You can wear the officer's uniform. Brutal is the driver, and the rest is just dressed with the left overs. Our weapons will be out of sight but within reach. Van will be driving shotgun for one, the rest can make up where they sit themselves. Luke will be in the back, since, as you stated, doesn't speak German and doesn't need to be in questioning range.

Like I said at the beginning of this game: I'm your Captain, but I will not be held responsible for everybody's actions in the game, alright? That makes me feel like I'm calling the shots on stuff that people can make up themselves (like who is sitting where in the car).

I don't really think Doc needs to lose the gun, as long as he can keep it hidden.

So, we're all going in the car, if it fits we'll use the seats. If it doesn't fit, we'll use trunk space to keep anybody there.

McGuinness will be riding with us, even though maybe we need to cut down the tree since he grew so attached to it and might want to take it with him for extra camouflage.

Edit: I don't really have time to post right now, and I don't think a reply is necessary to move on. We're ready to roll.

I'm quite sure that if their former master was a great owner, they would have happily opted that perhaps we were hired by him.

Since they were very clear on their feelings on being slaves, their is no guessing as to how they will feel about being (re)united with any slavemaster.

Another problem we have is that our group is put together out of several individuals who didn't know each other beforehand (except the two dwarven brothers). So, I'm sure we won't come to an agreement easily if half of the group wants to go with the plan, and the other half thinks it's better to abort.
And I don't want to risk having Argent's intentions snitched to upper management by one of his team members.

So, I propose the following:

We bring back the slaves to the meeting point, return to the Blue Hand headquarters and get praise or money for our job.
Then, we return to free the slaves and deny involvement. My guess is that at least the half orc should be happy to help out?

I don't really understand how we could've missed this topic. I'm very sorry non of us staffers have replied sooner.

If you want tips and tricks for online gaming, then the best advice I can give you is to read some of the forum games already here at the inn.

I've heard many good things about the Elder Scrolls games, and have bought one of them for Xbox some time ago. Haven't had time to play it yet, sadly.

So, until you know any specific questions, read the forums. But basically, an enthusiastic recruitment post will always find gamers.

Subject: Alright, no more putting it off

Ok guys, it's discussion time. We no longer have time to delay the topic at hand: Slavery.

What are we going to do with these slaves?

Argent, for his lawful part, should abide the law and take them to their master.
But, he is also good, and according to these slaves, and judging by their reaction, they are NOT happy in their current employment. This is not really a matter of following the law because laws are made by men, and men can be wrong. It's like allowing child prostitution and saying: hey, it's legal, so what can I do?

So, my position in this is hereby officially this:
We free these people and make up the best excuse for having them 'escape our grasp'. We're level 1 for crying out loud. People in the guild won't expect much of us newbs.

So, reaction please. We need to figure out what to do.

We'll stick to the plan you first opted, but after the last guard post we go a different route.

And I think there is no way to predict what our situation will be at that point, so there's no real point in waiting any longer.

I do agree on the briefcase however, and the captain will ask Romo to open it on the way.

I didn't want to put in another post in the game with only a few lines. I think we're ready to move on.

I don't see why they wouldn't guess we're not German if they start ordering us around after we're in. We need to get inside the perimeter with a ruse; after that it's a different story.

So, let's take this one step at a time, and focus on getting close to the Castle. We might be able to fake and bluff our way about when we're inside, but the wounded soldier, English captive medic is not something I would recommend to keep up. I'm too afraid they might shoot Doc on sight, or torture him for intel.

We'll go with your idea, Ody, but once we pass the last guard post (assuming there are any), we take a second guess. Is that ok?

To make it really convincing, Doc could claim to be German, take the dead guy's uniform, and we could ask Brutal to shoot him with the lady's crossbow.

Just kidding.

I like the plan. But I hope it won't take Doc out of the game, or separate the team. I'm sure these Nazis don't care about the Geneva Convention.

Subject: Sorry Ye'Olde, didn't see he offered it to the Captain.

Luke took a step back as Brutal flung the briefcase at his feet. He hadn’t noticed the man offering the thing to him and wondered if there were other things he was not taking in. Was the woman having an effect on him?
Her story was odd, to say the least. But it was so weird that he didn’t think she would make it up. She’d most likely make something up that would be more plausible if she was their enemy.

He cast the corporal a questioning look.

“Where’d you find this?”

He decided the briefcase would have to be opened later, since he didn’t want to waste time in reaching the Castle.

When they started changing clothes, he returned his glance at the doctor of anthropology.

