Haven't forgotten about this; I'm surprised it hasn't completely been forgotten. It'll take me a while to remember where we are...

Topic: Great to be Here
Subject: Hallo there, friend!

It seems our little family is getting bigger as we speak; perhaps a new face shall be added to our roleplaying legacy, a legacy which I am still getting accustomed to.

Perhaps we will meet at some point- my circuits are firing at the very thought!- in a game or two, or something of the like; I've never tried 1st ed. myself, and would be more than willing to learn the ropes.

Hallo, good sir, and it's good to have you back! I'm just another stranger who is new to the inn, and I do hope that I do not come off as smarmy; as for children, they're a lot more taxing than time on the inn can help.

I'll vouch for Ayrn; surely his silver tongue can clear this strange confusion!

Avast ye, there be a light just ahead! Heave to, mateys- maybe we can find some desolate inn and crack Jenny's tea pot for the while, splice the main brace, and see what these scallywags are all about.

Shiver me timbers! There be grog about these shores, but no quarters! P'raps there be one by the tavern...

Chessic, if you could join- and maintain a position in- Shield Wolf's FFD20, that would be wonderful. Kamina and I have already formed more-than-functional characters, and would be more than happy to see you in.

Of course, it's entirely up to you, but I'm very much game to get this going again!

Topic: Man of Steel… What did you think?
Subject: Not a bad flick

So I saw it not too long ago in the theatre of our small town. I've never really been a fan of the whole DC Superman franchise, but I know enough about him to know that they really changed some stuff up with it.

The action was fantastic, I must say. The flying sequences were very smooth and the battle was fluid; nothing like watching a bunch of indestructible flying men beat each other to a pulp. Perhaps a favourite for me was the actor they chose for Superman. I don't know why, but I thought he was exceptional. They had his posture and demeanour all right, and his chin was superb!

Criticisms I have are pretty much in key with most other movies being created by Hollywood nowadays. They really need to stop this hangup upon the one central villain device; too many movies have made poorer impressions on me than they could have otherwise. Maybe I'm just a complainer or a stick in the mud, but it really ruins something for me.

Topic: muse for writing?
Subject: Music

I do love listening to music while I am writing and even more when I am drawing, which is what I do much more of anyhow. Maybe I should post something to RDI. The desk at which I draw at always has a computer upon it, and I largely use YouTube for my listening pleasures.

My favourite bands include Pink Floyd (Animals and Dark Side of the Moon in particular), SYRSA, Dethklok (call me lame), and miscellaneous bits and bites I've heard and liked around the scene. The styles I prefer most often include oldies stuff, like Tangerine Dream, Elton John, and the Beach Boys; but I do love me some techno and some good ol' rock n' roll. Much less of a fan of much of the stuff playing nowadays (though I am certainly not a hipster!).

I find that the drawings and other artstuffs I do lack something when I perform without sound. Even the hum of a fan in the background is better than silence. It's always fun to turn on my speakers when the folks aren't around and blast something good in the presence of nobody else; something I don't do often for my sake.

Hey, that epic sort of stuff is a ton of fun!

New York has been affected too? What a terrible shame- there have been floods all over the place. Alberta got quite the worst of it here in Canada; luckily, I live quite far from there.

I'm sorry to hear about your complicated and quite wet situation over there, good sir! I do hope it clears up down there and that you and your family have suffered little damage generally and financially. Those floods can be quite expensive...

I haven't seen it yet, but have definitely made plans. My mum really likes the Superman actor's manly chin.

I'll be posting a review (no spoilers) on RDI when I do; it sounds pretty good. I agree with you though, Tann- Marvel made its Avengers look terrific. DC is going to have some tough competition. I'm still waiting for a debut of Dr. Strange on the big screen!

Topic: World of Darkness: The Dark Carnival
Subject: Wheee! What to do!

Tiffany stared down the three-way path, her little mind inundated with wonder and excitement. Almost hypnotic in its thrills, the Carnival seemed to be beckoning, drawing her in with its peculiar charms. There was one attraction in particular which caught her eye.

"Oh, wow, is that a fun house??" she squealed. "Oh my god. I could take some aMAYzing selfies in there; this is so going on my Facebook!" Without a single care in the world, the teen meandered her way through the bustling crowds and strangely-dressed personnel. As she drew nearer to it, she could hear the screams of horror and delight from the wandering visitors inside. Tiffany grinned as remembered the frivolous "advice" given to her by another good friend of hers who also loved amusement parks:

[With the fun house in mind,] "The louder they scream, the better the house."

The morning had greeted Nefrelle with a playful beam of sunlight which hovered upon her face and bedsheets, as if softly rousing her from her gentle slumber. She rolled over and lifted herself from her pillow, yawning and sweeping her thin white hair out of her eyes. Smiling, the Nu Mou looked out the window into the sun. How she loved the mornings here. They were always filled with such splendid beauty, with the birds singing and the grass lush and green.

