I think that the NPCs of Dragonmist should go back to town to gather info (if there is any more to be gathered).

Also, I agree with Luna transforming into a bloodhound to track the scent of the goblin that escaped. I'm a bit concerned, however. The storm is strong, the downpour heavy. Even the strong stench of goblin may have been washed away in the rain by now. As well as his boot prints.

Guardian stared in concern and with impatience as Cipher was still limp and unconcious to the waking world, her mind still exploring cyberspace. He was actually unfamiliar with this process so he had no idea how long it usually took a Netrunner to complete a netrun.

Depends on how difficult the task is, I guess, Guardian thought.

Suddenly, Cipher snapped back to conciousness, taking Guardian by surprise and making him start. In an effort to cover up his embarrasing moment of jumpyness, he grinned at her when she informed him of her success on the Net.

'Told you I'm good,' she said, smirking.

'Yeah, you are, girl,' he grinned at her. 'You had me worried for a bit there, though. This being the first mission of mine and all. Can't imagine what I'd do if I screwed it up and killed the Netrunner on my first watch.' He chuckled humorously, though a hint of worry darkened his voice. 'Anyway, glad to see you back safe, Ciph. You okay to stand?'

He offered her his hand, a warm smile colouring his face.

Thäoran listened carefully to exchanges of his fellow companions and contemplated the options available to the party.
'Constantine,' the elf addressed the dragonborn, 'your suggestion of your companions returning to Botkinburg in our stead is indeed a good one, but how will they find us again after they have completed their tasks in the town? The stray goblin's tracks could lead us anywhere so we cannot say for certain where we shall end up.'

Is it very wise for Luna to shout? What if he's heard by someone approaching outside? We need to keep a low profile to avoid any unecessary fights.

Haha. I need to get in the habit of jotting my characters' names down.

An elfpire? A vampelf? Haha. That does sound like a badass species combo. Don't suppose there are any elfpires in D&D are there?

Subject: A Respite From The Rain

The chilled wind whipped Thäoran's sleek hair around his face, which had escaped somewhat from its leather band from the conflict with the goblins. With the wind spitting rain in his face, the elf reached up and pulled the band from his hair and retied it, eyes squinting against the storm. He hoped this bad weather wouldn't linger too long as it would surely hinder them from completing their task. It will be difficult indeed to spot any bootprints in this downpour, or any other clues as to the goblins' location.
Hornet suggested pursuing the ones that had fled as they may inadvertently lead them to their base of operations. It did indeed sound like a good a plan as any, so he voiced his agreement to his companion:

'My friend, I too wish to track the fleeing goblins in the hope that by doing so we may find what we are seeking. Let us hope this storm eases quickly so we can be on our way. Those young humans need our assistance as soon as podsible and I'm afraid if we tarry much longer, there will be no boys to save. Goblins are not known for their mercy.' Thäoran exhaled a weary sigh, hoping that what he had just said would not come to pass.

With his keen eyes still fixed on the road outside, watchful and alert for anything that may approach, he briefly relayed what had transpired these past few days to Luna. He liked having a fellow elf in their company as it reminded him of home. He would like to get to know more of Luna and hope they can become friends.

'The goblins invaded Botkinburg,' Thäoran informed Luna, 'and kidnapped two young boys. Twins. We have offered to track down the foul goblins and, if possible, rescue their prisoners. The head officer of Botkinburg has put a bounty on the goblins-well, their right ears, anyway. Frankly, I don't see why he didn't just put a bounty on their heads. I suppose heads will be more difficult to transport,' he added with a soft dark chuckle. 'So, what brings you to these dangerous parts?'

Subject: Apprenticeship on Blacktooth Ridge?

Thäoran's sharp gaze never wavered on the group before him, but he did relax a little. The boy-John was his name, Thäoran noted-didn't seem to be a threat at least if the clumsiness of the apprentice was anything to go by. Why, the squire seemed able to barely handle his sword. Armand and Ludovic, however, he was still wary as they appeared more hardened and experienced in the ways of the world. As for Constantine himself, he was exceptionally cautious as he knew nothing of his kind. Humans and, of course, elves, he had much knowledge, but dragonborn...he had only heard them uttered in stories told around the campfire back home when the elven bards recounted tales of the mysterious creatures. Elves have been known for their exaggeration so Thäoran did not believe much of what was said about Constantine's race, but now he was in the presence of a dragonborn, he was to learn first hand of what his kinsmen said was true.
He was surprised to encounter a fellow elf as-as he had learned back in Botkinburg-elves were an uncommon sight in these parts, so, as wary as he still was, he was nevertheless eager to converse with him.

For now, Thäoran decided to be a little more pleasant and appear to let his guard down. Give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves with it. That's if they were untrustworthy.

The elf closed the few feet still separating him from the dragonborn.
'Hail,' he greeted. 'Please forgive my earlier suspicion and my guarded and hostile approach. One can never be too careful in these dark times with enemies lurking behind every rock. My name is Thäoran and I hail from the South. Again, forgive me but I would rather not extend my hand to you at this time. Please understand the reason for my caution.'

