I've posted for Ander. FYI - Saturday Beta shift is when he hosts a poker game for senior officers.

USS Peregrine; Deck 1, Bridge - 1500

"Understood, Lieutenant Sa'eridon.  I will have Lieutenant Ferrero provide those once we have made the determination.  Drake out."

Even before the captain called his name directly, Ander was sending the coordinates he'd already prepared as a likely repositioning over to Drake's PADD for approval. Petty Officer O'Connor stands nearby waiting to take their shift.

"Lieutenant Ferrero, double-check the probe's sensor ranges and identify a safe spot for our beacon that hides it from Calican scans. Double-check to ensure that there are no further probes to concern ourselves with, and perhaps consult with Science as a sanity check on your plan."

"Aye, Captain," Ander responds. There's no need to add that he's already done the calculations and scans while giving O'Connor and Moriden a chance to stretch their wings a little and confirm his calculations. Instead, the Chief Operations Officer shunts the report he's compiled over to Science as well, with the added note, Please confirm and deliver to Engineering.

In the background, Silas continues, "Tochi, if you are planning to stick around for a bit, you have the Conn. If not, I believe that Ensign Owen is the scheduled officer of the watch?"

“Aye, sir,” Tochi returns, glancing over his shoulder to regard Silas, “She’s on her way. We told her to put her studies first given today’s circumstances, but she should be arriving straight away.”

Drake nods, "Very well."  He then cut his gaze to the Orion lieutenant at Tactical. "Lieutenant Taissud," he says, indicating the junior TAC personnel, "it appears that your station is well in hand for the time being. Would you mind joining me in my ready room, please?"

Ander doesn't hear her reply as he steps back from the conn and motions O'Connor in. "She's all yours, Mr. O'Connor," he adds with a slight smile. "Keep an eye on those long-range scans. We've already had one surprise. Don't much need another."

"Yes, sir," Aoife responds, smiling back with a slight blush to her freckled cheeks that Ferrero attributes to humor more than anything romantic.

He's no longer needed on the Bridge and the Latino is happy to be free to pursue his own interests. After all, it's usually his day off and Saturday's Beta shift is reserved for some good ol' fashioned poker. This game is played with commodities and hasn't been running for long enough to cause anyone concern. That it's only for officers is another plus.

Turning in the lift, he looks out at the Bridge and wonders who would be joining him in his quarters tonight and what little delights they are bringing with them.

Stardate 2365.05.15
USS Peregrine; Deck 2, COO Quarters - 1606

Whistling, Ander steps back from the hexagonal poker table he's placed center in his quarters. The decks are laid out, the chairs in place... Now all he needs are his players.

=/= Lieutenant Ferrero, an emergency staff meeting has been called in the Officer's Lounge at 1630 hours. Attendance is mandatory. =/=

Ander closes his eyes for a moment, allowing the imagined aroma of cigar smoke and the flavors of various drinks to pass out of reach as disappointment numbs his body.

"Acknowledged," he grumbles registering the beep from the computer as it accepts his answer. "Computer, what's the time?"

=/= The time is 1607 hours, Lieutenant Ferrero. =/=

Peering about his room with much the same expression as a lost child, he breathes inwardly in deep resignation and makes his way to his closet. Trading his loungewear for his uniform, he spends a few minutes tidying up before making his way to his desk. Pulling up department reports, he scans for any sign of what they might be discussing in the meeting. Narrowing his eyes and furrowing his brow at the report filed by O'Connor, he switches his screen over to other departments, gathering what little information about the situation that he can before he has to calmly make his way to the Officer's Lounge.

Stardate 2365.05.15
USS Peregrine; Deck 1, Officer's Lounge - 1620

Lt. Ferrero casually but purposefully walks into the room where the senior staff is meeting. Glancing about, he smiles and says his hellos to all who are present before taking his seat to the left of the captain's chair. Setting his PADD on the table in front of him, he quietly observes those who are already present and thoughtfully considers the impact of what they are going to be discussing.

Guardian needs to make a MedTech check each day on the wounded. That basically covers all care for the day. If successful against the wound difficulty value, 1 extra point of LIFE is regained and Stun damage is healed at twice the rate.

Vegas looks like he lost a fight with an MMA master, but I already made Guardian's Medtech rolls for the day.

I appreciate you asking. I'm also curious as to why almost everyone has seemed to vanish.

