Witchcraft rpg

They are the Gifted. Feared for their unique powers, they have been hounded for centuries, and forced to practice their Arts in secret.

The time for hiding is over.

A Time of Reckoning draws near. It marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new one -- or the destruction of all things. The choices the Gifted make will determine what the future will hold.

Alrighty, did try to start a Witchcraft game before, but it didn't work out all that great. Before I work too much on this, I want to try and find out player interest and whether they would want to play rule based or free-fore. Book is be eden studios and be downloaded for free from drivethrurpg.com. Please peeps, help me out in this one. Updates would be like once a week at best with times for three or possibly more weeks between updates especially in nov when I have a month long field op but will try and get blackberry so I'll have mobile internet usage.

Are there none....

...who'd be willing to play in a world of modern occult and help prevent otherworldly forces from taking control or our world.

Interested

Sounds like it could be interesting. I'd have to read up a bit more. I prefer freeform situations myself, but I'm open to most. Could you spell out your idea a little more?

Downloaded...

...and reading, now.

So far very interesting... Very, very, even.

Could be very fun... any details on a storyline, at all... basic theme, starting point, etc?

"What makes you think I am a Witch?"

I'm also quite interested, and I actually have a character concept that seems to be taking blossom in my mind.

I'll need to know a bit more about the setting we'll use to see if the character is viable, but I think it'll work quite well ^_^

Well, later!

Witches!?!

Oh oh! Me loves me some occult! I'm kind of bogged down trying to learn 4e right now, so free form would be a little easier, but if it's D20 based it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
Yeah let us know some more information and I think all of us could create a lovely little coven together for you

I could help...

With character creation Merideth ^_^

Umm... maybe not right now, but I'll send you some of the foundations for character creation, and then I can try to come up with the statistics for your character based on the concept you give me

There's also a generator of sorts...

Found a program called the Uniforge which supports character creation for Witchcraft and other Unisystem RPGs.

If you want to read up on it before you download, check out the UniForge website
For those who want to 'skip to the download'...

You can find the Macintosh version of UniForge here:
http://www.devermore.net/UniForge/UniForge.sit
The Windows version is here:
http://www.devermore.net/UniForge/UniForge.zip
Still helps to download and read the rules before using it to create a character (makes much more sense that way )but it does seem to keep nice track of things... Nice, tidy character sheet.

Like nice and tidy

I'll take a look at that when I get home today.
Hopefully I can have a medium, always wanted one. Maybe I can mold her off my rl kitty.

Have one?

Heck! If I've read these rules correctly, you can be one! The Bast "class" or character type is pretty much exactly that.

Now how cool would it be to play an alley cat character? *grins*

Ohhh Kitty!

Playing a cat would be a great deal of fun, they are such snotty little creatures. Hmm... definatly gonna have to pull up those rules as soon as I get home, I wanna leave work!!!

Dang...

Well, late arrive to the scene, I suppose.

I download the book too. The system looks interesting. Pretty similiar to WoD and the Serenity RPG as far as character creation goes.

Hey Eol: Remember that game where you played that spanish dude and the setting was in the 1800s ish. That's what this game reminds me of, except we're set in the present. The setting as presented in the book seems very neat! I really enjoyed reading the various stories.

I'm interested as well. It would depend on what you have in mind, Vesper, as far as posting frequency, how long you expect the game to take in real life, how long you expect the game to take, and the type of game (problem solving/ hack-n-slash/ character development/ etc). Also, hearing how dedicated you are to this game would be good too.

FOr example:

"This is a one-shot adventure that will involve the PCs hunting down and rooting out some evil that is threatening a certain place. It will require some investigating work and likely some combat against various mooks, before you actually face the BBEG.

"I expect this adventure will take six months to complete, at the rate of one post per week. I expect players to be committed to that and I will be looking to update every Sunday to move the game forward. If you miss two weeks, you're out. Sorry, but we want to keep the game moving.

"I already know I'll be busy during the month of December (exams and christmas and such) so we'll likely take a hiatus there. Otherwise, I hope to see this game though! "

That's just an example of what I'm looking for. I think it will also help us as players to know if we can realisticly commit to playing this game.

Regardless, I have a concept in mind as well. Likely a second sight or a second sight / divinely inspired character priest.

I also think have a "high bast" character in the party would be cool. It would be like a PC playing some persons familiar. Very neat idea!

Anyway... would love to hear more from you, Vesper, about the game. Looks like you have lots of interest!!

You remember that one, too?

Good ol' Alejandro... *smiles*... that was a fun character and game, too. You're right that this has the same kind of feel to it... and my brain's been churning it over since I saw the recruitment. And then you read through the rulebook and all those short stories and such... *shudders*...

Soooo,I've been playing with a character idea already...

You're not the only one

Janelle is already done for the most part... I just need to finish writing up her background.

Hehehe, I'm going to have some fun with the Weird Delusion drawback too...
