Subject: This seems very complex...

I was looking over Talca's character sheet and this style of roleplay appears to be very complex and rather difficult with all the numbers and stats and stuff. I think it maybe hard to get my head around what everything means and when to apply certain things at what time and stuff.

Subject: The New Talca!

Yes, that's fine, my 'Talca' can be the actual Talca's son. As for his name...hmmm... if I suggest a few, could you pick one, please? Alright, here they are: Arandor, Törkul, Räyne, Garen, Vren, Ishran. All made up from the top of my head so sorry if they suck!

As for weapons... twin rapiers (don' know how much damage they do in AD&D) called Talons, a dagger called Dragon Fang and a bow called Dragon Wing.

Animal companions... poor animals! I was hoping they wouldn't be hurt. I thought they were just there as a novelty not as actual characters who can take hits and die. Alright, then, if you're allowed dragons, some kind of dragon, please, if you can. I know now that the selection of the animals is random so I don't know if I can get a dragon, but still...

As for the rest of Talca's form, I like it as is. Thank you!

I love rangers! They're like me: animal lovers!

Thanks for answering my question, guys!

I read Talca's information and I have a vague idea of what a Ranger does: he finds a safe path through dangerous environments, correct? Does he have any other duties?

Just read over Talca's information, and I love him! I'll take him of Eol's hands. Only one thing I'd like to edit: Animal Companions. An elf needs an animal companion or two! May I have a wolf and a hawk? Thank you!

If you send me the open characters I'll see if they're for me. I love dragons and fire if that's any help. No, I'm obsessed with dragons and fire lol! XD
I'm really enjoying my time in the Inn so far. The community is great with really friendly and welcoming Innmates. To be honest, at first I was rather scared (if that's the right term) because I was new and I saw that this site was for hardcore roleplayers (as opposed to this other site I'm on, Quotev, where most of them are basic when it comes to roleplay). I was then quite intimidated and concerned that I would not meet the standards for the level of roleplay on this site. Plus, because I was new, I was afraid that all the veteran roleplayers here would look down on me and not want to bother helping me.

Well, all those concerns were very quickly dismissed when Brom welcomed me to the fold with open arms and pointed me in the right direction. I have since made some great friends such as Nomad, Giddy, breebles and, of course, Brom, my fellow players in Wheel of Time. They've all been really kind and made me feel like one of the guys lol. t_catt11 (I think some people call him/her by a different name?) is also a really helpful and welcoming admin who's always there to answer any questions or concerns you may have. I'm on a website where it's literally impossible to directly talk to any members of the site staff other than send a message in this 'help' box thing that they never reply to anyway. They're practically ghosts. So it's a nice change to finally see an an admin who actually cares for their members and works hard to, as I said, help them and make them feel welcomed.

Listen to rambling on (or don't lol)! I just had to get that out there. So yes, a great site with a great community!

Subject: Man, I have SO many!

I'm OBSESSED with DC, so pretty much all the DC movies lol! I do have favourites, though:

(In no particular order)
Batman and Harley Quinn (it's hilarious!)
Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay (so badass!)
Batman: Assault on Arkham (another badass Suicide Squad movie)
The Tim Burton Batman movies (classics!)
Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths (the dark 'Justice League' is cool)
Suicide Squad (not the best plot but still a fun movie)
Batman: Under the Red Hood (a well made movie based on the comics. Really explores the father/son relationship between Bruce and Jason)
Batman Year One (goes back to Bruce and Jim's roots when they just started out. Interesting)
Justice League (Live action. good action scenes. Didn't like the Flash's costume, though. The tv series costume is much better)
Wonder Woman (Again live action. Just wow! Brilliant movie!)
Batman V Superman (I loved the plot and how they brought the two iconic superheroes together)
Batman Ninja (a crazy over-the-top movie-as you can expect from a Japanese anime lol. It's just great!)
Justice League Dark
And there's more!

Don't know if this should be in the recruitment thread, but if anyone has any fantasy roleplays along the lines of the classic knights, kings, medieval, magic and dragons that is open for business and is accepting new members, please inform me!

I am currently only in one RPG on here and would love to participate in more! Thank you!

I would love to roleplay in this!
A few questions:
1) Is there an active roleplay on this currently?
2) Are elves considered non-human and are they therefore slaves/former slaves etc?
3) Is it possible to play as a dragon or at least half-dragon?

Is this RPG completely original, or is it based on anything (book, show, movie ect)? Do I need to be familiar with the thing it's based on if I'm to join (if it is based on anything that is)?

However, the villagers had little in the way of skilled warriors whereas the raiders had been trained in the art of combat since they were old enough to weild a weapon. They requested help from a neighbouring town, but the mayor refused to assist them, stating that because it had nothing to do with his own people, it was not his concern and he would not risk the lives of his own soldiers. Ardon had succeeded in vanquishing their foe-probably due to simply outnumbering the raiders and/or the Wheel turning in their favour-but they suffered many deaths and casualties which could of been prevented if help had come-deaths that had included the brutal slaying of Rayna, the young girl lying in a thick pool of her own blood, a deep gash sliced across her stomach, entrails spilling out of the slit. Alyrëa would never be able to erase that horrific image from her tortured mind and that was the day her faith in humanity had been shattered.
[End of flashback]

Alyrëa was pulled from her dark past by the sound of heavy boots squelching in the waterlogged earth as Lanur strode towards the shelter of Gleeman's Abode. The Wanderer could contain herself no more, the bloody images of her terrible past still vivid in her mind.

