Marie Tanner watched as Vilyamar’s back disappeared down the tunnel. She sighed slightly and looked around, not liking having to wait while someone else did all the exploring. “Well, I guess now all we can do is wait.” With that she began idly strolling around the immediate area, taking in any sites and sounds there may be.

As she looked around she saw Teros, and smiled. She walked over to him and said quietly, “So, Mya,” said carefully, making sure she said it correctly, a smile slowly spreading across her lips, “said yes, did she? How did that come about, if I may be so bold as to ask?”

Marie was talking with Teros about his love and what had transpired the two days he had been away from the group, when she saw Vilyamar emerge. She held her tongue, and kept from asking any questions before allowing him to say his peace.

~*~*~*~

Marie was the first to follow Vilyamar into the tunnel. As he lead them to where Elander waited, she looked around trying to see as much as she could with the light provided. Once at the door, she smiled a cautious greeting to the kender. She scanned the room carefully, a delicate brow arching slightly as she took notice of the hole in the wall. She made a mental note to check it out if they got out of this next room alive, as she didn’t know what lay just beyond the door. The hole temporarily forgotten, she moved to the door, and made an attempt to push it open, with the aid of her team-mates.

~*~*~*~

Once inside the room, Marie marveled at the site of all the oh-so-perfect mirrors covering every inch of the walls around them. To her imperfect eye, the room seemed almost perfect in it’s dimensions, save for the “cubby” in one of the walls. She found said cubby strange, “But then, what about the room isn’t strange?”, she asked herself. She looked up at the source from which the ray of light streamed into the room, touching down to the floor, almost gracefully. She always paused in awe at the site of light streaming through the clouds, or any form of darkness. No matter what stood in it’s way, somehow the light always seemed to manage to break through it’s barriers and bring light to this world. Marie smiled slightly to herself at this thought. The smile did not last long, however, when her eyes fell on the non-existent face of the otherwise elegantly perfect statue. She turned to Teros and looked at him questioningly. As she had never seen a statue of this goddess before, she asked, her voice almost a whisper, mixed with awe and concern, “Why does your goddess not have a face?” The question was one of ignorance, as she knew nothing of this goddess and her traditions and ways.

Marie smiled and blushed slightly, “Mya.” She repeated in a belated attempt to correct her mistake. She listened as Teros explained that Mya had agreed to marry him. Marie happily congratulated Teros on his engagement.

“Well, I’m glad you have returned to the group, Teros. And though I’m relatively sure we would have somehow found a way through that disaster…” said with no conviction whatsoever, and quite a lot of playful sarcasm, “…future situations such as that one, just might prove a little easier with the 'tid-bit' of extra fighting skill around.” Marie grinned and glanced sideways at Teros to see any reaction he may have to her teasing jab.

Marie merely smiled her big smile when Teros said she had too many questions. She turned her head to look at him as they walked along, laughter in her eyes, “Yes, well, what can I say? I’m the inquisitive sort. And I’m very thankful to your Goddess Lavuria for her timely aid.” Her face grew a bit more serious as she said, “Please thank her for me.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Marie had been very excited about the possible solution to the riddle. However, when she heard Vilyamar’s words her smile faded away and she thought about what he had to say on the matter. She nodded thoughtfully, and concluded that he was right. She could have kicked herself for being over-enthusiastic about the whole situation. She reminded herself of what had nearly happened to the group, and mentally scolded herself for having reacted so carelessly. She resolved that, though the thought of the mystery of the riddle being solved was rather exciting to her, it was still a very dangerous mission and must be taken with the utmost care and caution.

With Vilyamar standing near her now, she heard his whispered words,

“ The burden would be too great to bear...”

She momentarily wondered at this before she said in somewhat of a repentant tone, “Please forgive my outburst of excitement. I meant no disrespect. Nor did I intend to imply the decisions, and paths we take are all on your shoulders. I got overly excited at the possibility of the riddle being solved, and for a few moments that over shadowed everything else. I do apologize, and will remember your words in the future.”