Ferrero can get bees... I don't think Drake would be very fond of that idea and I have a feeling Engineering won't appreciate beehives in the Jefferies tubes.

By way of my thoughts, the worker bees would be the best bet. Maybe with some Engineering personnel actually doing some spacewalking for those delicate tasks.

Stardate 2365.05.15 (Saturday)
U.S.S. Peregrine; Deck 1 - Bridge – 1430

Ferrero’s scans return only one concern and he reports it immediately. “Captain, I believe that the Calican’s have launched a long-range satellite. I calculate that it will be within range of detecting our beacon within a few days. Three, to be more exact.”

That’s more than odd, Ander leans over the panel and triple-checks the scan’s results. According to the little bit of information that Starfleet has on Calican II, they shouldn’t be technologically capable of a probe this far out in the system. They’d barely managed to make it to the moon recently. ¿Que demonios?

"Understood, Lieutenant Ferrero," Drake answers unwaveringly. "It seems that we have underestimated the technical capabilities of the Calicans. We will need to work carefully to avoid detection, and we will need to figure out a way to either shield the beacon from the probe... or, more likely, we'll need to consider moving it to a safer location."

Underestimate, indeed, Ferrero quietly agrees, adjusting the settings of the probe to expand the intensity of the scan directly on the probe. “Aye, sir.”

"Engaging at one-quarter impulse," Tochi reports, "ETA to the nav-beacon: eighteen-point-two-three minutes."

The view on the main screen panned as the Peregrine slides smoothly onto the CFCO's plotted course.

"Bridge to Engineering," the Captain hails.

=/= Engineering, Sa'eridon here. =/=

"Lieutenant,” Drake begins, “it seems that we may need to consider repositioning the beacon once repairs are completed. If that does prove to be the case, we may need to look at updating the programming on it—be advised that this task may also await you."

=/= Understood, sir. =/=

Drake nods, "Thank you. Drake out."

A slight frown crosses the Captain's face. "Lieutenant Ferrero, give me an in-depth scan of the Calican probe, please. I'd like a better idea of the type of sensor range it enjoys, as well as the overall capabilities."

“Already underway, sir,” Ander replies, adjusting the controls once again to amplify a set of charts depicting the x-ray emissions from the probe. Early Earth technology utilized x-rays within their standard loadout. Registering the results, he cross-checks them against the charge emissions of the ions and electrons. Radio and Plasma waves are next. Rudimentary scanning equipment would most likely be the Calican’s best tech. If I remember correctly, the Voyager series probes were just beginning to utilize these scanners… The range of their emissions and the strength of the rays should help me determine their strength.

"Lieutenant Taissud," Drake addresses the officer at TAC, "we are operating under the assumption that the beacon has malfunctioned due to simple mechanical failure. While it seems pointless for a hostile power to simply meddle with a deep space beacon, I want to be sure that our eyes are open. Scan the area carefully, just to ensure that there are no unpleasant surprises."

"Yes, sir," Zhay-la responds, his voice more background noise for Lt. Ferrero. “Have PO. Wright comb over this upon shift rotation," she orders to Reid. "I want a dossier for the Calican system by the end of alpha shift. Consult Science if you need to."

“Lieutenant,” Reid responds, “the analysis is on your PADD, I had already reviewed the data available in the Star Fleet archives on Calican. Although it is not much due to the need to remain distant to preserve the Prime Directive; you will see that as stated they have barely advanced in space flight. Solid and liquid fuels, just enough to reach their own moon.”

Zhay-la hails Security.

=/=Tactical and Security, for all your phaser and brig needs,=/= Blomstedt answers cheekily.

“I need to review protocol with the new staff when manning the watch,” Reid muses.

"Crewman, inform Petty Officer Shaw that she will be inspecting our weapons systems personally for gamma shift, damn the schedule," Zhay-la commands. "I want Engineering apprised of the slightest misalignment before contact is made with the beacon."

=/= Yes, Lieutenant Taissud. =/=

Reid continues, ”If they have been able to reach our probe I would speculate that others have been giving them more advanced tech. The pirates out here would readily trade for ores and other items that the Calican would not know the true value of… We recently had an incident with the Kulder and Rytain over dilithium. Our sweeps need to check for even Romulan activity as we are not terribly far from the Neutral Zone… Mister Blackmon and Chief Brooks are heading this investigation.”