'You would condemn that woman?' She asked quietly, her voice trembling in emotion, a film of tears misting her eyes. 'You would rather satisfy your own desires than assist a person who is in desperate need of our help?' Her voice increased in volume as anger began to warm her cheeks despite the chill air, 'I had almost forgotten how selfish the human race could be. Go on, then, satisfy your own needs. Everyone else be damned! Are you really that self centred... or just a coward?' The final four words she uttered in a thin whisper, her anger increasing to rage, her whole frame shaking. She shot a look of loathing at the man then fell silent.

'Don't,' she complained, a look of deep self sympathy etched on her face. 'I grazed my knee on a nasty thorn, look,' grasping the skirts of her lilac laced dress, she pulled it halfway up, exposing her left knee on which a line of reddened skin was visible, a thin crust of scab covering it.

'Then you should pay more attention to where you're going,' Rayna giggled, 'you're too easily distracted.'
'You're beginning to sound like my father,' Alyrëa muttered, still frowning.
'Well, he's right, isn't he?' Rayna chuckled.
After a few moments, Alyrëa sighed then joined her friend in her mirth.
'Besides,' Rayna contined, gently patting Alyrëa's knee, 'looks like it's already healing up. It'll be gone in no time.'
The two young girls relaxed together in companiable silence as the Sun slowly arked across the clear azure sky, the peaceful day showing no sign, giving no warning of the horrors to come.
A high ululation cut through the calm air like a white hot razor through butter as a company of forty strong horsemen galloped into the village, the horse's hooved trampling anything they encountered. Judging by their midnight black attire, they appeared to be raiders from the Northern lands. The leader, who wore a black helmet traced with silver filligree, reined in his steed and his men halted behind.

'Greetings,' the intruder hissed in a thin voice reminiscent of a angry snake, 'we have come for your harvest. Comply and co-operate with our demands and we shall leave in peace, resist...,' the citizens in closest proximity to the vile man heard soft sinister chuckle through the veil that obscured his mouth. 'We will have ourselves some fun.'

An elderly voice suddenly cried out from the rear of the crowd as Tirian, the village chief, rushed forwards in order to express his anger at the situation.
'No, you cannot!' Tirian protested, 'our young and old will require the sustenance for the harsh Winter days and nights. They could perish without it!'
'That's not our concern,' the raider sneered.
'As village chief, I am responsible for maintaining my people's welfare. I will not-' his tirade of protests were cut abruptly short and he toppled face down in the dirt, a few ragged breaths weakly escaping his lips which were beaded with spots of crimson blood before being silenced forever. The cruel shaft that had caused his tragic demise protruded from the small of his back, the arrow fletched with a raven feather, the cloth around the arrow stained a deep red.
'Can't say we didn't warn you,' the leader sneered.

The citizens of Ardon stared in shock at the sudden and swift death of their beloved chief before they regained their composure. Instead of discouraging the citizens of further resistance out of fear as the raiders had hoped, Tyrian's death only served to inspire them to stand up for their lives and avenge their fallen chief.

Subject: I apologise but...

[I will have to post this response in several posts because twice now when I have gone to post the whole thing at once, it failed to send and the site crashed]

Alrëa's thin lips curled into a slight smile with the relief that her fellow travellers had all pledged their assistance to her in rescuing the Aes Sedai-all except one, it seemed.

Blood and ashes,' the bear-like woodsman growled, 'you heard him. This is a matter which does not concern us. I have travelled a good distance and am due a meal and a roof over my head. If you lot wish to pursue this, it be at your own risk,' Lanur appeared to be in such a hurry to escape the situation that he almost collided with Thren.

Alyrëa swallowed, taken aback and saddened that anyone could be so selfish. Taking a deep breath of the crisp, chill air that bit into her cheeks, the Wanderer's mind drifted back many years prior to the current day...

[Flashback]
The beaming rays of the midmorning Sun bathed the tranquil village of Ardon in its soft, warming rays, nursing the crops thriving in the hardworking farmers' fields and enticing the citizens out of their sturdy homes to enjoy a day of leisure in the perfect weather. The birds, too, were trilling blissfully in the tall, sturdy oaks which were just beginning to cloak themselves with their Autumn colours. The songs of the birds were joined by the merry laughter of the children chasing each other through the earthy streets, or else wrestling in the dirt (the latter an act for which their mothers were sure to scald them for when their children returned home filthy). Alyrëa herself, at the tender age of seven, was sat on the grassy front yard of her house, telling to her best friend Rayna tales of her most recent adventures in the nearby forest when she had accompanied her father to gather timber to construct a shed and to hunt in order to fully stock their meat storage for the rapidly approaching Winter. She told of large black bears, of unusual birds, of horned stags racing through the thick foliage of the forest floor, of carp with irridescent scales that glistened as the rays of the Sun kissed their bodies that her father had caught in the river- and of how she had landed face first in the undergrowth due to her lack of attention on where exactly she was placing her feet. A half rotted log strewn with fungi that had laid over her path had been the cause of her downfall. Rayna had burst into a loud fit of laughter upon hearing this, causing Alyrëa to frown.
