~Crimson Blood~

Occ: First off i will say i have a job and might post a ton one week and very few times the next...but i will do my best...and will be posting at least 2 a week... if anything is going on.. Next i'm starting a game because my table top DnD games have been very slow lately it's hard to get people together...when everyone has different lives...It's been a while but here we go~
BIC:

(The Layout)
The story begins is Eurishka..... a small village....miles from anything. Everyone in this village know one another...and strangers..while not unwelcome...are looked after closely. The last war ended nearly 400 years ago. Peace is all that is known now, Because of this many people seem a bit to trusting and relaxed within life. The small town has one inn....with the tavern inside of it. Only a couple of shops...and many civilian homes. It's quite and undisturbed by the outside world. It was all built within a deep valley. The travel here takes quite long and is strenuous. A person would not have much reason to come here other than a place to rest during travel... or by accident. The town has a very nice array of races and ages. This town has dwarves, humans, halflings, half orcs, and just about every other race...coinciding. It is a beautiful place.. the buildings where clearly built by dwarves, and even looks like elven constructors.........

(Entrance of an uneasy stranger.)

She was not quite sure why she had been lead to this place...It seemed such a simple town.. She walked uneasy knowing her appearance would not please the locals of the town...she had always been secretive. It was dark outside, yet she wore her hood up. She walked slowly and carefully watching and listening around her. By the position of the moons she thought it to be about 3am. All the candles within houses had been long extinguished and there was a dead unnerving silence.. She was used to the bustle of cities...they had been her home..on and off for the past couple of years. Her long unnatural crimson hair floated in and out of the shadows from her hood. Her matching eyes darted around quickly. Then she saw the sign she was looking for.. “An Inn Finally!” She jumped slightly at the sound of her own voice.. she hadn't heard any noises for so long...she startled herself.

She grabbed the handle to the stone door and gently pulled it open and walked in. The Inn Smelled of ale and fried potatoes. Her large boots echoed down the dimly lit hallway... a sleeping human was behind the innkeepers desk. She didn't want to awaken him, so she carefully removed on of the room keys from behind him, and left a small gold pouch on his lap. She then heads towards the sound of chatting and glasses being hit together. “Ahhh the Tavern”
She enters...The exact thing she hoped wouldn't happen did. All went dead as she entered and what seemed like hundred of eyes glared at her. “Just passing threw..” Happily that was all the excuse they needed and they went about there business again. She took a seat in front of the large fireplace...on a large sofa..that was over stuffed and seemed to be big enough for a giant. When she looked around she realized why.. The man standing behind the bar was a hill giant... probably the owner... she didn't mind it was quite comfortable... to say the least. The fire warmed her pale skin and chilled blood.... She sat quietly and ordered nothing from the wench when she walked by...she was content in this spot for now... She sighed heavily from both exhaustion and the feeling of being content........

(description of my character just in case you wanna know)

She wares dark robes, she always keeps the hood up. She has crimson hair and crimson eyes. And no she is not a demon or vampire...or anything like that..she is a common race.. at least she is half a common race..i won't say what yet.. She wares large black boots.. and has many secrets hidden within her robes. Her robes are black with many designs in a dark red... she carries a pack, and a small bow...she has much more... but that is all that can be seen on her....at this time..

Unseen, Unheard, and Unknown

Day falls towards night, and night holds her closely in his comforting care and embrace. The little girl, invisible to most eyes, had seen many of these despite her age. What drew her to this world, she didn't know, and she wouldn't know until she found out!

Her wings beating softly in the air, too light for even the owl to tell, the girl flies through the town, letting anything and everything catch her eye. There, who was that? Through the tavern's window, the little girl can see someone who stands out. Red, crimson red, an uncommon colour for common people.

Finding a spot to sit outside, the girl, invisible to all, watches inside. She wasn't hungry; she didn't need to eat, so she didn't need to enter and alert others to her presence. If she decided to enter, she would later, but now is too early to tell. Curiousity draws the girl to stay, and so she does.

OOC: No description yet because she hasn't been seen ^_^

Oooh, Noticed

Their eyes meet. The girl nearly gasps as the person in red looks directly at her. Not just anyone can intuitively notice me She thinks.