Ander allows the additional orders to fade into the background as he runs the computer through a few more complicated computations. The probe is traveling at 3.25 AU/year which means that it’s been moving for some time to place it this deep.

Drake’s voice echoes in the background as he keys the intercom again. "Drake to Ch'ronnoss."

=/= “Aye Sir?” =/=

"Lieutenant," the Captain spoke, "we have discovered an unexpected probe from the Calicans.  I'd like your insight into their technology, and any other input you'd care to share."

Ferrero glances up to where the captain sits and then adjusts his thought process to include Science.

=/= Intriguing. Roger that, Sir. I shall get the team right on it. =/=

Resolving the equations, Ferrero compiles the information into a single report that the computer then uses to decode and output the probe’s capabilities. Shooting the results to Science, he then sends it directly to the captain’s chair.

“Sir,” Ander pipes up, “The probe’s capabilities aren’t much different than Voyager II’s. It’s been flying a long time, Captain.” Unless there’s some other reason it’s this far out, Ferrero conspires. “The report is on your PADD.”

Splitting his screen, Ander sets one side to mimic TAC’s, using the other side to monitor the continued scans’ effectiveness. At this point, with no apparent danger, he redirects some energy from shields to boost the range of TAC’s efforts. Below the power management panel, he adjusts the communications bands to a wider and older frequency while adding a filter to reduce static. Every culture he’s ever read about has sought to communicate with the stars. These communications could be enlightening and radio waves travel a very long distance in space.

=/= Ch’ronnoss to Captain Drake. =/=

OOC: Assuming confirmation...

=/= Sir, Ensign Eilal is heading up the team. expect updates as information comes in. =/=

Stardate 2365.05.15 (Saturday)
U.S.S. Peregrine; Deck 1 - Bridge – 1417

Lieutenant Ferrero refrained from sighing as the hourly reports from his department melted together before his eyes. For the thousandth time since he’d joined Starfleet, he wondered how he had come to have this life. The screw-up kid that raised hell on the streets of Mexico City is now in charge of an entire ship operations department when all he’d really ever set out to do was avoid prison time. Tapping the index finger of his left hand against the thumb of the same, he counted out twenty-five impressions and then refocused. Wetting his lips with the tip of his tongue, the Latino watches the letters of the report unfold and reposition before his eyes, once again turning into legible words.

"Captain, we have reached the Calican system," Commander Zai announces effectively drawing the Ops officer’s attention to the viewscreen for just a moment.

Silas sets the PADD down. "Thank you, Tochi," he responds. "Lieutenant Ferrero, locate the navigational beacon, please, then relay the coordinates to the helm. Once you have those, Tochi, take us there at one-quarter impulse."

“Aye, Captain,” Ander replies automatically.

Pushing aside his reports, the COO proceeds to activate the scans. It is no surprise to him that the nav beacon shows up relatively quickly, emitting a Starfleet transponder signal. Cataloging the coordinates, Ferrero simultaneously sends them to Toshi’s station, including Tac just to be on the safe side. All of this takes place as Drake calls Engineering.

"Lieutenant, we have reached the Calican system," Captain Drake states with all the inflection of a Vulcan in Ander’s opinion, "We will transmit the ETA to you as soon as we have it; have your team ready for the repair operation."

Lt. Ferrero turns his attention to adjusting the scans, extending their range, and broadening their scope. Furrowing his brow at the initial results, he adjusts for ionic interference and mentally nods as the numbers begin to fall into normal ranges.

=/= Aye, Captain. We are ready when you are, =/= replies the aCEO.

"Very good. Drake out," Captain Drake states. "Lieutenant Ferrero, once you have the beacon located, please perform a complete system scan. It is my understanding that Calican II is the inhabited world here, and our beacon should be well beyond their detection range, but I would like to avoid any probes or similar devices that they may have deployed."

“Aye, sir,” Ander replies with little inflection, his eyes already studying the results of his scans. If he were to be frank with himself, it isn’t that he anticipated Captain Drake’s orders so much as he’s just curious. A win is a win, however, and being ahead of the order is a feather in his cap.

"Very well," Silas muses. "We will do this one by the book. A hopefully rapid repair operation, then out of the system with absolutely no interference with the culture here—in full accordance with the Prime Directive."

