Epoch: Fantasy-Horror D&D 3.5/Pathfinder Alpha Looking for 1

See below. Im looking for 1 player to complete my group as a replacement (playing a ranger, barbarian, fighter, monk, or druid) in my 6 months going campaign. Please reply here or email me at [email protected]. This game is run through freeware called Maptools, rather easy to learn and use. We play on Mondays and Wedensdays from 9 PM EST to about midnight EST. If there is enough interest in making it play by post, I could start a new topic.

Slow levelling, epic storyline, cool atmosphere. I draw from many sources, including past editions, but always convert to 3.5.

Currently, the campaign has taken a horror/scary/gothic spin, but its always D&D and its always fantasy. It draws heavily on Ravenloft-inspiration, but I would request that anyone playing in this campaign not read any materials about it.

My players have enterred a new world and are trying to explore and figure out their surroundings. It'd be a perfect time for you to be written in as a 3rd level character. My campaign is a long term campaign, all of the members are solid and dedicated to keeping it going until we die or RL makes it impossible. In it for the long haul. We could use a cleric or druid (possibly a bard), but could maybe work something else out.

Let me know if you're interested ASAP after reading the original ad below. You wouldnt have the same background and would be written in to the current plot, but you really havent missed much considering the scope of the campaign and this group.

-Matt

Hello all! Are you new to D&D or intermediate and not mind playing with a DM that is fairly new, but newly seasoned? Im your guy. I am running a home brewed campaign with, by all accounts from my current player group, a killer story. I want to meet once or twice a week in the afternoons or evenings. New? No problem. Will help you with character creation and even with picking out a class. See below for what I will need from you and a plot hook. Post here or email me at [email protected] if interested and you want to talk in real time. I check my email religously, so if you want to chat on AIM or whatever, email me there and let me know your screenname.

Books you might want:
The Core 3.5 Rulebooks
The free Pathfinder Alpha Ruleset (REQUIRED)

From each player I will require these things:
1) A completed character sheet with all relevant things explicitly listed
2) A biographial sketch fitting your characters bio into the world we inhabit
3) A figurine or portrait we can use to represent your character on the map

To help you with 2,

Each of you hails from an ancestral land specializing in the training of the class that you are a part of (I give you liberty here to describe your homeland however you like and your entire life history). At a young age, you were marked as "Adept" and whisked away to an academy where your life was hard, consisted of much training, and grooming for a purpose that not even your elders have explicity shared with you. One day, your training ends with an abrupt message, the world cannot wait anymore and the time of the ancient tradition is now. You are told to leave your academy, given starting supplies/armor/and weapons (1 masterwork weapon and 1500 gold to spend on armor and other supplies) and told to meet other representatives of the various academies in what is known as "The Unspeakable Summit." You are mistrustful of these other representatives (your party members), but you respect one another as representations of power in different forms, and as part of a tradition honored by all people. On your way to the summit, however, you are overtaken by a storm of sorts you have never seen before. A huge wall of cold, black, mist washed over you...and when it does...you think you hear a coarse laughter. Everything goes dark. You wake up in a very strange, very scary place. Here the story begins.

What we need is a story that ends in your being swallowed by black mist on the way to the Summit.

Thanks!

Interesting

Sounds interesting. I'm new to the whole DnD thing, but I've played some pretty simple RPGs in the past -- quite a few, actually.

In any case, I would like to join the RPG, but this all looks a little daunting. I don't have any materials of nor any experience with DnD manuals, so I'd appreciate any help you're willing to offer.

I'm afraid I can't join, but it's awesome to see that you're using Pathfinder.

Recruit

To all whom have inquired, I have enough room for everyone. My first group has been hit hard by start of the school year availability so I may have to replace some members. My second group has a lot of vacant spots. Please give me an IM client and your email address.