Her curiousity provoked, the girl memorizes this person, taking in their appearance. Whenever she visited a world, she often found that there is one individual she would end up being involved with, despite the fact that she tried very hard not to interfere with that world. Her curiousity would always get her involved in things her common sense would otherwise dictate as unsafe. Still, it made things interesting, and she didn't mind.

The little girl looks up at the sky. It's dark, I'd imagine the stores are closed now. She reasons, Well, I'll just stay here then.
Getting up, so she wouldn't be knocked against by some wanderer, the girl flies over to the roof on the building opposite, and sits there, watching inside the tavern. Her small and light body hardly disturbs the roof, barely even nudging a shingle.

Morning arise

Against her better judgment she slowly stands and stetches and heads up to her room...not to sleep but to merely be alone....away from prying eyes...to her amazement she took one of the master bedroom keys..she didn't mind...she opened the window and threw open the shades....she than sat at the table in the middle of the room and lit a single candle where she read and wrote in her many books...that appeared from nowhere..until the sun began to arise....

Entrance of the Hunter

He is bone-weary.

For days he has been traveling, never really continuing in a set direction, just wearily covering miles and miles of terrain as he put more distance between himself and his lifelong home...the home from which he had been forever exiled.

His heart still ripped open like a freshly-scabbed wound whenever he thought of it. For his entire life he had called the tiny village of Coldwater home; it was there he had been raised to live in harmony with nature; it was there he had learned to hunt, track, skin and otherwise make use of nature's bounty, learning never to kill merely for the sport but to nourish body and mind, taking a proper place in the natural order of things. It was there that he had learned the use of weaponry from his father, a longtime soldier, weaponsmaster. hunter and tracker. It was there that he had felt a lifetime of love and belonging, of acceptance and family, of education and skills-learning, of a happy and well-rounded life. And it was there that he found the magic within him.

He remembered the thrilling moment of discovery, when a bolt of magic fire had leapt from his fingertips one day as he was working with his father at his father's shop. To this day, he had no idea where it came from or what had triggered it. And also to this day, he had been unable to repeat it, and he had had ample time to try on this lonely journey of exile. He and his father had stared at each other, dumbfounded, as he frantically tried to reason out where the mystical display had come from. Unfortunately, that display of wild magic had been seen by townsfolk patronizing the shop, and unfortunately for him, their reaction instantly damned him. Having never seen such things in their sequestered and close-minded ignorance, the townspeople immediately denounced him as a "sorceror", a "demon", and other equally ignorant and unflattering terms. And having no desire to try and reason through what had happened, they exiled him from the village. And while his family looked on in helpless frustration, he left his lifelong home, never to return.

There was, of course, more to the story, but the daily necessities of traveling and surviving this journey, and the heartache that inevitably set in, kept his mind mostly focused on the present and possible destinations for this journey of exile.

He has now been traversing a ridgeline for a day or more when he sees a small village below him in the valley. Succumbing to a very human need for fellowship, and perhaps also feeling a sense of destiny there, he makes his way down the mountainside to the little village nestled in the valley beneath.

Nightfall has come, and in the wee hours he enters the village. Passing a small sign proclaiming the name of the village as Eurishka, he trudges down the main street and spots the inn, with the welcome and warm light pouring from its windows. He enters the inn, spots the sleeping innkeeper behind the desk, and continues through to the welcome sounds of fellowship coming from the tavern.

All conversation stops as he enters the room. The patrons see a road-weary traveler garbed in dark green animal-skin tunic and pants, knee-high leather traveling boots, brown leather vest, and various leather pouches and packs containing the necessities of foot travel and survival. They see a dark green traveler's cloak slung to the back, the unstrung bow slung across his back, and the sword strapped over the bow, along with daggers slung on each hip. They see his tall, stocky and somewhat imposing frame, the black mustache, beard, and long black hair tied back in a ponytail, and they see piercing blue eyes as he meets the wary stares with a challenging glare.

The patrons' merrymaking cautiously resumes, and he makes his way to the bar and orders a mug of ale. As he waits, he looks around the tavern and takes note of the various common-looking townsfolk, and his eyes stop as he sees the crimson glint of eyes watching him from an obviously female figure seated upon a sofa. He cannot help but wonder what she looks like underneath the hooded cloak, and since the townsfolk obviously don't want his company at their tables, he takes his ale and makes his way to the sofa, sitting down near the mysterious woman. He tips his mug in her direction, says "To the joys of travel and fellowship" in an ironic fashion, and drinks a large draught.