Ferrero’s scans return only one concern and he reports it immediately. “Captain, I believe that the Calican’s have launched a long-range satellite. I calculate that it will be within range of detecting our beacon within a few days. Three, to be more exact.”

I put a lot of Streetdeal results in the bullet points of my post. Charlie was busy trying to help everyone and was actually quite successful. Successful enough to increase his Streetdeal Perk by 1. Congrats, Espatier! There's a lot of info to act on in my post for everyone.

Please make sure you have your post(s) in this week. I'd really like to get back to posting once a week minimum.

Blossom is more than a little leary of new people in her life, and despite her friendly, bouncy exterior personality, she holds herself in reserve with anyone who hasn’t proven their worth. She’s still only a couple of days into running with this crew and despite everyone playing nice—Finally, she thinks—she isn’t ready to completely relax. She and Cipher had already spent the morning each performing their own research into the microdisk, compiling their findings to determine the type of reader they needed when the beat-up, well-dressed crooner suddenly broke the relative silence.

Turning to his partner, Casino, the Frank Sinatra look-alike asks, "Hey Pal... did I get out of this scrape with any gig money... or just with my life?"

(OOC: I’m going to assume that Casino will do the honorable thing based on their long-standing relationship.)

“Sh*t,” the other wounded man declares his face flushing with immediate embarrassment, wincing a little as he sits up from a reclining position on the couch. “I’d forgotten, choom. I’ll transfer the eddies pronto.” He fishes out his new agent and works the transaction.

As though stimulated by the break in the silence, Cipher swivels from the barstool and strides boldly across the room to the chair that Fixer has deposited himself in.

"Hey, techie," Cipher holds the microdisk between two fingers so it is presented to the curly-haired man. "You're the one that builds things, yeah? Think if Cred-Stick got his hands on some parts, you could jerry-rig a madpack for us?" She gestures to the group at large, drawing the attention of the others. "Then we can get underway with sticking a middle finger to the corpo after this microdisk."

Fixer takes the disc from Cipher and looks it over. "I can certainly give it a shot. Decisions will be easier with more information and at the moment I have a couple of days—although there is some gear I want to get as well."  He peers up at Cipher. "Yeah, I'll try."

“I’ll flick you the deets for the viewer,” Blossom speaks up, already activating her neural processor to wirelessly transfer the data. “A ‘madpack’—Microdisk Drive Personal Computer. You ever heard of it?”

After a moment of consideration, the techie can only shake his head.

“I’d have been surprised if you had, choom,” Blossom chirps, a smile on her face, her heart-shaped sunglasses holding her platinum hair back from her face. “It’s, like, thirty years old.”

The conversation continues with people offering up their opinions, it is decided that Charlie would expend some energy finding parts so Fixer can create a reader. That sets the techie in motion using the Net to research what he needs.

After everyone hands over a list of needs and wants to Charlie, the team settles for the afternoon to take care of their personal tasks and the fixer sets to work.

Early on the second day of rest, Ghlahn approaches Charlie as he’s getting ready to go teach his class. "I need to step out for a bit,” the Capore Steel solo says. “Gonna meet up with friends.  Might be gone overnight but not sure. Will let you know."

Ghlahn is off to visit with his alt-cult and see if there are any tasks he can work on while the others rest or even as they press on with their next job. This decision places Ghlahn a good eight hours away should the team have need of him. Four hours out and four back traveling at high speed the whole way. Ghlahn needs to rent a car or hire a cab to get there and he has a number of options to choose from. He doesn’t bother Charlie with this detail and makes his selection while the rest of the team remains asleep.

When everyone wakes up, Ghlahn is gone and Charlie is teaching his class. Blossom had an idea overnight. When seeking old tech, where better to search than amongst those who use older tech?

“Echo,” Blossom says as though she just found a secret decoder ring in a box of cereal, “do you think your tribe has a madpack they’ll loan or sell us?”

You are correct, sir. Jury Rig is the roll that would need to be made but Fixer will either need to cannibalize tech that the team already has or rely on Charlie to get him the components he'll need to build the viewer.

Charlie can attempt to find a reader (DC 20) and barring any obstacles in obtaining one (DC 16), he can attempt to find the parts Fixer will need to build one. Obviously, finding one and purchasing it would deliver results faster but it'll cost eddies. Building one will take time to find the components and then additional time to build the device, but will likely be much cheaper.

