THE SMURFS, THEY ARE COMMUNIST

Those jobs each Smurf had. There was Handy Smurf, and Painter Smurf, and Brainy Smurf. Each Smurf had his own specific job and was not allowed to try his hand at any other Smurf's assigned task. There was an episode where each Smurf tried to do another one's job, and failed. The moral of the story was apparently stick to what the society has chosen for you.

The food, the food was hoarded, it was stored away in those mushrooms the minute it was harvested and then equally distributed to all the Smurfs throughout the year.

their relationship to the arch-villian Gargamel. If you remember, the only thing that Gargamel wanted the Smurfs for was for his own profit. Gargamel's master plan was to catch the Smurfs, boil them, and turn them into gold.

Then they started saying that he wanted to eat the "poor blue creatures," but for the most part he wanted to turn them into gold. He didn't care about the Smurfs themselves, their culture, or their well-being. All he cared about was getting gold. His only interest in how to get rich, and nothing, nothing would get in his way.

Gargamel was a capitalist.

Thoughtful.

Although, I must say, I prefer the political references of the Wizard of Oz.

Think about it. The yellow brick road symbolizes gold. In the book, the slippers were originally Silver, symbolizing the author's favor for bimetallism over a gold standard.

And the midwest is where that whole debate was the worst, back in our westward expansion.

Hence, Kansas.

i agree to that also

I wonder though not sure if you guys might remember them but the fraggles from fraggle rock were bad also. Think about it they built their whole society on stealing stuff because they wanted it.

Heard that one before…

Here’s a link to the full version.

http://www.iamlost.com/features/smurfs/commies.shtml

The story goes that the letters Smurf stood for “Socialist Men Under Red Father”.

Personally, I think, “don’t try out for anything that you’re not already, because you’ll just fail” seems a pretty crappy message to teach children. But perhaps I would say that, being an evil capitalist and all.

That works

That's the site! I read it some time ago and don't remember where. Figured others may enjoy it. How did you find it anyways? I looked my way through too many emails trying to find it.
