Off duty, Callie looks like she could walk into any Earth biker bar and be right at home. Her short spiky black hair is paired with the fine sculpted lines of her face and the athletic build of her trim body. A few tattoos speckle her arms and back, not to mention the earrings and barbell in her eyebrow. Black leather and low cut jeans are her choice of clothing. On duty the tattoos are covered, the jewelry removed and the hair a little less sharp looking, but there is still a bit of the Rock’n’Roll to the way she is poised.

Kennedy grew up in Alaska with her parents. Her father, Eugene Kennedy, owned a power company there and she worked side by side with him as his protégé. He was a nuclear engineer himself and worked on the plant more than he did in the board room, so she learned a lot under his guidance. When he died the company was taken over by the board instead of falling into her hands like she had always envisioned. So she decided to join Starfleet in order to continue a career in her desired field.
Before joining the fleet she had been at MIT and lived a rather ‘Rock’N’Roll’ life outside of class. She has several tattoos and piercings that she got during that time (not visible while in uniform). Hanging out at rock bars and even spending a summer as a groupie. She has quieted down with the partying aspect, but still dresses the part and listens to hard rock (especially while working on a major project) when she can.
While at the Academy she met Jason Ridgeway who was a student a year ahead of her. They were both in the engineering program and after dating for a few years they were married when he graduated. She was still in school at the time and the distance was difficult. When the finally got assigned to the same ship it was already too late for their marriage and they soon got divorced. She has not been in a serious relationship since then.
She does not like her name. To friends she is known as ‘Callie’, to co-workers it is Kennedy, although her favorite moniker is simply her rank, ‘Commander’.
Kennedy has a siamese cat on board with her named Pudding.
