You will start in the port cit of sul'thay in thay, Times for the people there have been hard the past few weeeks constant raids of corsairs and pirates each time they grow in number sul'thay cannot hold out for much longer you must ride to the nearest lying city eltammar the capital of thay 300 miles away if you take the direct route through the treacherous lake or round the lake taking longer but much much safer.


This is my first time DM-ING this way so if that puts you off dont join and if you do dont moan only advise me please.

I have the 3.5e core books and not much else.
I hae the 3e core books and a few others, including the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting. Is the 3.5e version of Forgotten realms much different from the 3e version?

I ask because:

Sul'thay? I can find Surthay, on the southern shore of the Lake Mulsantir.

Eltammar? Can't find on map.

I mean, that is all irrelevant, but I was curious. Would the feats listed in the 3e Forgotten Realms Campaigns Book work in 3.5e?

This would be my first game in this type of play-by-post setting, and first level with a new DM doesn't put me off a bit. It's all about the learning, yes?

Do you require Statistic rolls to be witnessed? Or is this on the honor system?

I know how the Red Wizards view Sorcerors but would like to play one nonetheless, if allowed. (it would be another reason for her to leave/move out)

If not, I can just as easily play a Ranger, Rogue, Cleric, or Fighter (each single-classed and in order of preference)

If I seem kinda wishy-washy about character class, it's because I have no real favorite. I just enjoy the game, regardless of what I play ...

i only have the core 3.5 books too so... omly use them please.

also i used the map of FR on the WotC website it may vary. Sorry for the typo the city is the capital Eltabbar. south of lake thaylambar and directly south of sur'thay. i also spelt sur'thay as sul'thay but you get the idea.

Sorry I can't join in, but I can answer the question.

The 3rd ed. regional feats in the FRCS are more or less unchanged in 3.5, so choosing one of those shouldn't be a problem.

it set in FR Faerun u start in thay in sur'thay too be precise the first outline of your mission is a delivery one where there is many paths to choose some wet some dry some safe some.....not. Starting level 1 i hope it will blossom in quite a long campaign but tit may not. any thing goes u first find about the mission on the town crier/noticeboard. anything else?

..... because I started playing these D&D adventures on these boards a couple of months ago and all the adventures I have joined are DMed by different people.

A couple of them are first timer DMs so I have no problem with that aspect as I have to rely on the DM or someone else to help me create my character.

I chose to get into several games because I soon discovered that a few [sometimes many!] days pass before an update is posted and I was wanting to play on a consistent basis.

So when I find an interesting storyline and some players I have not gamed with in any other games [plus getting recruited to play in a couple adventures!] then I consider playing if I can get inspired by a particular character.

I live overseas [American working at a newspaper in Doha, Qatar] and in July and part of August I will be on vacation in the States.

The vacation may severly curtail any consistent posting for a few weeks, but hopefully I will be able to purchase some D&D books to help me with my role play on these boards when I return!

So anything that might pique my interest to play is what I am fishing for!



So I guess I should ask about any Class or Character limitations and what we are able to create for the first level?

create any character u like however strange or normal i dont mind just send me a character and done i will check for any anamolies then u r ready to play.

Me, Dragon Mistress AKA Joanne, I would like to start out with a bard but will multiclass. (How about a 1/2 elf-1/2 drow for a character.)

..... think about it and I will let you know if I decide on a character that would be interesting to play!

In all my reading, I have never run across how to do this. How do you multiclass a level one character? Even a minimum Multiclass of 1/1 is considered 2nd level, no? Or did I miss something when I read the book(s) ...?
