Subject: Only most of my time...

The Old Republic is coming out however I won't have a computer to play it on until sometime after my birthday. (Yay grandma!) After that I have a feeling that I can still check the internet before and after I game. That's what I do with other games that involve the computer or my 360. Plus my roommate, and my best friend wouldn't let me disappear into it. The could both ask me how the next adventure was going at the same time, then I'd have to log off to get myself in motion.... or stay on and shoot ideas back and forth.

I'd love to join, and if anything we could always go for an era that has been mostly untouched.

Subject: Dice....

Okay Eol, thanks again. *uses towel, or both* Excuse me if I don't offer a hug this time, I just woke up.

And.... I was looking up dice superstitions/ myths so I didn't have to explain as much to people who don't play any tabletop game, or get some other feedback so they just didn't have my word and ran into one of the earlier Myth Breakers tucked into Loaded Dice. Didn't answer my question, and I never even wrote what I was going to. I continued reading, and then wandered around for a bit before I joined, then I continued to wander.

I was going to say that Eol got me in the 'would you rather thread,' but then I continued reading. Thank you both for the towels.
Tiamat I may join in when I don't have work or , so long as you have a open door and my roommate doesn't steal her computer - like she will be after this post.
And I'm glad to be here.

Topic: I suppose I should say an official hello...
Subject: I suppose I should say an official hello...

I've been (kinda lurking) here for about two weeks now, and I figure I should actually say hello!
So.... Hello, I'm LadyAlys, I will answer to Alys. I'm from North Dakota, and live with roommates. One of which I have gotten to buy her own dice (two sets now!), but I suppose I will get there in a bit. I like snow. If I must have cold, I would like to have snow. If anything I want snow on Christmas and on my birthday, but it is only there for those fourteen days I will not complain.
My first interaction with a tabletop was at my grandma's when I was snooping in her basement and found one of the older red boxes, I wish I knew what edition it was. I haven't seen it since and fear that it may have been burned with the trash when they took out my uncle's waterbed. The next time I brushed along with roll playing was in a forum based on Knights of the Old Republic. (I have been waiting for Kotor 3 since I finished the second game didn't want it to be a mmo, but oh well.) That was followed by a string of forum rps, until my the summer before my third year of high school. When me and my best friend decided to start gaming. That DM backed out on us about twelve hours before we would have had our first meeting.
The next time I actually played was my second and third semesters of collage, we would have played this semester, however my DM skipped out on rent this summer and we had to have him go live with his parents since he also was taking a semester off, so hopefully that game will start up again sometime next year.
After I heard about the Dragon Age tabletop I decided to get it.... fortunately someone handed me the pdf for the first box. I started dming with that system toward the end of the school year, and my rent-less dm managed to have a cracked character first try around. That original group all but fell apart over the summer when most of them moving. The one person who was left of that left because the majority of those who joined afterwards wanted more character relations than fighting so he left the group.
One of those who joined up is going to be running a Shadowrun campaign. I'm excited, although I may have to be the face of the group with my roommate going the route of playing a vampire, and the other player playing a zombie. I'm sticking with a simple metatype, and naming her Glitch so I can say Glitch glitched when ones come up.
Simple things still amuse me, and there are times when my characters do things I don't intend for them to do. I might join a forum rp here, but for now I shall continue planing Dragon Age with pathfinder.
Soo... yeah... wow I didn't mean this to be so long. Hello! ^^

Putting it back you look around at the world, hoping to see color where there is none to be seen except for in the shining sword before you.

Would you rather beta for The Old Republic for a week only to lose your character(s) that you've lost hours of sleep over and start again. BUT you can rub it in your best friend's face.

Wait until the game comes out and you can see it for the first time.

Topic: So who was your first?
Subject: Pickwick

My gnome bard who's dice like to DM for some reason - otherwise we have a love hate relationship. She's from 3.5 which one of my friends and I started getting the books for right as fourth came out - the end of my junior year of high school. I didn't get any use out of it til last year - so she's almost one year old.
This may be off and is a lot shorter than what I wrote down the first time, dm has this written down somewhere I think.... Her dad was also a bard who left to help someone and hadn't comeback. Her mom has given up on him and has become a raging alcoholic. Eventually she had had enough and started searching for her dad who she desperately believes that he's still alive

The first forum based character that I had was named Alys, stuck with that name for a character for a long time so I'm not sure what the first one did. I don't even remember where it was website wise.

Subject: Chaotic blank! And Puppy?

We had just killed a lich before he had become a true lich and we were looking around the cave for his staff. Pickwick (my gnome bard) found the chest with the staff in it as well as 150g. She pocketed 50 for herself before she turned around to show what she found.
Tant's player leaps up out of her chair, points at me across the table and says, "Chaotic good!"
I point right back and say, "Chaotic neutral!" She then did a sense motive check which I was able to pass with my bluff.

Tant's player was also one of two who joined last minute. We were sitting at dinner and most of us were talking about gaming finally and she and Ophelia's player asked if they could join. I texted the dm. Got the reply of sure. On the way to the place were we had meetings until my stalker got creepy, I ended up sending, "Can she play a dog?" I'm pretty sure he face palmed because he didn't respond for ten minutes with a "... fine."
"Can we keep zombie 3?" Eryn asked me tonight, and the rest of my players joined in.

I wish I had one. Yes I can play Dark Souls on Sanity - my 360 - however I have to play Demon Souls on my friend's PS3. Then again the whole reason I got a 360 in the first place was so I could play kotor... and still have access to newer games. So honestly, PS3, 360 and then PS2.

But today I got to see my cousin and his girlfriend for the first time in over a year, spend time with my Mor-mor and one of my aunts. Unfortunately most of my extended family wasn't there and my mom, step dad and siblings choose to go elsewhere. I now have lefse and krumkaka to munch on!

I hope everyone who does celebrate Thanksgiving had a good one and for goodness sake if you are a black Friday shopper, stay safe, if you can't get what you want be patient with the clerk who is trying to help you.

Subject: Waiting for him to get back....

The second group grew to about eleven and the fluctuated from there - currently there are nine players. However he failed to pay rent and our cosigner wanted him out. So that campaign is on hold until (if) he comes back, he was going to do something online but the group didn't want that, so we wait.

I am DMing now, Celeste. It started as on the Dragon Age system (cracked... so cracked)and we moved it to Pathfinder and that's where we are now. I'm still learning, but so are most of them.

I'm not sure about paying for a DM, there's always some group looking for players, you just have to know where to look.

Subject: Have you been out here? (upper midwest)

We are far too nice and many of us are closet nerds. Then you get me and my friends who are out there in character at dinner.

I mean when my first group was struggling to get off the ground we found a dm who gave us twelve hours notice that he wasn't going to do so. And that kinda killed that party before anything happened. We were too young and silly to actually go into the gaming store where we had gotten most of our books and see if we could find someone there.

On the other hand my second group I got about four players together and was at a gaming store and asked someone who I barely knew at the time. I knew that he went to my university. He said yes, and about this time last year we started making characters.
