I am told that Giddy is out so I will just NPC john from here on in. Good news is that Archangel has already submitted a pilot character for Roc so we have someone to take over for Tess as she leaves after the battle.
I posted what John had to add to the game. Bromern, there are a lot of questions that people are looking for answers from their Captain.

That’d leave me, Asher, Wolf, John, an’ Ma t’ take care of whatever firefight erupts here when the mercs show. So, if’n anyone has any better ideas, now’s the time t’ speak up, because Time...well, she ain’t on our side.” Wyatt said plainly to everyone gathered.
John steps forward and places a device he has been carrying under his arm on the table for all to see. It is a radio, stripped down but a radio none the less. John cleared his throat, "Well, at least I can be the bearer of some good news. I found this radio as you were have your altercation with the fake federal marshalls. Turns out, I could hear the exchange between them and the whatever base they are using. " John looks around as if expecting everyone to be astonished by this news.

"That means people, we can hear the mercenaries as they are coming. I can also tell you that whomever is in charge of these soldiers ordered the pilot to send a signal that would cause those internal devices in their heads to explode. Probably an algorithm, no doubt complicated but since we are dealing with cut-throats that kill their own, it can't be too hard. As you are no doubt eager to exchange gunfire with these men, if you can get me a head of one of them so I can find the explosive - I might be able to crack the code and solve all our problems. that is assuming that you are not planning on handing me more guns and expecting me to exchange fire with professional killers, which in my opinion is redundant."

"I am not a master of tactic and strategy, nor have I served in a command position in a war. That being said, if I was these mercs, I would try to take as many hostages as I could as quickly as I could and force us to give up the violin. They can't come in guns blazing out of fear that the violin being damaged. They can't use gas or toxins as we are out on the open. I would target something that is very important to you and use it against you. Either the passengers or ... the ship. If they focused on taking the ship and used it as a bargaining chip - what would you do? What could you do?"

" He asks as his makeshift joint lights itself and he takes a deep drag of the smoke before offering it to the party, "Nip?"

Dudley removes the lid to the cask as Alôndas looked it over the top. Inside, the cask was empty except for a large orange cat curled up at the bottom, snoring away. Except this cat was very large, and had a red shirt, brown vest and was wearing trousers with boots. It had no weapons on it that you could see but it was the oddest cat you had ever seen.
As you look down, it rolls over in its sleep and then opens its eyes.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! By the gods you be ugly creatures!” the cat shrieks and jumps straight out of the cask to land on top the cask beside this one. Suddenly it becomes aware that everyone is staring at it as it standing on the cask at 2 feet tall on its hind legs.
Quickly the cat drops to all four and says, “Umm. Meow. Meow. Meow.”

Subject: supplies, port fees and the like
You do not have to play out buying supplies and paying the port fees. Actually the port fees have to be paid upfront anyway.
Filing passenger manifests and destinations is required but the reason so much criminal activity happens in Eavesdown is that the port doesn't pay close attention to the rules and all the bosses pay the workers well to keep it that way. As Badger would say - free enterprise is never free.
I love the interaction that is happening so far. Please keep it going over the holidays.