He doesn't know what's to come, but the feeling of destiny only gets stronger as he looks at this dark and mysterious woman.

((OOC: Guess you posted the retirement to the room while I was working on this. Feel free to backpost reactions and such. Sorry if I stepped on your storytelling toes.))

Ohmigosh! Another!

The little girl, seated comfortably on her perch outside, feels her heart race as another enters and encounters the crimson person. He was clearly a traveler, perhaps similar to herself, even if he is more human than she is.

Like her, this man felt something about the crimson woman, and chose to perhaps acquaint himself with her. I wonder how it is, to be a stranger, and seen in this world. The girl thinks, Perhaps I should try it... later.
The girl continues to watch, reading the lips of the people inside, as she continues to sit alone, in silence.

(backpost) I see..

She watches the weary traveler enter... She is intrigued as to why another stranger would be here in this forgotten town on this very night. She wasn't sure how to react to the situation. He didn't seem to be here for the same reason as her however....or so she hoped...she didn't need more enemies. He approaches her...she doesn't mind company...it's not so bad. He speaks to her "To the joys of travel and fellowship" She smiles....not that he could really tell.. She thinks for several moments... The joys of travel and fellowship... She repeats it in her mind.. she nods and takes a sip of her wine... Unsure of what to really say she starts to stand and stretch...she nods to the new comer.... “I think it best if i retire to my room for now. Perhaps, i will see you in the morning?” Her voice is cool and calm... almost like a sweet song...but a hint of venom can be heard in her tones.. It was not intended...but its they way she talks... her voice almost hypnotizing. When she speaks all the patron freeze and stare at her, Trying to decide if such a beautiful voice could really come from within the shadows of her hood. She ignores them and leaves to her room...

~Morning~

OCC:Just moving things along.... If you wish to back post...feel free...

BIC:

The Suns starts to dwindle the stars in the sky, its rays slowly envelope the land. They valley stays darker longer than the parts around it. When she sees the sky lighten she closes her many books and slides them into her pack. She extinguishes the now unneeded candle. She stands and goes and washes up for the new day...

She has a good feeling about today. Then she feels the ground shake below her.. it startles her at first until she thinks about it and realizes that the tremors are simply caused by the owner waking. She giggles softly.... She gathers the other bobbles she had on the table and starts for the door, to head for the tavern.

The Tavern is somewhat empty...it is still a bit to early for the locals to be roaming about. She goes back to the oversize coach and plops down. She orders fried potatoes and some ale for her breakfast... She picks at it slowly really not hungry....while she thinks about her next move in her mission. The bar wench lights the fireplace in front of her, then smiles and takes her leave to the kitchen preparing for the morning rush......

The Hunter Retires

The Hunter watches the mysterious woman of crimson leave the room, and he notices all other eyes doing the same.

An intriguing woman, he thinks. Intriguing...and dangerous. I think I like her already.
He grins at this last thought, drawing curious looks from some of the nearby patrons. He stands up and walks to the window, looking out at the sleeping village.

His eye catches a fleeting glimpse of movement on a nearby roof, but when he focuses on the spot, he sees nothing. Just a nightbird, he thinks.

But at that instant, as thoughts of the phantom movement on the rooftop and thoughts of the mysterious woman's haunting crimson eyes fill his mind, he feels a familiar tingle and looks down to see his fingertips briefly glow. The magic! It lives in me still!
Recovering from his dumbfounded sense of wonder at seeing the magic within him again, he recalls the feeling of destiny that seems to surround this place. Perhaps the key to unlocking the secrets of this magic lies here, he thought. And perhaps this mysterious crimson-eyed beauty is part of it...and whatever I saw in the night as well.
As a wave of weariness again washes over him, he shrugs these thoughts to the back of his mind and decides a good night's sleep is the biggest key to anything right now. He walks back out of the tavern to where the innkeeper still sleeps behind his desk. In a flash of mischievousness, he SLAMS his fist down upon the desk. He chuckles as the innkeeper jolts awake...and promptly falls off his stool. As the startled and freshly-awakened man picks himself up, the Hunter looks at him gravely and says "A room, if you please."