Somewhat embarrassed by her little outburst her cheeks reddened a shade or two as she peered into the tunnel once more. As she did this, the words uttered by Elandor sank in. She looked back at him in slight alarm, “Do you truly think it is possible that band of miscreants are here already? How could they have gotten in? We had to pass by the Sphinx and the only reason we did that is, because .. well, we are the chosen group and had the right information and that dagger. What could they possibly have? Surely they would not have been able to enter as well?” Marie said with conviction…then after a moment, with slightly less confidence in her voice, “Right?”

She smiled and chuckled slightly at the light jest regarding Elendor tripping the trap without everyone else present, then laughed lightly at the kender’s antics.

Marie’s eyes darted from Elandor to Vilyamar as he spoke once more. She agreed sticking together was a good idea, and seeing that Elandor already had a companion for the task of scouting the tunnel's safety, she remained next to Scorge, and waited for the signal that all was well.

Subject: A NEW One! hehe

Now, just a forwarning, this one is entirely different than anything I have ever written before. I thought it was pretty cool, however, so I figured I'd stick it in here with my poetry. I wrote it for a post in CyrDraconis' game, "To the Faire, Redux!"

"Pirate's Gold"
Saturday, September 16, 2006

"Come and listen to the tale of old
Of pirates and ships laden with gold
'Tis a tale my mother sang to me,
But mistake it not for a tale of glee

For 'twas a night when the storms did rage
The swells so great, this ship was caged
Within the walls of sea and mist
These pirates could not but shake their fists

They wove a curse upon the ship
That none could find it, thus 'tis a myth.
Shall any find this ship of old
So laden with that pirate's gold?"

Yes, I know, but the order in which they are listed keeps changing, and I know it's not just my computer because it's happened on three different computers that I check posts at.

For example, it can show Return to Aetalanta, then RDINN feature, RDINN feature, then Noldaria, then RDInn Feature (which is what it is currently showing right now.

Then the next second it will show something along the lines of "A return to Aetalanta, then Noldaria, then RDInn, RDInn, Rdinn.." then I update again and it will show a different order...do you see what I mean?

It's too dang confusing. >.<

Either I am more nuts than I already thought I was, or I found a glitch/bug, call it what you will...

I keep checking threads that appear to have a new post to them, going by the "Latest Five Updated Topics" and yet there are no new posts made. Like right at this moment it shows a post was made to the Noldaria Q&A, after the post I made to the Faire, Redux!...however, when I checked it, the last post is still the same one that was there before I posted to "To the Faire, Redux!"

So...am I somehow imagining things? or did I catch a glitch?

I Will Overcome
Sunday, January 26, 2005

Just ignore this empty shell you see,
I’m not myself, I’m just a wasted dream.
I hate feeling like there’s no way out
There’s no where to go when I look about.

I’ve lost control, emotions raging high,
I struggled so hard, this I cannot deny,
To gain control of the broken me,
And bottle emotions like a raging sea.

Succeed I did for control was mine.
I bottled them all up deep inside,
And from my mind my cares did flee
Whenever they tried to torment me.

But all at once the bindings broke.
My emotions soon did take control,
And now I’m lost within their midst
No light now shines through these mists.

For so long I searched for the way out
Of the raging sea, and the rolling winds.
Damned emotions that surrounded me
I just wanted it all to end.

So conquer I did, these raging winds, and
The sea of emotions that controlled me.
And by the time I was out and free,
I was amazed at the sight that awaited me.

A drop of water in a tiny vial
That’s all my tempest was.
A vile so small my hand enclosed it,
And upon my face, a tiny smile.

Freedom was mine, the day was bright.
Life consumed me, no longer broken inside.
The warmth of the sun upon my face
Told of bright new days for me to face.

But now that vial, held tight in my hand
Has slipped through my grasp, and fallen to the land.
Shattered glass upon the earth
The sun is gone the storm re-birthed.

Consumed am I once again
The raging seas and the rolling winds.
I look about and see the night
No more warmth, now I must fight.

Now once again I stand alone
In the midst of the tempest, now my home.
Bound by emotions, no light can be found
Nothing but the cold, black night is all around.

My companion from so long ago,
Has found me and taken me home.
I never wanted to be found
By the torment to which I am bound.

