The first thing that anyone notices when they meet Kurt E Wilhelm is his glasses. Almost comically thick, the lenses magnify Kurt's blue eyes to an shocking size. Add that to his sharp chin, his hooked nose, unruly brown hair, and his slim stature and you have a man that looks like a large, odd bird.

Kurt's father, Johan Wilhelm, is the CFO of European Fabrications United, a interplanetary corporation that produces and sells industrial replicators. His mother, Dr. Heidi Wilhelm is a Subatomic Physicist and is Head of Research and Development of the Sol Project at the London Institute of Technology and Sciences. Out of the five Wilhelm children, Kurt is the youngest and the only one to not be either a theoretical scientist with a doctorate or two or a high standing executive in a megacorporation. In fact, when Kurt told his family that he was joining Starfleet to become an engineer, they ridiculed him and began distancing themselves from the "family failure."

Personal Bio:
If asked to describe what Kurt E. Wilhelm is like as an individual, the more polite may say that he is singularly devoted to whatever task he has in mind. The impolite may say he is a few parts short of a starship. Indeed, Kurt is often lost in his mind, looking for solutions to problems that don't even exist yet.
