Topic: Continuing Where We Last Left Off
Subject: Falling rocks

Invisible attackers threatened the party, which was now down by two. Maximus and Dapple lie on the floor in desperate need of healing and Kilgim wasn’t wasting any time. The Dwarven cleric ignored the wounds, and the pain of moving as he had to move fast. It would be judgment call as to whom to save first but he knew Dapple was a scrapper who’d face death before and sneered in its face, not to mention that Kilgim survived the blast. The gladiator though was bleeding badly and the Dwarf decided to go for him but not spend the time on prayers but use a potion to revive.

Adrian drew his bastard sword but was left without an opponent to fight. His thoughts a whirl at seeing his old flame and benefactor here, and obviously under the control of those hated collars the imperial command use. She was wasting away by using her powers pass the point of no return. Wizard’s Twilight it was called; the body was left functioning but the life energy spent.

Jal was caught off guard. He whirled around looking form his injured party members to the doorway – expecting to be attacked at any point. His mind shuffled through the spells he knew looking for a way to expose the threat.

Char was on the defensive near Dapple, also at a loss of what to do. He was trained in fighting blind and tried to use his other senses to guide him, but they were stealth and there was much ambient noise.

Arien began to move but found that he couldn’t. It was like a barrier was before him that shaped around his body like a hand grasping a child’s toy. He tried to strike at it or move around it but to no effect. Then, suddenly the Knight was pulled off his feet and through the air. He flew backwards towards the north wall, and didn’t stop. Arien crashed though the wall, smashing through stone and mortar with a tremendous force. The old wall stood for a moment only with a large hole in it, and those looking could see the knight come crashing to the ground outside, rolling and then amazingly coming to his feet.

Then the north wall collapsed, and the view was blocked by rubble and dust. The tower above you and the remaining walls make a groaning noise and the sound of beams snapping can be heard above.

“That’s not good!” Kilgim called out, “She’s gonna come down!”

Outside
Arien rolls across the ground and then brings himself to a stop and stands up. He should be dead, he knows that, but something protected him from the force that pulled him and the wall. An energy field, green in colour had surrounded him, keeping the crushing force at bay.

A man awaits the knight outside, gesturing at Arien with a green-scaled hand with six fingers. He wears a green Imperial uniform with Colonel markings. His brown hair is impeccably groomed and he looks at the man he brought before him with a look of hatred. “I always say, you want something done right! Kill them yourselves! No longer will you haunt my dreams vile creature!” and with that he draws his sword and charges. As he does, Arien is aware of the sounds of stones and rocks falling behind him, but has other issues to deal with at the moment.

OOC: the Reds did not attack this round, at least not that you could see or hear.
Wounded
Arien: Light Wounds and mystified
Char: Light Wounds
Maximus: Light wounds and revived
Jal: huh?
Valentine: Arm good now
Kilgim: Serious Wounds
Dapple: Critical Wounds but up again.

Subject: The GM returns and brings temptation.

As Willow approaches the blind man, the men around him watch her closely but also bob their heads in respect to the honour just bestowed upon these .

Willow bows low, and the granddaughter Dao whispers in his ear a narrative of what is happening. “Revered grandfather, this one is Willow Takahara. Your wisdom and generosity of spirit towards those who would harm you is a lesson to us all. May this one call upon you later to hear more of your lessons?”

The Shepherd moves towards Willow and motions for her to stand. He moves his hands towards her face, slowly, as not to startle her and asks, “May I?“

(assuming Willow lets the old man touch her)

The shepherd’s hand move gently over Willows face, the fleeting of touches but enough for the man to know the face to whom he speaks. He then grasps Willow’s hand firmly, but in fatherly type of grip.

“Anyone who seeks to learn may call upon me, my child. You are a healer; both of body and soul are you not? We perhaps can learn much from each other, for there is much to be healed here, and not enough wisdom to go around.”

With that the old man releases Willow’s hand and turns to his former tormentors with the word of the lord.

With Wolf now walking along with you, the group continues on their way. You pass another set of stables on the left, much nicer with a larger corral than the one where you had your altercation. Horses are wonderful for transportation, but not much to look at so you continue along the pathway.

The neighbourhood takes a turn to the fancy ahead. A set of small, but well cared for homes line the curve east of town. Each home has a porch with a rocker or two that rock themselves in the desert wind. No doubt the upper class kind live in this section of town, well away from the doings of the regular towns folk.

On the crest of a small hill before you stands a brand new, freshly painted, slat board school house, adorned with a steeple. A small, neat cottage stands a few yards away. As you approach, you can hear voices inside and the sound of chairs and desks creaking as used.

(Assuming someone looks through the window, and not charges in with guns drawn)

The row of desks faces the front row of the single large room. A woman stands with her back to the class and the window, working at an old-fashion chalkboard hung on the wall. Her hands hold chalk and eraser as she writes out the multiplication table while erasing the previous lesson at the same time. She then turns to face the class and you look into the face of a woman who could charm the stars out of the Black. She has large sea-green eyes with long auburn hair. Her simple prairie dress is cut to emphasize her voluptuous body. If she had been your teacher, your lessons might have suffered but you’d have never cut class.

OOC: Enter? Draw guns and enter? Run away?

Skari - You are right but not for the reason you suggested. Actualy Cathy and I disliked each other when we first met. She was dating my best friend and I was deep in a dark "women are evil" depressed stage of my life. I was truly dismissive of her, said a few nasty things within the first hour or so of our introduction.

Funny how things work out....

Okay

Skari - I pick #1, I think you've been to Turkey. You seem well travelled.