At length, a knocking sounded upon her door: the group's young thief, a Hume called Nia, was waking up her friends, calling them to breakfast before it was too late. That girl, she thought with a grin. Always on the move.

Nefrelle hopped off her little bed, tied back her hair, and gathered her attire. She wore a scholar's outfit underneath a robe of silk, with some parchment, pens, and ink pots hidden the robe's pockets. Everything else was stuffed in her multi-purpose backpack, and her quarterstaff was slung across her back with a strap. That was everything; now, it was time to enjoy the day, and she had a hankering for some bread and butter for her breakfast. Long ears brushing against the floor, the White Mage left the room to join Nia and the others.

Subject: A carnival??

It was only 7:30 pm, and Tiffany was heading home from her friend Jessica's house after hanging around with them after school, an event she'd told her parents as of thirty minutes before she'd left. As she walked, her airy mind wandered, and she took the long way home around the neighbourhoods.

At some point or another- she never kept track- she stumbled upon the gates to what had been advertised around town for days and she had completely forgotten- The Dark Carnival. Ever curious and searching for fun, the blonde-haired babysitter peered inside and was met with an amazing sight. Men and women dressed as ghouls, skeletons, and other gothic what-have-yous patrolled the park in shadows and robes, cloaked by an air of strange secrecy. She, however, didn't seem to notice.

"Oh my god, what an amazing park! Maybe this is going to be, like, awesome or something. I should totally explore this; maybe, if it's good, Mom and Dad will let me stay and invite my friends!" Lacking the prudence to call her parents first, Tiffany walked into the park.

Subject: Nefrelle

Nefrelle isn't a particularly outspoken member of this group. Though much of her time is spent with the others, she says little, preferring to speak when spoken to out of courtesy for their collective conversations. I'd imagine she'd have listened to Nia's chatting about thieving and current happenings, and perhaps have been introduced to Kal'Ar at some point. She recognizes the Ronso's fame and power, and is impressed, but treats him just like every other member of their travelling group. To clarify this, she treats them all kindly, almost as if they were her own children; after all, she watches over their health as a white mage.

Nefrelle also loves Nia's cooking, calling her a "first-rate chef".

Subject: Let's see them coms

As Riggs asked his question, he could overhear an answer to Gyro's question. The responding clone had fallen to the floor with his head in his hands... perhaps this what war really did to you. A frightening image passed through Riggs' mind as he imagined himself in that very position; stunned, shaken, and horrified by what he had seen. It took the voice of another clone to bring him back to reality:

"I can come with you. I won't be much help, but I don't think we should do things alone." The clone had only a blaster pistol and was visually shaken, but his offer to help was eagerly accepted nonetheless.

"All right then- excellent. We'll go to security across the way; I'd like you to cover me as I work." With this other clone at his side, Riggs hurried into the security room adjacent to the commotion, tool kit in hand and blaster pistol at his belt. He sat down in front of one of the consoles and began a basic maintenance overview.

((OOC: If the coms are working, Riggs will issue a response which I will dictate in the next round; if not, then he will initiate the necessary repair.))

Subject: Now we see.

As the blast doors opened and the four clones poured in, Riggs jumped with a start, immediately lowering his pistol. Blaster fire faded in the background upon the closing of those doors, and his attention turned to an injured soldier at the floor. Obviously, heavy damage was being taken and they'd somehow been untouched so far. What are the odds of that?

As the clone was lifted and Gyro took control of the situation medically, he could hear Hodges asking another about the battle out there. Now was a good chance, perhaps, to work on the long coms. The Republic had to know about this. Riggs sided up to the group and, once he'd received one's attention, informed him:

"I am going to check out the long-range communication systems in the security room. If any of you can spare backup, that would be extremely helpful to me."

I must say that I am, for some reason, confident that most of us are going to survive this one; I don't know why. It just seems to me that the most impossible odds are going to be in our favour; or maybe that's the n00b talking.

I'm having a ton of fun with this thing so far.

As Riggs strode out the door, certain he had taken everything he needed, he collided head-on with two other figures and stumbled to the floor. He was momentarily dazed, then began to flail before he heard a familiar voice blast into his ear:

"Clankers!? Here!? Hurry up and open that door for them!" It was Batter, and he could rationally that the other figure upon him had to be Hodges. The latter was trying to get to his feet, kicking and shoving. Riggs received a kick to his helmet, knocking him once more to the floor. Once Hodges made it to his feet and Batter rolled off of him, he was able to pick himself up and stumbled toward the door where he noticed the small group beginning to gather. Gyro was fumbling with the computer mechanism on the door, trying to get it open.

This was it! The group was now engaged in combat. Riggs tossed his tool kit aside, stepped back and raised his pistol, preparing for anything. If it wasn't white, it was shoot to kill. The long coms would have to wait for now.
