Klik has no problems 'mending' any number of metal implements in the room to increase party wealth, and even will allow the elven survivor one to take and use or sell for his own wealth so long as he keeps whatever he sees on this journey secret.

will update character to 3rd level cleric of life soon.

Subject: Klik and making old things new

Klik felt the wind abate as the door to the old tower was firmly closed; shielding the party from both environment and the shambling denizens of the night which stirred once the skies twin suns dipped beyond the horizon.

Almost immediately, Klik's mind was filled with the memories of metal clad soldiers saluting a figure through who'se eyes he experienced the vision, after locking a strangely regal elven lady beyond a sturdy door. The memories shifted suddenly and Klik found himself now in the body of a sickly old man, garbed in but simple robes with crimson ribbons wrapped around his palms as he cast curative spells and prayers of healing apon similar plate cast soldiers. This time his visage was reflected in their polished armor now caked with battle wear blood and dirt.

Looking around the room, Klik determined this was likely a barracks seemingly left in a hurry and never reclaimed.. weapons were strewn about the floor, and as Klik bent low to pick up a mace, or perhaps a morningstar in it's former life, the cleric shook his head and clicked his mandibles at the shame of seeing such a weapon fallen into such disrepair as rust seeped through the once tempered steel, the iron bands bent and chipped, it was an affront such rare and valuable materials were left to rot.

Turning to his companions who were also looking over the wares Klik spoke out with his mind.

This place seems ravaged by time, and it bears memories and visions not my own. I wouldurge caution..but as rest is needed i will dutifully stand watch."

Lifting the broken weapon before him horizontally he passed his smaller forearms over the weapon as he continued to speak.

"But God favours the bold, and we shant waste this hidden blessing.. let God's power turn back the hands of time and reveal what once was..."

As he finishes he chants in Kreen a prayer of Mending, and as his clawed fingers pass over the weapon, the rust flaked away bearing fresh polished metal underneath. Dents and chips reformed and in seconds the weapon was as good as new. With a prayer to Ilmater Klik came out of his reverie to what he expected was a number of shocked expressions.

Can the elf burn his own hit die to put him over the 1 hp?

Doc is ok with helping go grab some backpacks if that's what having enough rations requires.. Doc has 4 left according to the list, but that's not enough to feed everyone. He'll share with morrigu and as always, take watch should that be required for a longer rest.

Subject: line of questioning..

Sir S has my thoughts nailed as well.. Klik would like to know how the zombies infection spread, and whether the other elves would even attempt ot check and see if he or any of the fallen stayed down or rose again.

I mean we saved them and they scurried like mice without so much as a thank you.

Also. regarding the elf. Now that he's 'healed' Will he come with us? is he willing to join the party for safety sake (understanding that he's likely not getting a cut of the reward should we return) or maybe he can earn a share? who knows... What are his strengths, weaknesses, alot of insight checks and random probing while remaining civil and not 'interrogating' as so much just trying to get a grasp of the situation and hopefully make a ally/friend out of the deal rather than a burden.

After the felling of the last foe, the elf's limp form was gingerly carried to the top of the nearby rise, where vantage points were given and a rest could be taken to replenish strength and formulate what to do with the elf they had saved.

Doc Klik though imposing and naturally unnerving to many races was as as gentle a hand as any to brandish a knife under the pretense of saving a life. The large man looked down at the elf as he drew a more stable breath, his compound eyes looking down as something reminiscent of a grin crossed his lipless mouth satisfied with his handiwork.

[At the start of the rest]
Projecting his thoughts to those around including the elf:
Welcome back, you are safe now. Don't move too quickly. I've patched you up but wouldn't want to bust a stich now. [Looking around at the current surroundings and lack of any support of the elves allies] It would seem your companions haven't the stomachs for this line of work and have scurried to the winds. Can you stand? We shouldn't tarry long in this place; but I would surmise my fellows here would have some questions for you. Starting with your name sir?

rewarding the 'tough choices' or risk / reward is what makes games memorable

I'm all for rp penalties due to actions having consequences for our actions, but rewards and such are always nice too. (dont wanna penalize being 'good' in a 'good' campaign too often to early or adventurers may just say forget it and return to menial lives lol

Klik didn't even notice Morrigu's fire bolt, so fixated was he on saving the poor elf before him. Ochit, Reynard and Crowe had neared and formed a defensive line. With the three of them there he was able to focus on his medical treatment of the fallen elf.

As his prayer finished he watched a nearby zombie flee, and in kreen he clicked his approval, and appreciation for Ilmater's aid.

(Again will only risk a sacred flame now if absolutely necessary otherwise he's focused on the injured and letting the others fight)

As Ochit neared to provide aid, the warrior asked to borrow one of Klik's shields while he worked upon the fallen elf. Klik knew he was not impaired while wielding his bone and leather shields; additional appendages would work the bandages and healers kit. It would however strengthen the bond between them if he trusted in the warrior by acquiescing his request, so he hefted a shield towards Ochit to use, and refocused his work upon saving the fallen elf.

