There were moments in Gerald Downhouser’s life when he woke up somewhere and had no clue at all where he was and how he got there. Most of these moments he found himself holding some psycho killer or underground porn lord in one hand, and Big Gun #1, with smoking barrel, in the other. He liked it when this happened. It felt good bringing in criminals and putting them in cells. The streets would be safer, which he knew was a relative thing nowadays.

There were also moments when time had passed unnoted, and he was suddenly aware of the fact that he had been sitting in the same position for a long time, waiting for something he wasn’t sure about either. He didn’t like it when this happened. He usually went out to find himself some low-life thugs to arrest, just to feel better.

He woke up with that feeling when they finally arrived at the Blue Room. He felt like years had passed since they entered Percy’s van to set out on their mission.
Aggravated he got up, banged his head against the ceiling for the second time that day, and sat back down again. He growled lowly, like a wolf catching a dangerous scent. Impulsively he began to slap Big Gun #1 into the palm of his hand. It had been too long since he had actively punished a deserving individual, and he was going into the first stages of withdrawal.

Luckily, his attention was caught by what transpired in front of the club. The two kids, who had tried to get in without a membership, were being flung from the scene by an unseen force.

“Oh, hell… brainos.” He sighed, under his breath.

He realised at that moment that those bouncers were not the ordinary kind of doorstep wards. He had grown accustomed to applying bouncers for battering ram purposes, but this would be a different kind of encounter. He had heard of people being able to move objects with their minds. He had once taken out a former magician who had taken up the habit of making knives disappear into people, with his mind. Downhouser had learned that day that the same rules applied concerning hitting people over the head and them no longer being a threat, when it concerns telekinetics. It was just a lot harder to get close to them. This called for more than brute strength and ordinary bullets.
He put Big Gun #1 away, and reached for the even bigger Big Gun #2, and got up.

“We’re here, guys,” Percy said with a disturbing grin, “What’re we gonna do, now?”

“I say we get in there, do a little gambling, have something to drink, and gather some f***ing information,” Katie said quietly, “We know where we need to go after this; it’s time to find out how hard it’s going to be. If anything, just find out if people are already on our trail. I say half an hour, hour tops, and we meet back here.”

“Good.” Gerald said. Half an hour was more than he needed to empty Big Gun #2. He would go in asking questions about the whereabouts of the drugs and convincing anybody unwilling to cooperate that it was unwise to refuse assistance.

He got up, Big Gun #2 feeling like a solid extension of his front arm, and headed for the bouncers, when suddenly he felt a slender arm slipping into his own. He looked at his flank, and noted Katie, looking like a cheap version of herself. He gave her a questioning look, wondering what she was doing. Than he remembered that they had something that resembled an actual plan, and he decided to go with it and see where it got them. After all, it was not the first time he had been a personal bodyguard. Guarding bodies was something he did quite well.

Been reading up on the game... it's still awesome, even if it's just 5 pages.

You can't let us down, Grugg... Downhouser will have you if you do.

Activity? Can it possibly be?

IF this does pick up, and Grugg is not just a broken record, but a whole collection of them just returned from the restoration service, I'm definitely in.

Good to see new games starting up. Wish I had the time to join in the fun, but it seems you have a great bunch of players already.

Have fun people!

Hey Guys,

I found this trailer online. Not sure if it's going to be the best movie ever, but it's a movie about roleplaying:
Zero Charisma

Hope it will be decent enough.

Topic: Oblivion
Subject: Bolivian... eh...

Saw this a while ago, and was happily surprised to see that for once I was not disappointed by my own imagination after a proper trailer. What that means is that usually studios go, what some call, the commercial way. Instead, Oblivion finally showed us that Sci-fi is more than monsters and strange planets and those humanoid aliens who *gasp* might just be our forefathers. Tom Cruise's protagonist's hardest battles are with himself, it seems.

What Oblivion suffers most from is that it does not go the full way. It does have its corny moments, and the characters could be fleshed out better. Clearly, management didn't have full belief in the alternative, non-hollywood route. And let's be honest, few movies can pull that off with a profit (which is what it's all about really).

But Oblivion is worth your time, and your money. Go see it, before it's replaced by lesser Bombast.

Very cool.

Don't know how far you're willing to go:

HOPgoblin

OwlBEER

Or more along the line of your original title:

Sovereign Sylvari

Country Gnome

Khordaldrum Kegmaster

That's a tough call, Pekka. It depends on what she can take.

Did she see LOTR? If so, she'll love the Hobbit. If she hasn't, and you don't think she can take LOTR, don't take her. The violence is just as harsh. There's hardly any blood, but there's death, and the violence that does happen is perhaps even a little heavier.

So I think you should judge how screamish she is by what movies she has seen. I think, 13 would be a good age, but kids nowadays can take more than we did at the same age.

