Topic: Destiny's Flight - A Serenity RPG Subject: All the ship
OOC: I am making a couple of assumptions. One is that Gravity would not be flipping a switch on or off, but gradually re-established. The second is you are not taking off your EVA Suits until the ship is at least mostly pressurized. I am also gonna assume you will keep going from room to room until you reach the bridge.
Demeter Day 3, 11:30 pm Ship Time (ST) – Time spent on Demeter: 4.0 hrs
Power began to return to the ship and the familiar hums of a ship once more filled this now floating coffin. The air would take a while to fill the ship and the heat to reach the bulkhead, but the familiar pull of gravity began to pull on the team in Demeter. The gravity did not come on strong, it started slowly as the gravity bubble grew and established itself around the boat. One tenth G at first and then slowly upwards. So that items and dead bodies would fall slowly and gradually. No one wanted to clean up a broken thawing body from the deck.
Deck to Deck Search
Notes from Previous Search: The Teddy Bear was in the Engineers (Holmwood) room. The Stakes, mallets and dreamdoze was in the captain’s quarters (Harker). The catbox was in the doctor’s (Seward) quarters.
Room Search from the Lift. (Please note that by the time you finish the search, gravity will be on full on the ship will be mostly pressurized.
Weapons Control Room
This room contains a monitoring station for the main cannon mounted in the forward fuselage.
Storage (the dented door)
Steel storage crates house small arms and other equipment including survival packs, environmental
suits, food stores and medical supplies. What is really really strange is that the object that dented the door is a coffin. A real hard wood coffin. The lid is closed but there is lots of that silver paint all through this room. There are a few pieces of metal on the ground as well that look like platinum ingots but they are not platinum but a grey metal with some of the silver paint still on it.
(I am going to assume you open the coffin) The coffin is filled with bars upon bars on the same grey metal with silver paint. The pieces beneath are fully painted silver and look like platinum ingots. The padding in the lid of the coffin has been torn, showing a mechanism that held something pressurized in it. An examination of the device shows it was designed to activate on a timer after the lid was open for the first time.
Hallway
Halfway down the corridor is a dead body. Uniform is marked with “Quincy Morris”. He has a vicious looking wound on his throat that looks like he was bitten by something.
Environmental Control
All air and water/waste recycling is processed through this room. Most maintenance of these units can be done via this area, but some repairs require access from the exterior of the ship. Another dead crewmember is here, a woman with the label “Mina Murray”. She also has a neck wound and several bite marks on her arm.
Ion Energy Cannon Generator
This room is where the Ion Cannon gathers its energy to be fired. It is humming loudly
Main Sensor Access
Access to Deck 3 is via a hatch in the floor of the room. Sensor power is regulated and routed through this room to the deck below. As this ship was originally a science exploration vessel, it has a powerful set of sensors.
(assuming you will go down the ladder to the 3 level)
DECK 3
Sensors/Communications
All accessible equipment for sensor and communication control is in this room. Modifications and reprogramming can only be done from this location as these functions are not able to be modified from the bridge.
Sensors/Communications
Monitoring stations for the main sensor array along with the four wave generators that are the heart of the ship’s massive sensor package is located here. A ladder leads upward to a hatch leading to room 2c on Deck 2. There are three dead alliance officers here (two men, on woman), tied up at the bottom of the ladder. Their uniforms are from the unification war. None of them have bite marks and their uniforms labels read, Stoker, Shelley and Stevenson.
Bridge
The bridge contains three massive view screens along the forward wall and two sides, three computerStations along the rear of the room, and a dropped station area for the four crew on duty at all times. A Captain’s chair sits on a pedestal in the center of the room.
In the captain’s chair is man’s body, strapped in with the full harness locked and with a thick blanket wrapped around him. In his right hand, trapped in a frozen grip, is an independence’s gun. On the side arm of the chair, is a note taped with duct tape, folded and labeled “To Lily”
On the floor of the bridge, about 6 feet away from the Captain is another dead crewmember. Her label says “Lucy Westena” and she was shot through the head, most likely before she was frozen. She does not have any bite marks that you can see.
Meanwhile in Engineering
Fenris watched the power flow, check the meters and worked the mechanical magic that he was good at to get the engines going and bring life back to the ship. The ship had plenty of fuel and he had no doubt that the engines had been shut off deliberately by the mechanic of Demeter. But why? If they wanted to scuttle the ship, all they had to do was overload the Ion cannon generator. Why die in the cold of space? And why not use the lifepods or EVA suits that they had?
Meanwhile in the Infirmary
Jonah and Alaxis worked on setting up the portable imaging machine. It was a high tech machine and the doctor could not but hope they would be able to liberate it for her use on Destiny. The battery was replaced and the machine hummed to life.
Alaxis quickly got an answer to what it was inside the case. It was a cat. A female cat, in a completely homemade stasis chamber inside the suitcase.
Alex was fiddling with the computers and the logs in the infirmary. As power was restored and life support was coming back on line, he was able to get the log application up. There was a brief surge and then a short, as power cables once frozen had too much energy go through them. Sparks fly and sputtered. Suddenly, the image of a man was on screen, an older man in a white lab coat. It is the Doctor from the ship. His eyes were a bit wild and he looked ragged and resigned. He is speaking by there is no audio. According to the menu, there are two files on the log that are not encrypted, marked as to be read.
A feminine voice intoned across the speakers: “Life support restored to breathable limits:” and then repeated the same in Cantonese.
