okay, I'll look over the details thoroughly and hope to post soon

Ahh, I'm curious Hammer, do you use feats and skills in C&C?

Cirro

Hey Cirro

Castles & Crusades uses a Siege Engine with the 12/18 Primes and Non-Primes system!

NO Feats! NO Skills!

Below is a brief description from Wikipedia

Castles & Crusades
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

System Siege Engine
Castles & Crusades is a role-playing game published by Troll Lord Games in 2004.

It was conceived as a reimagining of classic Dungeons & Dragons using streamlined mechanics from third edition Dungeons & Dragons.

The game uses many of the d20 System mechanics, but eliminates skills and feats and expands the number of character classes to 13.

Another feature is the reversion of some rules to the original versions seen in original Dungeons & Dragons (often referred to as "OD&D") or first edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (AD&D).

The system that Castles & Crusades uses is called the SIEGE Engine.

A significant new mechanic is the notion of "Primes," often referred to by gamers as the 12/18 system.

Through selection of character class and race, players designate some of their character's attributes as "Prime."

These Prime attributes use a challenge base of 12, while non-Prime attributes use a challenge base of 18.

Tasks based on the Prime attribute are therefore much easier to accomplish than those based on non-Primes.

Primes allow a wider variety of characters to be created because characters of same class may excel at different types of tasks.

Regarding Posting

Anyone Posting at Land of Xenophobia should ONLY write about your reaction to being assembled and your PC Character reaction to seeing the Giant Worker Ants marching onto the Dark Arena Sands!

Please Post Here at the Q&A what your Character will do as far as shooting an Arrow (2 Arrows for Cunning Fox and Ullrich by the way!) and which Ant you are shooting!

Your First Shot is Guaranteed to score a hit as I have waived the roll for whether or not your character makes a successful hit against the Ants!

From 2nd attack onward I will apply the dice rolls!

REMEMBER that I am rolling all Dice for All Combat Results!

Just Post Here What Your Character is Attacking and Where!

ABRAXIS is the Only One Who Has Posted Which Ant He is Attacking!

What About Everyone Else?

I will Post Ollie Gory and Bumble Brew sooon!

DOH

Made a Mistake on the BtH for ThunnGarr the Mighty!

I will be Deleting the GRIEVOUSLY WOUNDED addition that I Added to the Edit yesterday!

I mistakenly added his +4 BtH to the Damage Dealt when it actually is used to be added to the roll that determines if his attack makes contact with the intended target victim!

For all Players I am waiving that roll for the first round of attacks!

Therefore the Ant that ThunnGarr the Mighty has attacked has Only Passed Out and it will take another 10 points of Damage to Kill the Ant that is down!

That means that it will take anywhere from 2 to 10 Arrows to Kill the fallen Ant depending upon the rolls I make!

Ollie Gory and Bumble Brew will attack ...

the following Ants!

Ollie Gory will use 1 Charge of his Wand of Finger of Death to Kill the Ant on the 5th row at the far right currently located 6 squares behind the Ant that has fallen!

Both Ants have failed their Saving Throws!

BUMBLE BREW will be advancing 15 feet in a diagonal line or to make it easier to figure out on the map the following move is what she is making:

She will be at the space 3 squares to her left towards the West and then 3 squares forward towards the North which is 3 spaces in a North West diagonal line!

Then she will activate her Rod of Power to Unleash a Fireball that uses up one of her 50 Charges!

The impact of that Charge will strike the First Ant on the Left of the Second Row!

Then the Fire Ball will mushroom out and cover the First 3 Ants on Row 4, the First 4 Ants on Row 3, All 5 Ants on Row 2 and the First 4 Ants on Row 1 which excludes the Fallen Ant that ThunnGarr struck and has fallen!

I am ruling that the Fallen Ant fell to the right side of the square and therefore the Fire Ball just misses contact with that one!

The Fire Ball will Burn Up Any Arrows, so Bumble Brew is unleashing the Fire Ball at the last possible moment after everyone else has fired their Arrow or Arrows!

NOTE that MOST of the Ants struck by the Fire Ball will still be able to move on their next turn in whatever direction they react to moving!

So Your Second Attacks May or May Not Involve Hand Weapons as they can move farther and Attack than your characters can!

SHADOWDRAGON, NOMAD D2, BRIANNA, DRAGON MISTRESS and CIRROWOLF are to Post which Ant they are Firing Upon with their Arrows!

Meanwhile, I will work out what Ollie Gory, the Clerics, the Monks and the Fighters have done with their First Attack and then proceed to the Second Round of Combat for All Those NPCs while I await your instructions here!

After writing in Land of Xenophobia the results of the First Attack by the NPC Characters then I will Proceed to Write the Results of the Second Attack while hopefully being able to write the results of the PC Characters and their First Attack results!

You All Have Until Wednesday to Pick Your Targets or Else I Will Choose Your Target to Move the Game Along after I Post the NPC Character Results!

Posting Clarification

After you have posted in the Q&A which Ant your PC Character is targeting then you may Post in the Land of Xenophobia your Character reaction to the Opening Intro and the First Wave of Opponents!

This Will Include Your Character Targeting an Ant ... but You Will NOT Know the Results of Your Shots Until I Post the Results in a Land of Xenophobia Update!

Attention Brianna & Abraxis

Brianna your Helm of Comprehend Languages reveals to your character that the Giant Ants are Extremely Hostile and are Communicating Orders to Exterminate Every Non-Ant upon the Dark Arena Sands!

The Giant Ants are making a low buzzing sound communicating orders as they march towards their opponents!

