heheh

As Oscar bellowed his commands, the line immediately parts, with a few other Reds and Oranges looking back at you a bit awkwardly. They shrug it off and happily walk to the front of the line through the parted sea of Infrareds.

One Infrared doesn't move. He stands with his mp3 player earbuds in. Maybe he didn't hear you?

TRAITOR TO FRIEND COMPUTER!!!

Oscar watched gleefully as the line shortened considerably. However, one Infrared did not remove himself from the line as ordered. He was listening to something in his earplugs, perhaps he didn't hear what Oscar had ordered. Perhaps the Infrared was testing Oscar's patience. Perhaps he was showing Oscar disrespect. Perhaps he was a communist and too busy listening to hidden orders in the plugs. Perhaps he was a secret agent of Friend Computer who was too busy listening to hidden orders in the plugs involving Oscar's death for treason!

With the same stupid smile on his face, Oscar raised his lasterpistol and took aim at the Infrared. He was ready to fire. But if he was aiming at a secret agent in Friend Computer's employment, he were risking being charged with treason himself. But if it truly were a secret agent, he was already about to be killed. And if it were a communist, they'd expect him to kill the traitor, so if he wouldn't fire the laser he would be charged with treason. He already had witnesses that would say that he had given the Infrared a fair warning. Or at least a warning. Maybe it was an unfair warning. He was hesitating. Hesitation was a mark of weakness. Weakness would mean that he could be walked over.

"TRAITOR TO FRIEND COMPUTER!!!" he yelled in a high pitched voice as he pulled the trigger. Damn, he thought to himself, maybe I should have read that manual first. How do you arm this thing?

All Aboard!

Julianne watched as Oscar attempted to shoot the traitor in front of them, but the man with the ear buds stood where he was. She sighed and shook her head slightly, then without another moments hesitation she snapped open the holster for her phaser, drew, aimed and fired at Mr. Ear Bud. She caught him just above one of the treasonous ears. Blood flew out in a spray as his body fell to the ground.

Her baby blues looked down at the mess. Noting how the bright red blood stood out in such contrast to the dismally slate gray of the concrete, of how the white cord from the ear buds made a graceful line across his dark blue jumpsuit, except where it had perfectly formed bubbles of blood on its rubbery surface. After surveying her work she turned back to Oscar.

“What happened?”

But the train started to lurch as if to pull away from the station.

“Oh Rats! Come on, we gotta get to Sector 21.”

With one large step she walked over the body of Mr. Ear Bud and with another step she found herself in the train. Holding her arm out to stop the doors from closing she looked at her companions.

“Well, who is coming with? Oscar, if your phaser misfired you should head to Associative Supply Services immediately and get it repaired or replaced. I believe there is an A.S.S. post three blocks from here.”

She threw the members of the party a brilliant smile full of white teeth and sparkling eyes while she waited for them to decide if they were joining her.

...

Oscar stepped over the corpse and onto the train. His smile was literally stuck to his face the whole time. "Don't worry," he said, "I think I've got it fixed now."

He looked one last time at the body of the Infrared who had his brain just blasted out of his skull. He wondered how it would be like to just stand in line, waiting for a lift or whatever, minding his own business and then suddenly be dead. He also wondered what he had been listening to. But more than anything, he wondered who would clean this up.

ruh roh...

Oscar looked longingly at the body, lost in thought about death.

The sound of an autophaser charging snapped him out of it. He lifted his head to see the startling sight of a Yellow uniform with a gun aimed at his face.

Crap... your uniform... the cleanliness officer's insignia!
"Well mop boy, this mess aint gonna clean itself," came the silky voice of the stunningly beautiful yellow.

Not only was she a superior, but she was a beautification officer. One of your Direct supervisors.

"Get to work, chump, whatever you were doing can wait."

She motions to Julianna, "You! Get over here, I have some questions to ask about this... Red you seem to intent to hang around with."

Her voice is commanding. Better listen up?

(OOC: Decisions! Skari and Meri have a PM waiting)

Following Orders

“I certainly—“ Julianne stopped what was about to be a rip into Oscar’s performance when she saw the Yellow approach, for a second her mouth hung open widely. When the Yellow went about ordering Oscar what to do Julianne remembered that her mouth was open and quickly snapped it shut, immediately forcing it into a wide smile.

"You! Get over here, I have some questions to ask about this... Red you seem to intent to hang around with."
After a very small moment Julianne dropped her eyes to her feet and watched as they took her off the train and back onto the platform. She noted again the bright red splashes under her shoes as she approached the Yellow.

“Yes, certainly! I will be glad to discuss anything you would like, it would be my pleasure and my duty to Friend Computer!” she replied smartly, but in her chest her heart was pounding so loud she could hardly hear her own words.

Oscar

Oscar avoided eye-contact with the Yellow, but immediately after she had ordered him to get this cleaned he began looking for a suitable replacement for the job.

"Immediately, miss Yellow," he said, "I will get this cleaned." The bitch, he thought to himself, this beautiful mess is to be cleaned up? Not by me personally. No way.
"You there," he said as he spotted another cleaner among the Infrareds. "Get this mess cleaned up right now! If this mess is still here when I get back, I'm going to report you."

