Topic: Breaking the Fourth ~ A D&D Webcomic Subject: in our game...
...Lia was stunned for another four rounds after her encounter with her deity. (failed Will save for Divine Presence) Really really didn't expect it.
PS ~ Don't try to fool your deity into thinking your shortcomings are actually your weapons fault. Not the best of plans.
(and I definitely just stole that to put as my DM tip. My issue is I'm not generally awake enough for good text when it first goes up. Maybe I should plan to have it all set-up the night before.
Naww. That would be the intelligent thing to do. I can't have that! o.O )

Nice! I love how you ran with the 'mistaken' concept from the last comic!
It can be frustrating explaining role-playing to someone who doesn't understand, but I love how the dialogue shows the eloquence of the professional DM, and the art shows his incredulous reaction!
and I must say...
LOVE THAT FEDORA!

Question Al: How far away is that ship? I mean, we don't have to be right next to them to receive a wave. Heck, they could be on Greenleaf for the range of a wave.

...That was exactly what I needed to know!
I won't be pushing Destiny like that anytime soon unless it is absolutely necessary. ^_^

I just wanted to know if Al wants me to post that before or after his GM post. I've got RP interaction all planned out, and it will work either way I'm sure.
edit: planned out as in my head ~ though now Jon can be integrated into said plans

Question for Al: How much more can we push Destiny?
I don't mind asking for a bit more from her, but I gotta tell you, I hate the possibility of being run down and already going at full tilt boogey. Makes the 'getting away' part a little more difficult.
Second question for Al: Did you want me to post the live wave bit before your GM post or after?

Thanks guys! Though, I'm not sure why you're apologizing for posting again, Celtia.
It's true though, Eol. If you're going to bring some, bring enough. Especially around horses. They can be pretty pushy... and it hurts when you get your foot stepped on.
Through two free programs power's combined, I cleaned the heck out of the first comic! I'll go through the other ones and do the same! Hooray!

Topic: Gamer in the Kitchen Subject: Cabbage Burgers! Nom nom nom.
From a comment from Hammer in my Cowboy Poetry thread, here’s my grandma’s recipe for cabbage burgers! They are wonderful if you dip them in ketchup and/or mustard! Plus, they are convenient to make for picnics or lunches as they are self contained, easy to warm up, and still tasty cold. They also freeze well.
Cabbage Burgers
- 1 cabbage
- 2 pounds ground beef
- onion
Shred cabbage and chop onion; boil until cabbage is tender. Drain. Brown beef, and mix with cabbage. Use either your favorite roll recipe, or pre-made rolls. Roll out, place mixture into middle and pinch to close to make burgers. Bake according to roll instructions until rolls are golden brown.
I use the following roll recipe of my grandma’s ~ it seems to work the best!
Quick Rolls
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 6 tablespoons shortening
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 cakes yeast in ½ warm water (I use two packages of dry yeast dissolved in water)
- 4 cups flour
- 1 cup warm water or milk
Combine. Let rise for 30 minutes. Make into rolls. Let rise for 15 minutes. Bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes.

Topic: Cowboy Poetry Subject: Cowboy Poetry
I wrote this for my grandpa for his birthday. I don't write poetry very often, but when I do, it usually ends up looking like cowboy poetry (with the occasional exception). So many people have shared their creations, so I thought I'd throw one of mine into the mix.
Always the same,
It’ll never change.
From the coast of New England,
To back home on the range.
With fancies like theme parks,
And Californian surfers,
I can’t wait to get home,
To Ma’s cabbage burgers.
Back to my sweet mountains,
And lives moving at slow paces,
To see my friends and kin,
With sun leathered faces.
But a storm’s overhead,
And the ground’s covered with rain.
Don’t you go worrying now,
We’ll be riding again.

Topic: Meet Floyd Hobart Subject: You know...
We have a somewhat similar problem here in the intermountain west, Lady Alys.
Our particular group's DM began college, and we all missed gaming terribly. There are plenty of players, but no one to run games. I finally got fed up with it and decided to DM it myself! It took a while to get into the swing of being a DM, but it was so worth it!
I think the concept of Floyd is awesome! How cool would it be to be paid for DMing?? It's like two steps off of being paid as a writer, after all, you are creating worlds, characters, and plot lines.