Can't believe nobody has written anything about it yet on the site! I saw it last weekend and thought it was very entertaining. It was a little long at times, but overall I was just loving it. At least they didn't rush things, as happens so often in films trying to keep to the time-limit.
The tone was lighter than LOTR, but this is not a kids' movie. It's for adults who can still connect to the feeling they got when first reading the book.

This is not the Hobbit as Tolkien wrote it, but I don't really care. As long as they don't alter the book to resemble the movie, I'm fine with the additions. What they added, they added to make this a more exciting story. If they can keep up this quality, splitting the book into three films is justified.

Let me know what you guys thought! Do you agree with me? Are there things you wish they hadn't done? Please share.

Well, I've been waiting for a while to see the trailer for this. Marc Forster has been making some pretty great movies. Still, I don't know if I'm overly enthusiastic or not, but I can say one thing for sure... you've never seen zombies on this kind of scale:

Let me know what you think, or if you've read the book (I didn't), what your opinion is.

Don't think about it, just give it a go!

That would be my advice. And yes, Fantasy seems to be the genre people react to most. But if you have a good idea, don't be afraid to post it up. Maybe the time is right for something else. If nobody bites, you can always try for something else.

Good luck!

I'll be really slow with posting in the near future. There's a lot of stuff happening and I need to focus my attention elsewhere. Good thing this game isn't going very fast.

I'll be keeping track of the progress and post as frequently as I can, and after we get an update of course.

I'm really sorry for all the delay, folks. I am, and have been, very busy with other things that require my attention. It will be quite some time before I will be able to post. Perhaps it's better if you don't wait for Jorak.

He was going to spike Kit's drink to make her fall in love with Jonathan the town's smith. She was exactly right when she thought he was trying to hook up his 'son' (he's not really Jorak's son). The potion is very subtle though, and she might realize her behavior is a bit unlikely, but I doubt she would see through his 'scheme'. In fact, he means well, just doesn't know how to do the right thing here. He does know, however, how to keep a straight face.

Keep the game moving on. When I get more time I'd be happy to join you all again.

He left the woman at her table and headed back to Jonathan. When he was but half way there he was stopped in his track upon the entrance of a red headed woman. She was not just beautiful. He had seen beauty in all of its forms and he had seen an even larger share of its opposite. But this woman seemed made of desire. It was in the way she moved, in the glance of her eyes, the way her lips curled and her hair danced in that untamed rhythmic tangle.

The Scarlet Lover, he though, and grinned at the fitting comparison.

She would steal many hearts this evening. As he looked around, he noted he was not the only one staring at her. Peeking back at the town’s smith, he saw Jonathan staring at her as if he’d seen water burn. This was by far the prettiest girl the town was ever graced with, and Jorak’s grin widened even more at the young man’s obvious thoughts.

But while holding the grin, his thoughts raced to other corners of his mind. He frequented the Half Blind Warrior, was a regular guest. Yet never on any evening had he seen so many new faces. Especially such beautiful faces as the two women who had entered. He had spoken to one of them, and a sudden desire to do the same with the red head emerged. Perhaps there was something going on. If he spoke to her, maybe he could define a pattern and figure out if he should be concerned or not. For he was beginning to feel concern. Concern for his own cover. Concern for the town he lived in. And he had to admit: he was feeling concern for his fellow townsfolk.

He walked over the where the game had commenced and tapped the woman on the shoulder.

“When you’re done with your game, I would like to offer you a glass of Lockshir Cider. It’s a stiff drink, with a cool after taste and a body like no other beverage you’ve ever consumed.”

He smiled his toothless smile at her.

“I’m at the table over there, with that young man.”

Watching his fellow guards, Ymerion smiled softly. It was an odd bunch, but he felt like there was a promise to the lot of them. It would take some time, but the potential would eventually surface.

One of the Khords, he would still have to figure out who was who, replied to his suggestion for Havaluk to be leader: "But, Would he live up to such namesake? To live in the shadow of a mountain would have you believe you are not on your own path."

Ymerion wanted to reply, but he didn't have to. The half-orc spoke first, and his words formed no objection. They indicated that he didn't desire to be leader, but that was perhaps exactly what they needed. Better somebody who doesn't think he's suited than some overconfident hothead.

In the next few moments, nobody else stepped up or voiced their reservations. Ymerion held his tongue to see what would happen.

"Fine, if none of you sorry lot think you can lead, I'll do it. Don't expect me to work miracles though."

"We don't expect it." the sylvari ranger said, warmly, "and therefore you'll surprise us all."

He got up from the bunkbed and nodded to Havaluk's mention of going outside.

"Mind if I join you? We can waste our time laying here, but I'd rather see what the lay out of this encampment is."

(OOC: the intention is to get a good view of the group's current situation. Where are their barracks, where are the tents/buildings of their direct superiors. Where does Blarg have this quarters. Also, how far are they from the bourder exactly. That kind of stuff is what he hopes to find out.)