All right, this is what I figure. You folks want a couple of days of downtime so you need to let me know in either a PM or a post what you're wanting to accomplish in those two days and how you'll spend your free time. Remember that your characters will need to eat, so let me know if you're subsiding on kibble or if you're going for soy-based, or RealFood, eating out... etc. I'm going to post an update on Friday.

Stardate 2365.05.14 (Friday)
U.S.S. Peregrine; Deck 5 - Shuttle Bay 2 – 0402

“Sir?” Chief Petty Officer Tara Palmer approaches Ander with a furrowed brow and flitting eyes, the PADD she holds drawing all of her attention like a black hole.

“Mister Palmer!” Lt. Ferrero responds as though greeting a long lost friend as he looks up from his own device.

“I think there’s been a mistake,” she narrows her eyes and stops a few feet from him.

“On my watch?” Ander widens his eyes and shakes his head, “Unheard of.”

Flicking a glance up at her commanding officer, the woman can’t suppress a slight shake of her head at his demeanor. Everyone else on the Peregrine is still in mourning, being respectfully solemn, except for this new Ops officer. He’s good-looking enough but there’s almost a palpable field of nonchalant cavalierness all about him and Tara isn’t sure she appreciates it. People are dead… sir.

“We have five crates of unknown materials that aren’t listed on the manifest,” she decides to ignore her disfavor and make her report. It’s early, after all, and there’s still a long day ahead.

“You don’t say?” Ander tucks his PADD beneath his left arm as he crosses his forearm over his ribs and rests his right elbow on it. Peering at the support beams overhead he strikes a thoughtful pose complete with stroking his shaven chin with his right hand. “Five?” his head jerks just a little to the side, “Not… say… twelve?”

“Twelve? Sir?” Tara furtively glances up from her screen to attempt reading his face.

“Sí, Mr. Palmer,” Ander grins disarmingly, “It is the numero that follows eleven… typically.”

Pressing her lips together, Palmer returns to scanning the manifest where she confirms her original count. “No sir. Definitely five.”

“Well then,” Lt. Ferrero drops his hands to his sides and tugs at his uniform, ironing out the folds in his jacket. “You see? It could be worse.”

“Sir?”

“There are only five… not twelve. It could be worse.”

“I understand that sir,” Palmer shakes her head a little, the furrow between her neatly trimmed brows deepening. “But, these aren’t supposed to be on board, sir. Should I call Security?”

“Let me think abou—” Ander leans forward and looks first to the right and then to the left before peering directly up from beneath his eyebrows to meet her confused stare, “Shhhh… These crates are part of a top-secret operation that only those with the highest clearance are privileged to know about. That’s why they aren’t on the manifest, Chief.”

Palmer draws in a deep breath. After the recent past events she isn’t sure how she feels about secret containers. There was a rather severe accident in one of the science labs that was caused by materials being smuggled on board that Operations had no idea about. Well, at least in this case, he is the Operations Officer.

“You’re hesitating, Chief,” Ander straightened up and scratches the side of his nose, “It isn’t a good look on you.”

“Yes sir,” Tara responds somewhat reluctantly, “I understand, sir.”

“Bueno,” Ander grins revealing even white teeth that practically sparkle in the shuttle bay light. “Will you please make sure that they are properly ignored by the rest of the department? Gracias, jefa.”

Stardate 2365.05.14 (Friday)
USS Peregrine; Deck 1 - Bridge - Start of Alpha Shift

Whistling a raucous tune he can’t quite place the origin to, Lieutenant Ander Ferrero strolls right into the open turbo lift along with two others he doesn’t know. He continues to whistle the fast-paced notes as each of them departs on their respective decks. What the devil is the name of this música? The thought is preoccupying and keeps him from even consciously recognizing when the lift ceases moving. Squeezing his eyes tightly shut, the Latino male does his best to review his recent playlist, the whole while blowing the unknown tune through pursed lips and tapping a booted foot to the rhythm. Swishing hydraulics give cause for his eyes to pop open again and the whistle to die like a downed aircraft. Running his hands down his chest and tight belly, the Lieutenant smooths out any creases in his uniform and steps onto the Bridge.

According to the schedule, Petty Officer Warren should be on duty for Alpha, but  Ander had reasons of his own to be on the Bridge. Scanning the broad, softly illuminated chamber, Ferrero realizes he’s a little early. Those present are all engaged in preflight activities and barely notice his arrival.

