Location

SD - Are we in the Border Forest? Is the mt range the letter referred to probably the dragonspire Mts?

I found a map of the Forgotten Realm on one of the "companion web sites" listed on the home page. It has no details - and certainly didn't include the town of Oaks heart, but it does include Kentil Keep and the Moonsea.

Just curious - I have never campaigned in the Forgotten Realms before.

the area

you are in the forest on the other side of the mountains east of Tilverton. below shadowdale. I just made up Oak's Heart as a small logging town that services Tilverton.

O.k. guys the bunkhouse has one large room with 8 sets of bunkbeds running along the walls. it has a smaller front room which is a kitchen and dining area with 2 tables and chairs and a wood fired stove(still hot) pots and pans and the like are scattered around. there is still some bread cheese, beans, and a few root vegatables in the kitchen. the only door leads out to the porch. it is large and covered with a few chairs on it. at the ends on bothe sides are 2 barrells for chatching rain water. There is a small fireplace in the bedroom area as well.
Behind the Bunkhouse about 75 yards is an outhouse. to the left of the house is a blacksmith shop with firepit and anvil etc. attached to the back of it is a makeshift stable area. there are no animals present. 2 large piles of logs are in front of the house about 100 yards distant. They are approx. 10' high X 50' long X 50' wide.

Gamma World?

Why does that sound familiar? What was/is Gamma World?

Gamma World

I think Dad used to play Gamma World. I think I even remember coming across some GW books a few weeks ago when I was going through some boxes of gaming supplies, along with a ton of Steve Jackson games stuff.

Safe?

Now that we are all ensconsed in a fine cabin, let's build a fireplace fire, eat, post guard, and get some sleep and head "somewhere" after early brekfast tomorrow. Rat has agreed to a double watch if necessary.

No fire

No fire so we don't attract the wrong kind of attention. The orc bodies are missing, so someone knows this location and it won't be hard for them to come back if they think someone is here.

Plans

Well, we still don't have a schedule for night watch - although we do have a generous offer from our courageous and musical Rat.

Also needed for a general post: Who has healing spells and who needs healing? Where do they get used? I would think we cast healing spells now with the idea that we will have the chance to get them back with a night of studying/praying.

I know Anvil is hurt, I need check how much. Who else is hurt and who has spells? Spell caster has last call on who gets healed.

Injuries

Injuries were not as bad as I thought:

Anvil -3 (now 8/11)
Trillian -1
T'Sal -1

I might have missed some, but that is all I noticed.

gamma world

i played it a little in the late 80's. if memory is correct it was a post nuclear game where you could be a pure strain human(tech warrior) a mutated human or a pure mutant creature. i remember having fun playing it and twilight 2000(a 'at the time' modern warfare game).

healing

don't forget that after you rest due to being properly bandaged all will regain 1 hp. that will leave Hingutulli at -1 and Anvil at -2 in the morning. if all goes as planed that is.

the Night

In the interest of keeping things moving . . .

Ok, it seems Hingatuli is our only cleric and he has no healing spells. So unless we use a potion, we have no healing ot do. But, as was pointed out, we can regain a point each by resting. A good idea. So I guess that is all we can do to heal.

One sleep spell was cast - did anyone else cast a spell - if not, they don't need to pray/study, do they? So only one wizard, either Trillain or T'Sal should need to study. The other is available for guard duty.

Two people per shift? Two hours per shift?
Anvil and Rat
Wizard and Hingatuli
Wizard and Hingatuli
Anvil and Rat
Anvil and Rat
That would be 10 hours total - 6 hours rest for everyone, plus time to study and rest for the "sleep casting" wizard. I just tried to give people at least 4 hours straight to rest. Anvil and Rat get the least sleep.

Night guards are hard if we only have 4 people who can take a shift. We also have the dogs. Do we dare go with only one guard at a time? How much rest do we each really need?

I agree no fire.

Also, consider posting about what you want to do in the morning. Anvil suggest checking out the bridge - to see if we can cross the stream (How big is it anyway?) without having to go right next to the orc caves.