The innkeeper turns to the board hung with room keys and tilts his head, as if he notices something missing. He then looks down to see the pouch that fell from his lap, snatches it up, and peers inside. Looking satisfied, he then grabs a key from the board and puts it on the desk, glaring at this man who seems to enjoy waking people in a rude fashion. The Hunter reaches into a pouch and grabs two gold coins, slamming them upon the desk with a glare of his own, challenging the innkeeper to say a word. He snatches up the key in one deft movement and heads for the stairs.

Finding the room number that is engraved on the key, he enters the room. He takes a moment to put his gear upon the table and wearily collapses on the bed, prudently sliding one of his daggers underneath the pillow. As his eyes drift closed, he cannot help but feel that he is being watched...and then all thoughts fade as blissful sleep claims him.

The night passes without incident. He arises the next morning, feeling very refreshed after a night's sleep on something other than hard-packed earth. He puts his daggers in their sheaths on his hip, leaving the rest of his gear on the table as his stomach rumbles, reminding him that it is time for some breakfast.

He locks the door behind him and goes back down to the tavern, where he orders another mug of ale, some fried potatoes and a thick steak. Looking around for a place to sit, he again sees the mysterious woman in crimson.

He takes his food and drink to where she sits and asks "Is this seat taken?"

Pretty Day

It is morning, and the sun slowly peeks its shy light over and into the valley. The little girl has been watching throughout the night, watching the world as it flows around her. She didn't need sleep, and so she didn't sleep, but she still liked to dream, something that could only occur in sleep.

It is early, still a bit too early to go shopping, but that could wait; there is movement to notice. The crimson woman, awake already, on the move already. The little girl is surprised; she didn't really expect there to be any hurry. Back in the tavern, the woman seems to wait, while eating her breakfast. The man quickly reappears, also having his own meal. The little girl wonders if she too should enter.

Time to change? The girl questions, No, not yet; I don't have a reason to. She reasons, Perhaps they'll notice me, perhaps they'll not; either way, it is better to just watch in the beginning.
The little girl playfully thinks about playing a poltergeist, but it is just a thought, and one that is not acted upon, leaving the two below to their own conversation and meals.

Sure

The man from last night approches her. She motions to the spot next to her.. "Nope it's not taken, have a seat. If you don't mind me asking, your name perhaps?" She waits for his reply. Half listining half lost in her own thoughts, perhaps this stranger is part of her destiny... maybe..just maybe he can help her. Jumping to conclusions again....

She continues to fiddle with her breakfast, then decides against it and pushes it aside, then downs the rest of her ale and calls for some more. Something about this man before her. She can feel an untapped power, deep inside him. Something, much like what she had felt about herself at a much younger age.. She wounders if he knew, if he even had a clue. She guessed he didn't or he wouldn't look as he did. He looked like a common man...kinda... but she knew there was much more to him..

Then there it was again she could feel another precense....much smaller...but unlike the commoners... Another stranger..what had lead them both here at this time.. Something was happening..she wasn't sure what they had to do with her mission.. but she could tell that some how they where involved. She wasn't sure if she liked it...perhaps they where here to stop her, or perhaps they had no idea what they had stumbled into..and she could use them to help her...

She waited for the mans reply quitly...looking at him with her crimson eyes...almost looking threw him...into his very being...searching for the answeres she needed...

The conversation begins

"Nope it's not taken, have a seat. If you don't mind me asking, your name perhaps?"
"My name is Artemis Deschaine, at your service."

He smiles at her as he sits down and begins wolfing down the surprisingly good steak and potatoes. He is quite hungry, having not found good game for a few days. He has been surviving mainly on small kills, jerky and other trail rations, and he relishes the flavor of a hot, home-cooked meal.

When he finishes eating, he wipes his mouth with a napkin and sits back; his appetite is satisfied, but not his curiosity.

"Pardon my table manners; I haven't eaten that well in a long time. I've been traveling for quite a while now; it was good to have something I didn't have to hunt myself."

"And might I have the honor of knowing your name, milady?"

He lounges back in the sofa, anticipating an interesting conversation.