Drawing in a deep breath, Ander strides to the Ops station catching Warren’s eye in the process. Dutifully, PO Warren removes himself from the forward-looking station and turns to monitor the wall station. Taking up his position at the console, Ander enters his credentials and begins his preflight checks. Moridan has already compiled the early morning reports which Ander reviews with alacrity and precision. Everything good here… The Lieutenant then switches over to the system reports and reviews everything from replicator rations to weapons stores. This task takes him right through to the incoming call.

USS Peregrine, Bridge - 10:20

Petty Officer Warren glances up from his terminal. "Captain Drake," he says. "I have an incoming transmission from Starfleet Command."

Ander has been waiting for something solid, some assignment that would potentially bring this ship back to life. ‘Bout time, he thinks but keeps his eyes on the data streaming across the console screen just beneath his fingers.

Drake nods from the command chair. "Onscreen, please, Mister Warren."

"Aye, Captain," the gold-shirted man replies. The viewscreen springs to life, drawing Ferrero’s attention.

Captain Drake exhales before speaking.

"Admiral Harding. What can we do for you?" the Captain speaks evenly as he rises to his feet.

Is that dislike I hear in the good Captain’s voice? Ander ponders, his fingers dancing across the console to pull up ship logs—those of public record such as the recordings from the Observation Lounge. What brings a smile to your face, Captain? He muses and enters the search function to focus on the Captain’s visits.

The Admiral keeps a neutral, business-like tone, her expression pinched. "Commander Drake. Reports indicate that navigation beacon Gamma Four Seven Alpha has malfunctioned. That beacon lies just inside of the Calican system, which is rather near your location. Your orders are to proceed to the Calican system and repair this beacon if at all possible."

Pausing in his visual search, Lt. Ferrero lifts his eyes to the circular patterned architecture of the ceiling. Do we have the right materials onboard? Engineering has a large pattern replicator… there are plenty of raw materials… The bees are in working order… yup. Should be good to go. With this mental checklist complete, Ander returns to scanning video footage, watching Drake’s order preferences with particular interest, and mentally noting any time the Captain registers a smile.

Drake nods, "Aye, Admiral. That should be a simple enough task."

Harding frowns slightly. "I expect that you are correct concerning the repair itself. Do be advised, Commander, that the Calican system is home to a pre-warp humanoid civilization. They have developed rudimentary spaceflight within the past two decades, have begun placing satellites around their homeworld, have recently made a successful flight to and from their moon. Your orders are to complete these repairs, but to do so with the utmost of discretion—the Prime Directive is, of course, in full force here; the Calican sentients are to be left entirely alone. In no case are you to have any sort of contact with this society, do you understand?"

Silas responds calmly, "Certainly, Admiral. I am fully aware of the scope of the Prime Directive."

Harding nods. "Very good, Commander Drake. Harding out." With that, the feed cut, and the viewscreen returned to normal.

Drake sighs as he retakes his seat. "You heard the Admiral, Tochi. Lay in a course for the Calican system, engage warp factor six."

“Already done, sir,” the Trill replied, “Punching it at warp six.” His fingers danced over the console, bringing the Peregrine around to the proper heading and then engaging the warp engines.

“It looks like we have something to do, at least,” Silas mused as the starfield on the viewscreen morphed into streaks of light.

“Yes, sir,” Tochi said, “and likely more than we’re aware of, I would guess.”

Ander closes out his research into the Captain’s drink preferences, a plan developing in his devious mind. Turning his attention back to the work that PO Warren is doing, Ander double-checks the man’s efforts with satisfaction. With this crew being as capable as they are, I’ll have plenty of time to do my thing, he allows himself a slight smile at this determination. This’ll be fun.

Once the ship is on the move, warp factor six, Ander excuses himself from the Bridge to take care of some additional department business, entrusting Warren to his job.

Well, let's see. Dragon-Soul, we can absolutely do that interaction between Blossom and Guardian. I prefer to use Google Docs for such a thing. Are you familiar?

Guardian has 32.00 Night City Dollars on his character sheet. So... he's broke, my friend. As he wasn't a part of the last gig he really needs a way to bank some eddies soon. However, as the team medic, perhaps they will all chip in. This is what he can get and how it would help the team. Also, the drug you're thinking of is called Trauma 1. See below...