Ta Ma Duh, ....Steph, what is going on here. You need to talk things over us before you a stranger into the crew?" Jon threw his hands up in disgust.
"Tess and Grace own most of this boat with me. This effects more than just the sickbay," he began pacing back and forth, "And why do you think you need to threaten to leave to get this girl on board? You’ve never been held here..your word is respected…and chances are we would have agreed.”
He stopped, and stared sadly into Stephanie's eyes, "but if you really feel you need to leave, well I’d never stand in your way….of course that would leave us needing a nurse…maybe one with a little tech support and cooking."
“A nurse! That is all it would take to replace me Jon! Yes i am sure you could find a younger nurse who could serve you in a way that would better suit your needs.”
It had been that kind of day, every time he opened his mouth it was like setting a match to gasoline. “I guess that was a cheap shot……. today hasn’t been my most tactful with words”.
Stephanie took a deep breath and regained some composure. “I am sorry Jon. I have been holding back things so long that I am exploding with them now and that is not fair. You are right that Tess, Grace and You own this ship but I had hoped that somewhere along the way I was going to become more important to you than this ship, but I see now I will always play the other woman. Foolish notion anyway. I am twice your age Jon. How long before I lose you to some young girl who can exchange war stories with you like Tess and Grace?
The reality of what this conversation really was about nearly staggered Jon. His relationship with Stephanie had been so natural it felt like they were of one mind. Stephanie had had her career. That had driven her to do more and more, she was a professional and understood that job and life were a dizzying combination. That life had given her the skill that saved his life. But it wasn’t that she was the doctor that saved his that made him fall in love with her, it was just her. The difference in their ages didn’t matter to his heart, he knew what he felt and no one else could fill that space, but how had he missed letting her know?
But when he opened his mouth,” But….age never…….you..” He just tailed off in his frustration.
Do you remember why I came abroad with you – besides how much you made my heart flutter? I wanted to see the verse and the people in it. I have seen people and I have seen a lot of violence with them as well. Violence that took Ken and Jason away from us. Violence that scarred a man like JC and created Angela without thought of the ethics and ramifications. Angela killed six people not long ago and no one seemed phased by that. You just accepted a job from a Crime Lord in order to get in his good books – am I right? I look at that and the life we had before you discovered Destiny was intact and I wonder why you choose this life?
”Steph, you know better than that…running a ship is what I do.. it’s all I know how to do…….We can still make a difference in good people’s lives….but we have to keep going…it ain’t never been easy for me, but I know we have to keep trying…..You came back into my life and filled an empty space I hadn’t realize existed. ”
“I ... I need some time to myself Jon. Just make my excuses to the crew and the passengers but I just want to spent some time alone with my thoughts before we can talk about this more.”

The party elects to move up the stairs, leaving the seemingly dead ninja behind. Mal and Alôndas examine the body to determined it was indeed not a living being but made of flesh like substance that was not the right colour of textile nature of flesh.
Moving upwards you move into another 30x30 room with a stairs going down (you just came up) and another going up. There is also another black portal in this room. This wine cellar is setup much like the other except that this room is dedicated to wine. Reds on one wall, white on another, roses on the third and a multitude of colours on the last. You examine this room but find nothing unusual and no ninja comes running when you move or remove bottles.
No secret doors found or clues to what your situation is, you move up to the next area. Again, 30x30 with and up and down stairs and a portal.
This room is dedicated to casks and kegs that are stacked on the shelves and in the centre of the room there are two large casks (3’Wx4’Lx2’H) side by side. These are all brandies and cognac. As you move into the room, you all hear a sound. It is loud, and distinctly snoring like. After a few moments of looking around, you realize that the snoring is coming from within one of the large casks in the centre of the room. You don’t need a rogue to detect the cask in question has a removable side lid.

Subject: The caves
1. Main Airlock (2`steel doors)
2. Entrance Area - Main controls to all electronic systems
3. Storage Area - Main hooks and racks, nothing left behind
4. Central Meeting Hall - Where the TF would meet, places to stand higher than crowd.
6-11 Sleeping quarter. Bunks build into stone and then a sprayed on foam as a mattress. Not the Hilton but at least usable.
12. Recreation Area. Cortex feed setup but no access boxes left behind
13-16 Main Storage - This is where the stored the terraforming equipment and gear. Empty now except a one-man earth mover that has the engine cover still lifted up.
17. Hall of Remembrance - Pictures and memorials of the men and women who died while terraforming
18. Dining Hall and kitchens. Power still works on oven and stoves
19. Conjugal Room - Private areas with screens in case someone needed time with someone else. Foam/rock beds are large in the rooms.

I have updated the game to get everyone in the same room. This is your chance to tell everyone what news you have and give your input on the plan.
My plan is to have everyone post their thoughts by the end of next weekend so I can do a post bringing things together for getting the plan ready and we can pause for the Christmas holidays.