AA - I pick #3 as that sounds like too much fore-thought for a teenager.

More from me -

1 - I fell in love with Cathy (Vanadia) from the moment I saw her.

2 - Even though I am Canadian, I can not skate.

3 - I didn't get my driver's licence until I was 23 years old.

You are correct Robert. I recent found myself watching some channel that shows old programs and watched a ^ Million Dollar man episode and a Knightrider. It was painful to watch. I used to love these shows when i was young but the acting is so bad, the effects are cheesy and the plots transparent. I was embarassed to admit I loved them as a kid.

Got to give someone else a chance here.

I have no arrest warrants to my name. My hacking days were during the early days of the internet when security software had holes in them so large you could back a truck through them. I can't do any of that stuff nowadays.

I did haul a teenager up by the throat one day after I had politely pointed out to him the elderly lady was coming and he rolled his eyes at me and waved dismissedly towards me. Wrong move.

TV Time

1 - I have never seen an episode of Seinfeld
2 - I secretly enjoy old episodes of Six Million Dollar Man and Knightrider
3 - I have not seen past half way through the second season of New Battlestar Galactica series

Lyskhala - I am completely guessing on #2 as the lie. Mostly cause I never heard of Blackfoot.

My lie was #2 - Tall skinny women. I do not like skinny, I feel that real women have curves. Not sure what conversation Tann is referring to but I am extremely quiet (ask Olan) and a softie at heart.

New list. This one I call Dark Al.

1 - I once grabbed a teenager by the collar and hauled him out of the seat on a bus because he wouldn't give it up for an elderly lady.

2 - I once hacked into the Playboy Inc mainframe and grabbed a bunch of photos that had not been published yet, then released them to the usenets.

3 - There are places in Canada I can not go because there are warrants out for my arrest.

Well since everyone who is on the Inn is getting pregnant lately, I will say it is probably #1 that is the lie.

For those who know me and those who do not.

1) In real life, I am extremely quiet.
2) I have a thing for tall skinny women.
3) I like to portray myself as a tough guy, but really I'm just a soft teddy bear of a guy.

Anyway, hope to update all my games by the end of the week. Would like to ss a post from the few that are behind but I will move the battle forward anyway as you are close to the end.

I am hoping to get back into the game soon. I would have had time this weekend but the weather dumped close to 30 cm of snow on us and I was shoveling for a good portion of the weekend.

If work slows down at all, I should be able to update all my games by the end of the week.

“So glad you could join us so quickly, gentlemen,” Willow declared smoothly, her arms still out to shield the girl behind her, “is it with us or these hooligans that you have business?”

Uh, Cap,” Sam drawled through clenched teeth, his weapon now skipping between more targets than he cared to count, “I dunno what kind o’ luck this’n falls under but, if I recollect, clear, we’s done past our three…”

"We got the chance for one solid to bring us full circle and start the cycle over, Sam." Wyatt answered, waiting for someone to make a move.

It is a very tense moment, that Willow receives no answer and the Tong do not look like they wish to talk. Guns are being pointed, shells pumped, triggers cocked and the look of the Tong Guards’ faces reveals nothing of what they are thinking. One of them, the leader you would assume by his demeanor and red sash, commands the others in Chinese so fast you can’t catch all of it. Something about “protect”, “Grandfather” and “kill them all” you caught but the rest you are unsure.

The old Sheppard rights himself upwards and calls out in a commanding voice, “No! No Violence! No killing! Any man who harms another here will no longer be welcome in my house!”

The words have a profound effect as guns are immediately lowered and many of the men bow deeply in respect despite the fact that the priest can not see them.

“Dao!” The old man cries out

“ //I am here Grandfather//” the young lady behind Willow calls out in Chinese.

“Are you hurt?”

“//No Grandfather. But I kicked one of them. I am so sorry grandfather. I was scared and he ..//”

“Don’t worry about it child. They brought it unto themselves as violence only begets violence.”

The old man approaches you and the young lady detaches herself from Willows arm and runs to her grandfather. She swiftly details to the Sheppard the details of you (three men, a woman, they came to our aid etc etc). He listens patiently and then comes forward to stand before you. “Thank you. Many a man or woman are there who would have walked pass and pretended to not notice. Others would resort to guns and killing immediately to make their point. I thank you for your aid and am honoured by your restraint.” He says and bows to you formally as does his granddaughter.

(Assume some conversation here)

Red Sash comes forward. He sees the old man bowing to you and immediately bows to you as well. Then he says, “Honoured Grandfather. What shall we do with these men that bothered you?”

“Hold them but do not hurt them. I wish to speak to them for awhile about the errors of their ways. Only through forgiveness and wisdom will they see a better path to walk.”

The Sheppard and the young lady leave you, heading towards the ruffians who now sit with their backs to the stables, disarmed. The bleeding nose of the one seems to have stopped, but they are kept there as the priest starts into a sermon to his captive audience about the word of the lord and loving thy neighbour.

“Do you gentlemen know the story of the Good Samaritan? It is an important story that all should know and think long and hard upon ….”

OOC: I have left this open for more interaction if you want. Otherwise you are free to continue to the schoolhouse.

SAUP is a game state where you are not unconscious but are literally reeling from the attack. You can not fight, you can not parry - you are essentially defenseless but you can post thoughts, fears, doubts or whatever might be going through Max's mind right now.

Max can get up and move around - you can even try to do a potion if you'd like, but you can not fight at all until you get yourself righted.

Whoa - Only one post this week. Everyone busy or was I too vague?