After ordering some no-face around, Oscar returned to the lift and waited for it to start moving.

Avoidance of Ambiguous Situations

It didn't seem like Oscar and Julianne were actually in trouble, since if that was the case they'd already be dead. In any case, if they were all detained, that would be inefficient, and that's treason. So, with a warm smile on her face, and keeping to herself, Jen silently boards the lift.

meh, not my problem

Stuart saw the altercation concerning Oscar, Julianne, and the Yellow. For the briefest of instants, he considered pointing out that the Yellow was standing in the way of their mission against the communists - but the desire to not be shot on the spot for insolence overshadowed that thought in a hurry.

An infared was dead, the cleanliness officers were on the situation, it did not concern Stuart and was not his problem. Therefore, he calmly walked past the developing scene to board the lift.

Once safely aboard (assuming that Stuart makes it), the tech officer opens his PDA and begins to tap on it.

lifting, lifting, all the live long day

Jen, Oscar and Stewart board the lift. The bell dings signaling the doors will be closing in 30 seconds.

Markus has vanished, and Simon remains standing in front of the lift, apparently lost in thought. His eyes are trained on the pants of one of the Orange officers who was standing in line for the lift but has apparently found better things to do in ordering around a few of the Infrareds.

The lift is designed sort of like a bus, with both standing and sitting room. There are 4 bench seats and room for 6 to stand comfortably. There are two Oranges and four Reds. One bench seat is full with the two Oranges, another has two Reds, and the remaining two each have one Red. They each seem to be doing something, either looking outdoors, doing some mental task, or plunking away on their computers.

One other Red boards after you guys do, pushing his way through as if in some sort of hurry. One final Red is running from the distance after the bell.

(OOC: 30 seconds to do anything before the lift leaves. Simon seems intently staring. Up to you guys how to handle it. PM or post away)

(OOC2: Edit - not Julianna, she's gone with the Yellow.

Made It!

Out of the crowd Julianne suddenly appears, running at full speed for the lift where the rest of her group is standing.

She grabs a hold of one of the hand bars just as it lurches out of the station.

“Whew…” the exclamation falls out of her breathless lips. She then brings her hand to her mouth as she yawns deeply.

“I really need to get more sleep if I’m gonna run like that.” She smiles as she pulls out her own pad and starts to type on it.

Before long though her eyes flash open wide for a moment and she raises her head, looking around. Anyone who might have caught her sudden movement she offers a wide reassuring smile to, then she eases herself down onto a seat, eases herself all the way down onto the seat, laying her head down on it with her left ear pressing against the vinyl.

“Woah… not really used to the lift, don’t ever have a need to take it… let me know when it is our stop.” And she closes her eyes, looking slightly pale and possibly motion sick.

bang

Stuart looked up from his PDA to see the others had pretty much all boarded the lift - save Simon, who was ignoring the door close warning, the lift, and the entire mission. The man seemed broken, as he simply stared at someone's pants.

Calmly, Stuart got to his feet, and stepped to the open door. "Simon," he called out pleasantly, "you are being inefficient in our mission against the communists. Inefficiency is treason against Friend Computer. The sentence is death."

With that, the handsome young man aimed his autolaser at his fellow troubleshooter and fired an instant before the lift doors closed.

Man down!

*bing bong* the chime sounded as the doors began to close. Julianna stands panting on the lift as the seats fill up and everyone goes to work on their PDAs. You can't help but feel a bit uneasy - this is first time you've been on public transportation without any Infrareds. Odd to know that everyone else was as smart (and medication-free) as you.

At this time you all think how profitable it would be if only you could build a mind-reading device.

All except two that is. One is nowhere to be found after darting off some time ago, apparently to hunt some cyber-commies. Simon on the other hand... was definitely interested in a pair of Orange pants.

The last thing in Simon's vision was the blast of an autolaser coming from the crack between closing doors...

Paging Simon-R-GRUG-2. Your assistance has become needed. Prepare for Clone 2 orientation.
The bus moves forward, making a few stops here and there as various others get on and off in a hurry, sometimes violently bumping into you. You each exchange a few glances as the intercom announces your arrival at subsector 21.

Unfortunately, you now have to figure out where to go. Fortunately due to Friend Computer's everlasting genius, the layout of subsectors doesn't really change that much.

Now, if you were a Lennon loving, Marxist Commie Traitor, which thankfully you're not, where would you hide?

Split up?

"Well then, shall we split up to cover more ground?" Jen suggests to the group as a whole.

"After all, isn't it rude to be wandering as a group, taking up more time than needed, when we could wander individually and take up less time?" She asks, tilting her head to the side.

...

Oscar watched with horror in his eyes and a smile on his face as Stuart shot Simon in the head. No hesitation. Stuart could become a problem.

With the lift on the way, Oscar found himself a comfortable seat next to another Red. In a short time, the lift stopped at subsector 21 where the team made their way out.

A suggestion about splitting up came from Jen. "Agreed," Oscar said, "we would cover much more ground. We should meet back here at a predetermined time. Say, an hour, perhaps?"