Willow made her way to the cargo bay, intending to use the ramp down to the planet's surface. She was pleasantly surprised to find Matheson was still there, fiddling with knobs on a black box in his hands.
"Mr. Matheson-san," Willow greeted him warmly, "thank you again for the loan of your men - they were most helpful in the medical bay. They told me that you know Miss Amber-sama, "she said neutrally while watching him closely," You will be glad to know that she is fine...just exhausted."
Matherson’s expression wavered slightly from a mask of pleasantry to a deep concern and back again. Willow would have missed it had she not been trained at reading people so well. “Exhausted? I’m sorry I have been so engrossed in my own affairs that I did not know she was taken ill. My men seem to enjoy being helpful so I have lost them again. I should check references better.” He sighs and puts the device he was working on down to face Willow fully. “May I ask what happened to Amber? I am not a layman with medical terms doctor so please be frank.”
(assuming some guarded explanation)
“I see.” Matherson nods but his concern cannot be masked now. Something is deeply botering him and it is causing an internal struggle in him.
(Leave for more for Willow)
"Captain Sung asked me to have a word with you," she continued. “I understand you are helping to determine who has been trying to transmit off planet. I guess that's what that item (she waved at the device in his hands) is for, but please, be careful. We have reason to believe that whoever it is has some pretty powerful technology at their disposal. Turned a substantial piece of engine into a pile of dust."
“Say what?” Matherson says so startled that his usual practiced manners fail him.
(assuming Willow repeats)
“Really. That is ... impossible but if you say it is so then ... “ He pulls himself upright and clears his throat in order to get his composure back. “I should really find my men and get to the caves quickly. I have no desire to put myself in harm’s way anymore today.”
He gives a polite goodbye and hurries on his way, calling out for Hack and Slash. As he leaves, Willow is left with the definite feeling that Matherson knew nothing about the engine part but the news has scared him.
LV-426, Rocinante, Kitchen 10:00 am PT
Tess returns with John from the Atmo processors. John has a radio receiver with him under his arm and a look of needing to tell the Captain something urgent. The crew is gathered together in the kitchen for the first time since this crazy rescure started.
How long have you been at it? Some of you wonder. It has been over 9 hours since you first got the call from the cruise liner. Some of you had been heading to bed at that point to so it has been a very long day and it was far from over.
Wyatt looked at his crew. No one was gonna to quit on him. No one was looking for him to offer an easy way out. He knew that. Every set of eyes that lloked back at him would willing die for him if the need was there. Wyatt could only hope that there was no need but things were about to get dire soon.
Time to talk about the plan. Time to get people ready.
“First, let me just say that I’m sorry I didn’ do this sooner. Now onto the grit.
“My plan is t’ split the merc forces amongst multiple possible locations where the case could be buried. We’ve got them overly-bright boys buildin’ us some makeshift bombs t’ use at the sites. I want Asher and that grifter that was carryin’ one o’ them to scout out some good locations and set it up t’ look like we buried the case there. We’ll rig some o’ the explosives t’ blow into the faces o’ the mercs using tripwires.
“I’m scrappin’ the repairs on Roc jus’ now. WIthout that coil we can’t do nothin’. So we need t’ find a way t’ get off-planet an’ take the merc’s command ship. That has t’ be a long-range spacecraft, and once we do that we can pick up the parts we need fer Roc an’ come back for her. As I see it, this plan still has some loose ends. For one, someone is performin’ the espionage on Roc that’s put us dry an’ high. That person, or a team of people, is likely also tied int’ the mercs. Now, I’ve enlisted Matherson an’ his men t’ search these rats out--I know, I know,” Wyatt held up his hands to forestall any comments. “It’s as likely as not that Matherson is behind all this as well, but by placin’ him in charge o’ something we can hopefully figure out whether ‘r not this is the case. All the same, we got t’ be aware o’ this particular challenge.
“Second, we got t’ give the mercs reason to check all the sites at once so that they actually do split up. An’ third, we gotta figure out where to put the case. Finally, we gotta figure out how t’ hijack tha’ ASREV, make it back to the base ship, an’ take that from highly-trained, blood-thirsty mercenaries.
“Aside from those minor points,” Wyatt scanned the faces before him. “I was figurin’ on Ma an’ Willow stayin’ with the patients in the medbay. OOC: At this point Jessie is not in kitchen but in the cargo bay. Asher, Wolf, Willow, Ma, John and Tess are all in the kitchen. Matherson has left with Hack and Slash. Sifu would be radioing now if he wants to inform Captain of the power in the cave. I will post the exploration of the caves later as I have run out of lunch time.)