Drugs:

Boost
Cost per Dose: 50eb (Costly)

Primary Effect

  • Lasts 24 Hours.

  • For the duration of the Primary Effect, the user's INT increases by 2 points. This can raise your INT above 8.

Secondary Effect (DV17)

  • If the user wasn't already addicted to Boost, they are now. While addicted, their INT is lowered by 2 points.

Beauties
Cost per Does: 40eb

Primary Effect

  • Lasts 8 Hours.

  • Beauties are butaqulide HC1. Beauties are a potent sleeping drug that acts as both soporific and a euphoriant to help you sleep. Your pain reception is greatly reduced when on this drug. Beauties reduce the pain level by -3 Wound States (e.g., A Mortal Wound is treated like a Light wound for pain considerations). Anyone administered Beauties must make a BODY 25 save or be rendered unconscious for 8 hours but may attempt to wake up by making a BODY 18 save every -15 minutes for each rank in Endurance (e.g., Endurance Rank 5 = -1 hour and 15 minutes, so the user would wake up at 6 hours and 45 minutes if they make their BODY save but leaving the drug active in their system for the duration experiencing the Secondary Effect).

Secondary Effect (DV17)

  • Beauties also scramble the user’s coordination and are addicting. While the secondary effect is active, the user's REF is reduced by 4 to a minimum of 1 and their INT is reduced by 2.

  • If the secondary effect is active 3 times for a user, that user is addicted. While addicted, their INT is lowered by 2 points.

CPS-23 (“Asimov’s Magic Candy&rdquo
Cost per Dose: 15eb

Primary Effect

  • Lasts 1d10 hours.

  • CPS-23 (CyberPsychotic Suppressant 23), known on the street as “Asimov’s Magic Candy,” is a drug used in the clinical treatment of cyberpsychosis. It raises the user’s emotional perception and empathy, keeping him from slipping into psychotic episodes while making him susceptible to psychiatric treatment. CPS-23 comes in a blue and red gel cap. Benefits: EMP+3.

Secondary Effect (DV1

  • CPS-23 can cause severe nausea and vomiting. While suffering from the secondary effect the user suffers a COOL-3 and a REF-2 penalty.

Diamond Four
Cost per Dose: 675eb

Primary Effect

  • Lasts 24 hours (may only be taken once every 24 hours)

  • This military drug is used on downed subjects on their way to military hospitals. It's an exceptional healing drug with relatively few side effects. Healing+1 Point/Day; Antidote BODY +5 save; Antibiotic.

Secondary Effect (DV16)

  • The user develops irrational fears during treatment and needing to be placed in seclusion during their recovery. COOL-5, INT-4, BODY+2.

Hypercoagulin
Cost per Dose: 97eb

Primary Effect

  • When injected into a patient with a bleeding wound, this causes instant coagulation and cessation of bleeding within 1D4+1 seconds. The drug should be injected as close to the wound as possible. An injection prior to sustaining a wound will have no effect. Stops bleeding, First Aid+2.

Secondary Effect (DV1

  • Very small overdoses of this drug will kill. For this reason, hypercoagulin can be a useful assassination tool. Requires immediate DEATH save.

Jetwash
Cost per Dose: 81eb

Primary Effect

  • Lasts 1d10 Hours.

  • A depressant used in the German military for treating serious field injuries where the patient will most likely go into shock. It creates a feeling of a warm “washing-over” of the senses. The Germans have lent their skill at quality engineering to this drug and it thus has no permanent ill side-effects. REF -3; First Aid checks on the user are +3.

Secondary Effect (DV16)

  • The warm “washing-over” of the senses is amplified and the user feels as though their skin is crawling. COOL-4, INT-2, unable to hold still.

Medical Stabilization Agent (MeStAg), “Meestag”
Cost per Dose: 380eb

Primary Effect

  • Lasts 2d6x10 Minutes.

  • The Medical Stabilization Agent, or “Meestag” (as it’s known in militarese) is a military drug used to treat victims of heavy trauma. While the cost is prohibitive for people on the street, it is one of the best drugs to use in the treatment and first aid of large wounds involving massive tissue and blood loss.

  • Meestag stops blood loss, protects against infection, and stops all pain, which the user perceives as an irritating itching near the areas of his wounds. Meestag comes in a bright green derm the size of a credit card.

  • Wound Level -4, Antibiotic, First Aid +4.

