Mounts

Dragonblood, Jethro has a donkwy with tack. The animal may only move as fast as a walking human, but it will keep Jethro from tiring ...

All character sheets show mounts (of som kind) except those of the barbarian and the rogue. The barbarian has settled his issue concerning horseflesh, so I just need to hear from Jozan about the rogue. The elven cleric has a mule with a pack saddle,(still awaiting a reply to PM'd questions on that one).

Still the "holiday season" yet, so I'm not gonna push/nudge anyone for a day or three ...

Player F. Y. I.

Links to SRD (source reference documents) for information and descriptions of characters, classes, gear, etc., have been posted (again) on the first page of this thread, in the second entry -- "Roster Info"

For those of you who don't have the books (or can't find them) the core rules and other info can be found at most of these links.

An example of the information available is pertinent to those who are buying food for their mounts and themselves:

Costs:
Trail rations (per day, 1 lb each) = 5 sp
Feed (std., per day, 10 lbs each) = 5 cp
Feed (grain, per day, 5 lbs each) = 2 sp

Last of Marpenoth/Beginning of Uktar marks mid-autumn, so ther will still be some forage (grass, shrubs, etc.) ava8lable for the mounts as you go ...

Any questions, I'm here for ya ...

heritage

The heritage of some of the characters of mixed blood is mentioned in the intro post during the introductions at the meeting, i.e.:

Almyrikon is son of the brother of Dhallagh Gann (human father)

Velina is daughter of the sister of the wife of Shallagh Gann (human mother)

Maybe the pattern was too vague, but the mention of those with any relation to the family of Shallagh Gann were mentioned by the human relation(s) ...

Well sure... but still...

I know my heritage. Out of game. But in my story, I don't know who my parents are. And he has minor ADD... he didn't care about that guy talking.

Update warning and assumptions

Okay peeps! I'm extremely happy with the character interaction so far but, to be honest, there hasn't been a lot of discussion (actually, none) as to when, how, which direction, how fast, etc.

This is not a major problem, but I thought I would mention it because I would like to post an update within the next couple of days. If there are no further posts by then, I will assume a few things:
Those players who have not PM'd me a (specific) ist of their character's purchases and amounts have decided not to purchase anything additional.

The group (or at least the majority) has agreed to the suggestion to sleep and leave in the morning.

You have a agreed to take the most direct route to the southern tip of the Kryptgarden Forest to begin your search for the keep. Thie would be the overland route, rather than by the road/highway to the north.

Those who are mounted have agreed to set a pace to accomodate those who are not mounted. Those who are not mounted have decided to hoof it, for their own reasons.
I will not assume that all of you know the Forgotten Realms setting and at least one is new to rules-based play, so if there ar any questions -- any at all -- please don't be afraid to ask myself or any ot the others who can help.

perhaps

Perhaps others, like me, are waiting for any indication of a plan from the heir who by nature of position should be in charge. Or at least appoint someone to lead for them. We need to get some semblence of cooperation going or this will get difficult for you as a DM very quickly with everyone doing their own thing( some resting, some leavign right away; some riding at fast pace, some keeping with walkers; some direct route, some highway route.

Fixed my earlier post to show my father as the elf.

My point 'zackly ...

Teamwork and cooperation is always preferable to enhance chances of survival in most cases.

A little hint about my gaming style:
I try not to kill characters. But stupidity often does it for me. If the player learns from it, they become a better player. If they don't, they don't.

One thing the group has going for them is that a couple pf players are trying to learn the game rules (and/or rules-based game play in general), so I intend to be lenient -- to an extent. I want them to learn the fun, but not be put off by having their character die because of their unfamiliarity with the game rules.

[[ edit/hint ]]
The nice thing about PbP is that back-posting is handy and viable alternative to leaving something unsaid or undone before it's too late ...