“I don’t know what kind of magic the Germans think they have found, and if it is real or not. But that glow suggests there is something going on, and we have our orders. We intend to bring that Castle to the ground, no matter what is going there.”

Glancing around, he noted that most of them had changed.

“If everybody’s ready, we should move.”

Good one, Ad!

I think that indeed that past year has been fruitful in terms of new members. I don't know if you left anybody out, but I'm quite sure you did. All I can say is: if you were left out, don't feel bad, you are awesome too!

Here's to 2011 being a crown year!

The half orc let out a low growl, which made Argent cock one eyebrow and leave the man alone. Apparently it was something he didn't want to be reminded of. Still, the branding was a piece of the puzzle, and he needed an answer to get a better picture of what was going on here. Also, in his mind he still had doubts about returning these slaves to their 'proper owner'. It didn't feel right. He was sure that he himself wouldn't enjoy being branded. In his mind he was weighing possibilities but kept them to himself for now.

So, he took a few steps so he got closer to the half orc, and spoke in a low voice: "It's alright. I'll ask one of these other people."

And he did.

(OOC: Don't know what else to make of it. Argent will inquire about the brand and how people got them. Any information about who, why, what, when will do. )

With the combat at an end they were in a bit of a hurry. It wouldn't be long before more guards would show, and Argent remembered the people inside the office. They would surely alert more reinforcements if they had a chance.

So, urging the slaves to move if they didn't take the initiative themselves, he found his place amongst the group. Echo was already leading them away from the storage building, so Argent happily joined his brother at the back.

"A pity, to have to take so many lives to save others." He said. "You ok?"

Looking at the half orc he nodded his head as their eyes met. It was a silent inclination of respect. The man had proven to be a true warrior.

"I have to ask," he spoke loud enough so the half orc could hear him, "What is that brand there?"
He pointed at the mark on the half orc's skin.

"Captain with all due respect, concerning the German uniforms, it would be best if I portrayed the German officer as I’m the only one of us that speaks fluent German."

Luke nodded.

"Very well. Anybody else who favours a particular dress? I would advice Brutal to be the driver."

He turned to the man and continued: "You won't have to speak any language at all, since your would-be superiors will. But you'll be close to the action if it breaks loose. I'm sure you like that."

Luke ran to the window when the noise interrupted his chat with Miss Hoffstetter. He saw the sky turn an unnatural colour and cursed under his breath.

Are we too late? he asked himself.

Then, turning to the lady, he silently requested her patience with an apologetic look, and called his men.

“Alright men! Everybody get into the house, and we’ll talk business. Somebody just turned up the volume. I don’t know what is happening out there, but we better move fast.”

They did a quick recon of the items found in the house, to see what was usable and what wasn’t.

“Ok, looks like we’ve got enough clothes to make everybody look German enough. We take the car and get a little closer to the castle. If we’re stopped, or questioned, we are German soldiers escorting Miss Hoffstetter and her entourage to Rautenberg. Let’s go people. Hurry up!”

He turned back to Miss Hoffstetter and grinned.

“I really hope you are on our side, lady. For your own sake as much as ours. You can explain yourself further on the way.”

“Miss Hofstetter? Pleased to meet you.” Luke said. “Our business as American soldiers in Germany should be quite clear. We’re not here to enjoy the German mountains and search for Edelweiss.”

He hesitated. Could he trust this woman? She had some kind of business in the Castle, and they would need her help. But he felt reluctant to tell her what their mission really was. On the other hand, if she was going to play them in any way the damage would be done. She knew of their presence. It would be better to tell her and anticipate a deception than beating around the bush and ending up confused.

“We’ve learned the Castle houses weapons of mass destruction; bombs that would be able to destroy whatever enemy the Germans have, including my home land. Now I know that most people don’t like a war, and I can tell you that I’d rather not see any more people die if unnecessary. So, you understand, we cannot allow those weapons to be completed.”

He was going to leave it at that, but his curiosity was triggered.

“What was your business at the Castle?"

Congratulations!

That being said, I would vote against Tanis. I like it as a name for a fantasy character, but as a teacher I know that kids don't always understand names, and would make fun of a name that sounds the same as Tennis. (even though I would pronounce the name as Tah-nis).

Now, Tasselhoff... there's nothing holding you back on that one.

Quickly scanning for the whereabouts of the others, he spotted the next available guard and charged.

You can't really blame Luke's reaction to the situation, can you? He sees the Doc asking for water, Brutal saying he won't get some. I tried to let him fix things up a bit by asking Brutal to get the water, and implying that the Doc maybe missed things outside.

He isn't taking sides... he's just trying to work with a bunch of people who seem set out to dislike/distrust each other.