Reynard, Crowe, and Klik had formed a formidible bulwark as they moved to intercede the advancing undead upon the outnumbered elves. For being three strangers, of three races, from three corners of the known world, they moved remarkably well in unison. Between then, one of the undead fell beneath their blades, and they had successfully reached an elf to protect. That being said however, a second elf succumbed to the blows of what seemed to be a faster, more agile undead, and as his form crumpled to the ground, his last audible breath spent in an expression of pain, Klik's medical morality kicked in and clinched his thought process.

Projecting his thoughts to Reynard and Crowe:
I must try and save that man if it is within my power, once this fiend is dispatched, please try and assist me with that deviant.

Breaking away from the almost slain sprinter as they were being called, and utilizing his shields as best to try and parry any attacks of opportunity as he did so; Klik made his way towards the fallen elf with all haste. Noticing a second sprinter nearby, he did his best to not only reach the fallen elf, but also make enough noise with the clanging of his shields to draw his attention away from the third elf (E2) as he neared.

Reaching the fallen elf, Doc's smaller, nimble hands worked feverishly with his Healer's Kit to stabilize the wounded elf (using a use for an auto stabilize)

(Subsequent rounds and situational reactions)
(If Klik takes damage from the sprinter he'll counter with a Sacred flame utilizing his extra arms to cast it. Dex save DC 13 vs 1d8 radiant damage)
If klik drops below 9 hp he'll pray to Ilmater in Kreen for aid and cast cure light wounds 1d8+5 hp
(both spell casts he will block his hand motions with his shields and the body of the sprinter)
(Once the three slower zombies are within attack range, Klik will channel divinity Turn undead to cause them to flee and give advantage on attacks of opportunity from those defending and try to turn the tide if at least 2 of them are still standing when / if they reach the group.)

Klik's purpose here and now was to secure the safety of the wounded elf, and if possible secure a new defensive perimiter with Reynard and Crowe nearby. Ideally with the surviving elves forming a 5 man barricade from which to fight the sprinter / slower moving zombies.

looking at the map it's feasible but verifying for time. Can Klik make it to the E2 (currently 'dying' by game mechanics) or 'dead' by description? Klik has the means to stabilize 'death saves' So just curious if I can close the gap. (yes that would entail putting myself directly by the Sprinter but just want to weigh options. Otherwise, the 3 man group up seems to be working well and at least we should be able to save 2 of the elves.

never got the map... and havent seen anything in either thread for almost a week now... guessing real life caught up with impulse again.

So for now. Klik is still going to stick to his previous post.. defend the elves so they can escape, help his party utilizing double shields, and only use Channel divinity turn undead or sacred flame as a last resort.

Subject: The Doctor is In

If Trossach and Crowe join the battle. Doc will bear his shields and enter the fray keeping his distance as best he can but trying to be a bulwark between the injured / retreating elves. (meaning if the zombies / sprinters etc try and engage the presumed 'disengage action elves' and outpace them somehow, Doc will try and aim to be in a position to cut them off.

That being said. Doc will utilize his two shields (no weapon) and become a mobile barricade utilizing the higher ac to protect those trying to retreat.

In the interest of Dm's who post more than a single round of combat at a time:

While being the bulwark, he'll telepathically try and motivate any elves 'behind him' to try and flee, or utilize the time he's buying them to take down the foes focusing one at a time.

If it looks like the battle is going poorly for whatever reason. or he looks to be overrun (at least 3 within range of the ability)

Doc will visually start clicking his mouth and audibly making sounds incoherent to anyone else, while his non-weapon wielding left hand bound with the red ribbon will finger the strands as he calls forth a "Channel Divinity" Turn undead.

If that fails.. he'll use his shields to block sight from those around him best he can and use his free hands to incant 'Sacred flame' and try to put them down that way.

That noted will be used as a last resort though as he's very hesitant to let out any inkling of his divine link.

After you post anything included can be back posted on and put more eloquently from an in game perspective.

Subject: yeah

It seems like the party is so different in thought processes and personal values that it's going to be difficult to find that 'bond' until . unless we make it further as a group.

Dashing off to save 'another elf' because you're the same race may be fine and well, but it really has little context in this situation especially when everyone else save Trossach has made viable reasons not to endanger ourselves.

You have to remember as well this isnt your standard D&D setting. It's Dark sun, a brutal world where even basic survival is much harder, where food and water are not plentiful etc etc, and that would in and of itself harden a populous as a whole. so level one 'heroes' are probably VERY rare as most wouldn't see level 2. That would be common knowledge you as a gypsy of all people would know.

That being said. if Crowe is that enamoured with the belief that blood is thicker than ...well... anything, Cool! I just don't want to see it tear the party apart so early on lol.

Finally.. Doc will have to wait and see what happens with Impulse's post to be able to react.

EDIT: forgot we're level 2.. so maybe you ARe one of the few who'se brazen nature has made it haha..

Doc will enter the fray but only after a description / map )please?) from the DM.
