Family and Background:
Noah's father, Trenton Blair, served as a Starfleet crewman with a knack for astrophysics, before retiring at the rank of Petty Officer (1st class). His mother, Allison Blair, a talented young scientist herself, served as a civilian researcher aboard the USS Fealty, the research vessel that served as the bulk of Trenton's posting. Currently, the couple reside in the suburbs of Richmond, Virginia.

Noah has a younger sister, Melanie, who makes her living as a civilian engineer in California of Earth. His ex-wife, Christine Archer, lives on the Deneb II colony world. Finally, he has an adopted younger sister, Jacandra - a Betazed orphan taken in by his parents after Noah had entered college.

The Blairs passed their love of learning on to their son, instilling the value of higher education in him. Noah manifested that love as an affinity for living things, which led to his acceptance at Duke University.

It was the hope of the Blairs that their son would take the family tradition of the sciences further than either of them, that he would become a doctor. However, they had unwittingly planted another seed in their son - by sharing stories of interstellar travel, they had nurtured the desire to see the galaxy. Thus, after one year of postgraduate study, Noah left Duke and entered Starfleet Academy.

In the academy, Noah's interests of life and space met in the form of his specialty - xenobiology. In his senior year, he met Christine Archer, whom he wed shortly after graduation.

Christine wilted in the life of a Starfleet spouse, and though the couple hung on for eight years, they finally parted permanently in the fall of 2364.

Personal Bio:
Always a bright, hardworking student, Noah quickly translated aptitude in the classroom into competence in the field. His tour aboard the Archon, a survey vessel, was a positive experience that likely framed his career to come.

Next came his posting to the Tempest, an Oberth class science vessel on the fringes of Federation space. As assistant CSO, Noah developed a cure for the carcivirus that threatened to decimate the Aderin colony - and in turn saved his own life and those of several shipmates who had also become infected during a mission on the planet's surface.

After promotion to lieutenant commander, Noah somewhat reluctantly took a new posting as CSO of the Osprey, a New Orleans class vessel with a penchant for operations near the Romulan Neutral Zone. It was here that Captain Justin Reynolds (who had personally requested that Noah be assigned to his vessel) encouraged him to take command training. This led to Noah's promotion to commander, as well as to his assignment as first officer when Jal Tundar was promoted to captain and given her own command.

It was also here that his unhappy marriage to Christine finally came to an end. It was obvious to them both that his destiny lay among the stars, while she was more than ready to settle down. After the divorce, she relocated to the Deneb II colony world with her friend, Jason Matkins.

Career-wise, the tour aboard the Osprey was a different experience for Noah, as the mission repertoire became much more military in nature as compared to his previous experiences. It was not, however, the romulans who would be responsible for the watershed moment is Noah's command, but instead a group of separatist militants in the Ubari IV system.

Unbeknownst to Starfleet, a civil war had erupted on the surface of this border world (considered to be neutral, though sympathetic, to the federation). The Osprey was lured by a distress call from a vessel just outside the system proper - the Ubarians had faked severe damage to their own ship with the intention of hijacking a better-armed federation vessel for use in their internal struggle.

While Noah and an away team were on board the Ubarian vessel, they were ambushed and captured, while the militants boarded the Osprey, killing Captain Reynolds and many of the crew with a surprise attack. Noah and the surviving members of the away team managed to escape and return to the Osprey, where they launched a surprise attack of their own, retaking the vessel. Assuming command, Noah destroyed the Ubarian ship and ordered the damaged Osprey to return to federation space before collapsing from his own wounds.

What he saw as a failure, Starfleet saw as gallantry. Noah received a medal and a promotion to captain, and was given the posting to the newly-commissioned USS Discovery. Her mission is more to his liking, as she is the only current Galaxy class ship with standing orders that classify her as a science and exploration vessel.

Noah's career has been one of twists and turns. He has realized his dream of seeing the stars, and the life that dwells among them. He has earned personal accolades and has achieved more, career-wise, than he truly believed he ever would.

He has also suffered a fair amount of personal pain along the way. The rocky relationship, and eventual divorce, with his ex-wife has left him reluctant to enter into any sort of serious relationship; a reluctance he hides with a tireless marriage to his work. Rather than possessing any sort of pride in his heroic actions at Ubari IV, Noah feels guilt over the death of Captain Reynolds and the other crew members, believing that he should have done something differently. If anyone brings up the incident or his commendations, he tends to divert the subject quickly.

Though he now commands his own vessel, Noah manages to make time to visit his beloved labs, and in the event of scientific finding of interest, he will certainly be found in the thick of things.