Abraxis your Helm of Telepathy detects the surface thoughts of these Giant Ants and reveals to you that the Giant Ants are Extremely Hostile and are Determined to Exterminate Every Non-Ant they can find upon the Dark Arena Sands!

Your Helm also reveals that these Giant Ants possess High Animal Intelligence and are NOT Just Mindless Creatures!

Making Them More Dangerous!

But They Are Hostile and Extremely Dangerous with 100% Intentions to Kill Every Non-Ant Creature They Find on the Dark Arena Sands!

You May Communicate This Information to Your Teammates When You Post in Land of Xenophobia!
The Rest of Us All Realize that these opponents are Ants with Attitude! Whether or Not Brianna and Abraxis post the above information!

All of Us Know Intuitively that these Giant Ants Will NOT Negotiate! ONLY Exterminate!

We Caught a Break in Our Favor for Second Round

Just for the record, we the prisoners caught a break on the Initiative Roll for the Second Combat Round as I am rolling Initiative for the Ants as one group and all 4 Prisoner Types as one group!

I have completed all the Combat Round rolls for the other 3 groups here at the office at the end of the day!

If at all possible I will write up the results for the Bard, the Clerics the Monks and the Fighters if I am not too sleepy after I get home!

I rolled the Initiative for the Ants and then the Prisoners and the Prisoners won the Initiative, so all 4 groups get to attack again a 2nd Time before the Ants make a move!

Once all the PC Players have posted here at the Q&A as to which Ants you are attacking, then I can roll the scenario and write the results by Thursday if possible!

REMEMBER that if YOU Do Not Post Your Target by Wednesday then I will just Choose Your Target for you!

It may facilitate matters if you would also include your 2nd round choice of targets [dependent upon which Ants are still Alive!] and after I write up the results of your first attack I can follow up with the 2nd and by the weekend you will know what dire straights or good fortune your PC Character is facing!

The Game is Afoot My Friends!

Big big big bugs

Hmm, if I'm right, those buggers gotten pretty close to us did they? Tch, so many.

~Twitch~

hey Hammer, got any rules on weapon parrying (or is it blocking?)

As for the arrows, I'll shoot one in the 2nd row (south); ANT 4, fourth one from the left. The long bow goes 120' right? So I can hit something w/o moving right?

No the Composite Long Bow has a range of 110 feet and the Heavy Cross Bow that the Fighters are using has a range of 120 feet.

So you could actually fire at one of the Giant Ants attacking the East End Monks, but first things first and Yes You are Able to Fire from where you are standing and hit any target within 110 feet range!

Anyway, I have you noted to target Ant #4 in the second row!

Guess I only have time enough to write up what the Bard does because I am getting sleepy now!

Ullrich shoots

Ullrich will use his bow and target both arrows at the far right ant in row THREE. My understanding is that this is the furthest forward ant that will not have been hit by anything else yet.

He'll wait to see who survives the fireball. He won't attack the one that has been knocked out - that one is temporarily not dangerous.

For round two he will shoot at ants injured by the fireball. If it looks like some are badly hurt he will aim for two different ants. If it looks like they will take two arrows to take down he will concentrate his fire on one injured ant.

He will not move forward or backwards at the moment.

Amberlyn's strategy

Amberlyn has prepared to shoot her long bow first, she is standing to the right of the Giant Sward ready to use her her shield is slung for now and her sword is point down in the ground before her ready to take up when the ants get in melee range. Her target in the middle ant of the front line and then moving to the next ant to the right after she has downed her first target.

Shandra

Shandra takes up the bow and quickly draws and arrow and notches it. She lifts the bow and aim at the first row of of ants targeting the one on her right (Row 1,#5 counting from her left to right.) She keeps the staff close, though a wall of thorns would not do much to stop these giant ants, whith there exoskeleton acting a armor.

"For the Light!" she cries out.

Okay ...

..... today I am at the office without any of my game stuff, so I will have to take a look at things later tonight when I return home!

ShadowDragon sent me a PM informing me of the petrol crisis in Alabama and his workload infringing upon his game time, so I will just have Cunning Fox take the best shots available strategically!

Thanks for everyone's input and I will try to get a post for our group results done by Thursday night my time!

Still have to type the Clerics, Monks and Fighters ... but that can be done around our group when I get all the results jotted down!

South Enders Turn 1 - Combat Round 1 has just ...

..... been posted as I took the time here at the office to roll the dice and jot down the results and then type up the entry in Land of Xenophobia!

Last night I did not get home until 11pm and I promised to have this done by tonight ... so I took care of it with some of my free time before working on my sports scoreboard page here at the office!

You will notice when reading that I took the action of the PC Characters in the order that the Players contacted me with their Target Decisions!

For the Second Round of Combat the NPC Bard is going to assist the Fighters!

ThunnGarr the Mighty will make his move depending upon what the other PC Players Decide to do!

Bumble Brew will go last with another FireBall from her Staff of Power!

Cunning Fox will take his two shots right before Bumble Brew does her thing!

Let Me Know What You Decide for Round 2 Combat before the Giant Ants are Able to Advance Further!

Meanwhile ... I will have to post the Clerics, Monks and Fighters for the 1st and 2nd Combat Rounds along with our 2nd Combat Round ... Which I Plan to Have Done By Sunday!

Of Course ... I Will Do the South Enders 2nd Combat Round as Soon as I Receive Any Further Directions ... Or I Will Just Go Ahead and Post from What I Can Glean from Your Q&A Responses Previously!

Like I Would Assume that Sir Yder will Shoot at Ant #1 Again Until Eliminated By His Arrow Combined with Whoever Else will Target Ant #1 Again!