Now I stand broken and alone
No path to see, no refuge my own.
I look to the skies, and my soul cries out
The torment inside echoes in the night.

I know I must fight, I must get out!
I cannot stay here to crumble and pout
The way out was found before,
Surely I can find it once more!

Where to look? Where to turn?
Never must I stop my search!
Outside my storm, my weakness strong
I know there’s a place where I belong

People do care, they do love me!
I must fight to be set free,
And return to the land outside my storm
Where my soul can never more be torn

But for now I am here, and I stand alone.
No hand to grasp, no peace my own.
The torment is tearing me up inside.
I want to lay down, to crumble and die.

But I know I can’t, I must stay strong!
There is an end to this night so long.
Outside these walls there is a place
Where I can find a friendly face.

As my body so weak, crumbles to the ground
I look to the skies and I make my vow:
I will never stop, never give up!
I will fight my way out, I will climb my way up!

I will find the place, I will reach the day
Where the night no more shall be the way!
I know there is something better for me,
So look out storm, and raging sea.

Now, Can I Heal?
Wednesday, December 8, 2004

A spark begins down deep within,
A raging fire is soon to begin.
No time to think, no time to react
The fire consumes all in it's path.

Seconds have passed, the destruction is great
None could have seen what would come in the wake
Of the pressures and tasks heaped up to the skies
Jammed all together these reasons are why.

No time to think, I shove all aside,
Just shoving it all to the back of my mind
Depression will settle, consuming my soul
Will I be left wondering, or dead in some hole?

If I don't face this and take it head on
To my anger, and rage will I be a pawn
So face it I must, though the tears will then flow
I'll be crumbled and broken, with no where to go.

Lost in the night, alone in the dark
Try as I might, I can't light the spark.
The hope burns away, the fire burns bright
'Till not even ash is left in this night

Despair now deceives me, the lies ringing true.
Chained to my sorrows, who can I turn to?
Into my pillow, I cry through the night,
My frustration no longer can flee to the skies

Now that I'm Broken, beat down, torn in two,
Exhausted, tear stained, depressed and all blue,
The damn has crumbled from the weight of my tears
Leaving me Free of my anger and fears.

Subject: Exciting Riddle-Partially solved?

Marie was so relieved that they were out of the room which held the horrible black soldiers that had nearly killed Damien and Vilyamar, and was overjoyed to see that they were all still alive. She hugged Teros warmly, if a bit hesitantly, and promptly released him. She smiled brilliantly up at him, and thanked him from the depths of her soul for his timely entrance. Once that was done, she was unable to keep her questions at bay.

“I thought you were leaving us for good! What happened? What brought you back to us? Did you find your lady-love? Where is she? Is she the one of whom you spoke in there? Myra was it?”

With barely a sliver of a breath in between, her questions took an entirely different route:

“And did you see that light?! Where did it come from? What brought it on? And what in the name of Noldaria took it so long?!”

She stood looking at him with her hands on her hips now, eagerly awaiting his response.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Once they had reached the fork in the path where the statue stood, everyone seemed to be trying to decide what action to take next. Scourge went to look down the darkened pathway they had yet to venture into. She walked up behind him and peered around him momentarily. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, she went back to the statue and looked it over.

Vilyamar showed his wisdom when he said that they must enter the tunnel and find the light. His words brought an excited smile to her lips.

“Oh! So the light must be some sort of stone or crystal, or some such thing, in the same shape as the star on the shield!”

Marie was so excited that Vilyamar seemed to have figured out part of the riddle, that she nearly bounced in place as she smiled at him enthusiastically, her hands clasped together, and tucked slightly under her chin. “And to think I was going to suggest we place the shield on the statue, thinking there must be a reason for the possibility of it being placed there!" She rolls her eyes at herself then looks back at him, a slightly more serious look on her face, though still smiling, "I think it may be wisest to leave the wisdom part of things up to you, Vilyamar. If that’s ok with you.”

With that she smiled brightly at him, with much approval shining in her eyes. She then went back over to Scourge, patted him lightly on the arm and readied herself to enter the mysterious pathway.
