Wooo Momma!

Good, been missing Eol around here.

Also Olan, you might notice you started a thread and "INSTA-POSTATHON!".

This supports the "More Webmaster, More Activity" theory.

It's true.

A lot of key active players seem to have vanished: some we are aware of their reasons (like Eol) and others we are just hoping the best for (YeOlde).

I'm not as active as I once was as well due to real life issues broadsiding me. I apologize for these uncharacteristic lulls.

lol

You know Olan, that spell might work better if every time I turned around in your game I wasn't being munched on by some ungodly undead thing hehe

aha!

Okay, Merideth, I hear you.

**makes mental note to have undead abominations find religion - preferably one that includes eating the living**

I will improve this aspect of the game.

unfortunately

My wife is on the missing list for both my games. Hard to find time with a hyperactive hyperhappy hyperchild. When you do you asleep in two minutes.

well

I haven't been too active lately myself. There are some RL issues that cause this, but I also find myself annoyed by the slow pace some games have. I only run one game, and play in one, so maybe I should get involved in another.

I think I would be more motivated if things moved faster. Maybe this low activity causes more low activity?

vicious cycle

It is, indeed, a vicious cycle. Games are slow, so we are slow, which makes the games slower...

games

I tried starting another game but all my players except one vanished before the first combat.

Maybe I will do an open call again but I am beginning to think that the 2e players are beginning to become like the dinosaurs - fun to look at because they're really old. I may have to learn 4e rules just to gain an audience.

And to think...

I was gonna pay to see a dinosaur this weekend, when I could just come here to see free ones.

... I'm still probably gonna go pay to see one this weekend though, can't miss a chance to see the real Sue when she comes to town!!

*Please insert cool dino emoticon here*

me

It depends on the type of game. Wyrmsting's game has been moving along quite quickly, but it doesn't involve the novellas that CWWLLO does for posts. It's not the edition, it's the style.

One's not better than the other, just different. Remember that escape game you ran where I played Gabriel the monk-sanjan? That game moved along quickly. Less focused on the overall campaign and party interaction and more focused on a single goal.

Simpler = faster. Is simpler always better? Not really, just different.

true

but if you're talking about activity, faster means more. And you're right, that doesn't make it better, but at least something happens.

Maybe I'll start a new freeform game or something... that doesn't involve the waiting for character generation etc.
