the new crew member as a brief for the Lt. This will allow him to catch high level facts without have to complete each bio in a rush. He can do that later. I would guess he would want a bit more warm fuzzy on the new bridge SO and others.
Reid will then retire for his rest to take the Command Chair on Beta shift. (Insert ZZZZZZZZZZ......)
Should have that up tonight.

Subject: RL Does What Does.....
Well the down time came at a time when I needed to be away too.
June 2 my mother (92)was in car accident and now just this Thursday I brought home from nursing care. So I was either at the hospital or nursing care almost every night with her. Would have been late on posts.
Now it looks like much smoother times. I have Reid sleeping during departure because he is next up on Gamma shift for the bridge. So he just slept through two month of Ody down time.
I will need to get back into the date time thing and read some back to get started again.
Welcome back Olan and the rest. Hope we keep this bird flying.

Minion Master? Well I'd need to look up stuff on that too.
At low levels in 2.0 all characters don't have much power and I guess it will take a while before a Minion Master can actually acquire Minions. Like a Priest gaining followers.

I be the Ody! The name came from Odie in Garfield comics.
We were playing a table top game and our party leader was a barbarian of the Garfolk Tribe. The leader was Garfield so of course he must have his Odie so I created a Werebear Sharman and named him Odyson Bruin, which of course would be Ody for short.
So Ody is absolutely alright!
