Torigad

Torigad enjoyed his bacon and eggs although not of the highest quality it beat nuts and cherries anyday. He felt as though he needed to talk about his proposed exploration and asked "So where are we planning to head? we need a plan, and a good one if we are to survive which i fully intend to. I think we should wait until the last room is taken that way we can now for sure we have the maximum of oppurtunities to recruitpeople for our group." Torigad hoped they would agree with his thinking after-all it was logical.

Tellanth

Sodgrove - The Broken Tankard

As he is being shown to his room he inquires about a copper tub and the possibility of a laundry service. He takes a bath and a short but decadently comfortable nap in a bed.

After his nap he makes himself presentable in some clean robes and heads down stairs around noon - 1 and sits at a table orders some food and asks the staff about shopping opportunities that might be available in town. All the while studiously watching all the patrons in the inn, trying to get a handle on who people are and what their conversations are about.

Ixion - Sodgrove: The Broken Tankard

After taking a leisurely bath, Ixion dresses and straps on his rapier. He slings his pack over one shoulder and heads downstairs, entering the main hall just in time to catch the last part of the Dwarf's suggestion.

"Oh, but where is the fun in that?" Ixion walks up to the table and slides into a chair, leaning his pack agaist one of the table's legs. "Hey, Barkeep, I'd like some breakfast here," he calls back over his shoulder before addressing the group, "You say you want to foray out into the wilds, during the Stillness no less. I'd prefer to find out what kind of people I'm signing up with before joining my survival with your skill... especially since I don't know anything about what you can or cannot do. I haven't even caught your name matter.

"Myself, I can hold my own in a fight. But I much prefer to study my opponent and exploit circumstances as they arise instead of just charging in with axe waving. What is your philosophy on tactics, dwarf?" He motions to the dwarf's large battle axe. "With weapons like that I assume you do not favor subtlety."

A discourse on being

The barmaid comes around and drops off a pile of eggs and bacon and more bread. A pair of halflings from the kitchen comes by with fresh milk and chickery coffee smelling of roasted pecans and almonds.

Tellanth, off by himself, is also served by a serving girl. She brings him coffee and fresh fruit. After tending to him, she comes by the "main table" during this almost heated exchange and offers fruit.

Snowlilly

"Ixion, you didn't seem to favor subtlety last night. Not that I wasn't flattered." She grins mischievously.

Ixion - Sodgrove: The Broken Tankard

The thin man returns Snowlilly's grin, "True, but last night neither of us were trying to bury a knife in the other. If our teaming up leads to blows, as journeying through the Stillness often does, I want to know that those I'm with aren't going to always overlook a stealthy approach."

Ixion's turns to the dwarf, "Not that battle cries and a reckless charge are similarly out of the question... sometimes that's what's called for. However, I like to plan and that kind of move throws strategy into the wind, don't you agree Master Dwarf?" As he finishes the question he flicks a dagger out of nowhere and uses it to skewer an apple off of the barmaids tray.

((Sleight of Hand keep observers from noticing where exactly the dagger came from. SoH again to place a copper piece on the maid's tray))

Ixion leans back in his chair and takes a bite out of the apple, still impaled on his knife.

My name - Torigad

SODGRAVE

Torigad sat up straighter than he was before and said "I, I am Torigad the son of a once mighty man whose ffriends betrayed him and left me to die. I am skilled in a fight in both charging in and subtelty as I am adaptable these weapons may look like random bits of steel but these are well crafted wepons made of the greatest metal around not mere hack 'n' slash weapons" By the end of the ceasless ranting Torigad's face was flustered and red, he finally gave that scrawny human a oiece of his mind he wasn't a piece of dirt he was a living being.

After finishing his breakfast he decided to just sit there he now wasn't in the mood to do anything, until he remebered the, new look, he went up to the bar to ask for a razor from the barkeeper, who went to the backroom you could hear the clashing of metal and then he poked his head round the door and said "One minute" after this minute he was out in the bar once more with a mirror and a razor in each hand "here you are sir" and he ushered Torigad upstairs. Torigad shuffled up the stairs and back into his rooom he fiddled around there for a good half an hour figuring out what style he wanted.

Snowlilly

"Oh, Ixion, you shouldn't be so hard on him. He seems like his heart is in the right place. Tactics can be discussed when the time comes." Snowlilly smiles sweetly at him and then takes a polite sip from her cup.

The Broken Tankard

Sodgrove

((Slight of hand successful on both attempts. No one saw anything.))

The morning grows long, and soon it is leaning toward noon. The sun slips behind the great moon Dosojin. All grows dark. the maids light the table lamps, and the male minstrel pulls out his mandolin, ostensibly to play a song. Perhaps that one about the light in the sudden darkness, a catchy tune about forbidden lovers being caught during an eclipse.
((just as a heads up, eclipses happen all the time here. The sun moves across the sky in a day but the moons take months to do the same thing. On a daily basis, the moons don't seem to move at all. There is an eclipse almost once a day during some seasons, and two or three times a day in winter.))

All is quiet for a moment.

In the distance, a woman screams. The sound came from outside the inn.

((everyone hears the woman scream, even from upstairs. These thatched roofs are warm, but don't block sound well.))

Tellanth - Sodgrove

Hearing the commotion, Tellanth moves to a window to try to get a view of the street/area the scream came from.

Bolt it - Torigad

SODGROVE

Torigad dropped his razor on his beard along side his mirror only half of his face had been shaved he looked like a fool, however this was not top of his priorities he felt almost a duty to see what was going on as he had stayed for at least one night in this village. So Torigad grabbed his waraxe slung it over his back grabbed his prized possesion lightbringer wielding it in his hands held up high above his head, he burst through the doorway and leaped down the stairs and did a rough rollie poly roll to finish he was like an acrobat the way he moved, swiftly he jumped up and ran through the doorway seeing the new one standing at a window that would not do at all. the way he rushed into the open square was a bull like manor he scanned the local houses around (spot check) looking for any signs of trouble.

T'puuli Drathir'anon

Outside The Broken Tankard

As she approaches town on this dreary afternoon, hoping that a room with a bath is available and for some food that was cooked. T’puuli hurried her tired feet. When she hears a woman screaming she will forget the fatigue she was feeling and run towards the scream.

Ixion - Sodgrove: The Broken Tankard

Ixion slowly stood up and picked up his pack, slinging it over his shoulder as he finished off the apple he'd been nibbling at for the last half hour.

A thud to his left grabbed his attention and he nearly loosed his dagger, recognizing Torigad just in time to stop the reflexive throw. "Stupid dwarf, you don't go making..." Ixion mumbled under his breath as he turned back to the door, but then his brain processed the new look Torigad had given his facial hair.
He did a double take so profound that he simply forgot there was one last table still between him and the door. Watching the dwarf charge out of the tavern, unable to take his eyes off the partially shaved dwarf out of pure disbelief, Ixion stepped into the table. He barely bruised his right thigh, but the impact threw his balance off horribly. He spun to the left and shifted his weight off the impeded leg, planning to simply tumble around the obstacle and be on his way. Everything would have gone smoothly had there not also been a chair...

Ixion emerges from the Broken Tankard a few seconds behind Torigad, dagger in one hand, rapier in the other, and a fresh bruise on his face.