The elf gave John a hard look, scrutinising the boy as he asked Constantine,

'These are dangerous lands for a mere squire to be trained in. My apologies but he does not seem ready for what he encounter around here. Though I suppose if he does not experience the dangers first hand, he will never learn. As for-what did you state their names where? ...Ah, yes, Armand and Ludovik. I would know more of how they came to be in your service, if you would care to enlighten us in what is sure to be an interesting tale, for yours is an odd group.' Here, Thäoran chuckled as he thought of what his own group consisted of. 'Yes, I am aware that my companions too are an odd bunch. So, if my friends permit it, you may accompany us as we take shelter from this storm.' The elf's eyes flicked upwards and he beheld the rapidly darkening sky, the clouds rolling in an ominous cloak heavy with much rain, the thunder like the threatening growl of an agitated dragon. 'And shelter we must make soon,' he added. 'What say the rest of you?' He turned to his companions. 'May Constantine and his fellows join us as we make camp?'

Subject: Here Be Dragons

Thäoran was just starting to make his way over to Dok to assist him with the grisly task of dispatching the remaining goblins when his sharp elf ears picked up the sound of gravel crunching under multiple pairs of boots. Alert and wary, Thäoran spun sharply around, hand instinctively grasping the hilt of his rapier. His emerald cat-like eyes fixed on the newcomers and his brows rose in surprise at the sight he beheld. A small group of dragonborn were making their cautious way towards him and his companions. He was not well versed in their kind, so his own caution did not dissipate, nor did his hand stray from his blade. The lead dragonborn raised his hands in what appeared to be a submissive gesture and claimed they meant Thäoran's group no harm. Should he trust them? Again, he knew little of their race so he decided he could not take their words at face value. No. Their actions would be what would make him decide wether they mean good or ill. Narrowing his eyes suspiciously and tightening his grip on his rapier's hilt, he warily closed a few feet between himself and the dragonborn.
'Halt!' The elf called, though he was careful not to raise his voice too much, lest any stray goblins were wandering about nearby. 'Who goes there? And what business do you have with these goblins?' His eyes never left the lead dragonborn as he awaited his answer.

Just read your latest DM post for Cipher and Guardian. Is it a good idea for Guardian to take a peek outside the cubicle? I want to find out what the source of the noise is but at the same time I don't want expose myself or Cipher. Especially Cipher, considering she's totally vulnerable right now and can't defend herself.

It's okay. I'll wait until Cipher's finished her Netrun. It's probably a bad time to call Blossom, right? She's busy.

Sweet, dragonborn!
Question before I post, Nomad. In many fantasy tales I've read, elves have a special connection to dragons. Is this the case with the dragonborn of Blacktooth? Do they have any special affinity with the elves?

Guardian's MedScanner uttered a series of high pitched beeps just as the MedTech was finally about to speak to his old friend.
'Shit,' he muttered as he looked at the screen. 'I gotta go, Bloss. Cypher's vitals just started spiking. Nothing too bad at the moment, but I need to focus in case they get any worse. I'll call you back later. Or we can catch up when we meet. I miss you, girl. Can't wait to see you again. Bye for now.' He hung up.
'Alright,' Guardian said in a low voice. He hoped the beeping coming from his MedScanner wouldn't be heard by anybody outside the cubicle. 'What's going on in there, Cypher? I'll give you a little boost.'
He injected the Trauma 1 serum into the NetRunner to lower her vitals back to normal. He'd have to restock again at the earliest opportunity.

Subject: It's Good to Hear Your Voice, Old Friend...*Guardian Calls Blossom*

((OOC: I'll delete this if, for whatever reason, it's not a good time to call Blossom))

Guardian checked the readings of Cypher's vitals carefully. Everything seemed to be in order, so he decided to contact his old friend and the one that got him this gig, Blossom.

Pulling out his agent, he hesitated. What do you say to someone you haven't seen in years? He'd just be happy to hear her voice again. Swallowing his uncertainty of what he was going to say, he decided to just let his heart do the talking. Whatever came to mind. Inhaling, steadying his nerves, he finally dialled her number.

((OOC: Do I assume Blossom answers, or do I wait for her to answer in a post?))

Subject: Just The Ears? Their Entire Heads Should Be Decapitated!

As Dok translated the foul little creature's smug and taunting words, Thäoran could feel the heat under his skin start to rise as rage began to smother him, but he knew he needed to, as difficult as it was, to not let the goblin effect him so much, lest his anger get the better of him and clouds his mind. The fiendish little creature thinks the noble and wise race of elves will fall to them? Clearly the goblin's mind had been muddled by whatever foul concoction was in its wineskin.
The elf rased his sword, but then, with effort, lowered it and inhaled deeply through his slender nose, trying his utmost to calm himself. He then pondered the goblin's words. These...Red Caps had no business in Tharündil? Then why had his father been taken by them? If they had no business in the elves' homeland, then why be there at all? The tricky monster was lying. He must be.
He spoke to Dok once more.
'Please ask this filth why, if the Red Caps had no business in the elves' homeland, they were there at all and what do they want of my father whom they took prisoner and hauled him off to parts unknown.'