Secondary Effect (DV14)

  • The subject will be unable to sleep, and the eyes tend to become sensitive to bright lights. Subjects become delusional, imagining large insects and maggots wriggling through their wounds, causing the itchy sensation.

Neurovine
Cost per Dose: 1000eb

Primary Effect

  • This is an antidote for nerve poison. If taken within 15 seconds of poisoning (assuming you’re not dead), a Neurovine injection helps stabilize the poison until further treatment can be sought.

  • This gives you a chance to survive BioToxins BODY+4.

Secondary Effect (DV1

  • Neurovine is in itself frequently deadly. DEATH save required.

Revive
Cost per Dose: 7eb

Primary Effect

  • These are small breakable capsules that have an effect similar to smelling salts; if snapped open under the nose of a stunned or unconscious person, they will cause the person to wake up. Revive is an over the counter legal drug.

Stat Boosters
Cost per Dose: 575eb

Primary Effect

  • Lasts for 1d10X2 hours.

  • YOU CAN REWIRE YOUR BODY! You can jack up any of your stats except COOL, TECH, ATTR, WILL, and EMP by up to +3, although it isn’t cheap.

  • Hormones exist for almost any purpose: boosting muscle strength, improving neural connections, increasing glial cells in the brain, raising silent genes to rewire brain connections.

  • It takes 30 day’s constant treatment to increase a Stat by +1 with a dose each day, uninterrupted.

Secondary Effect (DV1

Tann, the custom grips and laser sights still have 4 more days before he can pick them up but I did update Casino's sheet. Casino received a total of 4,000 eddies from that gig which equates to 2,000 for him and 2,000 intended for Vegas. Casino spent 994 eddies and 45 Giri on his latest purchases leaving a remainder of 2,967 eddies out of that 4,000.

Okay, so with the release of Cyberpunk Red, we're back to cyberware taking up humanity points as it's grafted into the body. But what does this do to the current characters and the technology timeline? I'm homebrewing some rules for this so here they are:

  1. OldCybe: Older more clunky and less sleek-looking cyberware that is grafted into the body or replaces body parts altogether. These are less expensive but take more Humanity points. That's the tradeoff. Plus... they're old and out of style. Cheaper than RedCybe but costs more Humanity.

  2. NuCybe: This tech is only offered through the various alt-cults and is jealously protected and guarded. You must use Giri to pay for it and each alt-cult has its own exchange rate. This kind of cyberware doesn't impact your humanity at all as it exists on a nano-level and resides within bracers, splices, and amps. The only real impact on your humanity is the Neuralprocessor that is required to operate these. Exclusive to alt-cults and only obtained through Giri but no Humanity costs at all except for the Neuralprocessor which you all already have (except maybe Echo).

  3. RedCybe: This tech is like OldCybe in that you can purchase it at the mall, in clinics, or get surgeries at hospitals to get them grafted into your body. They do impact your humanity but are sleeker, more streamlined, and very stylish. These are the kinds that are represented in the videogame Cyberpunk 2077. The latest tech, stylish, sleek, with a Humanity cost.

I know most of you are like, "What he sayin'?" but I thought I'd put it out there, just in case (and especially since now is the time y'all are upgrading and restocking).

Aight... I posted. Here are some things to clarify my post.

  1. I didn't take it too far into the future because people may want to purchase gear, ammunition, or cyberware and we need to resolve all of that before moving on.

    1. Yes, Tann, all of the gear that Casino wasn't able to pick up but paid for can now be picked up.

    2. Charlie needs to make Streetdeal checks on all of the newly requested gear.

    3. You all can see a pretty inclusive listing of available gear in the Reference Book with more details in the Chrome Books (the Reference Book cites the Chrome Books as well as others), and I just added the new Cyberpunk Red books.

  2. Casino is about five days away from being fully healed. Two days (counting the Tuesday you're all on) from being in a light wound state.

  3. Vegas is about three to four more days away from being fully healed. His wounds are all considered light but he was so badly beat that it's still painful for a number of days after.

  4. No... you all didn't have apartments before the contract to retrieve the kid. You were living out of coffin motels or wherever you could find shelter if you didn't have any credits (eddies). Charlie was the only one with an apartment from the get-go.

  5. Searching up what kind of reader the disk fits is going to be a very easy task (DC 12) for the netrunners and an easy (DC 14) Library Search check for the laymen.
