Yep... and that's the short list

If I listed all the nicknames that have ever "stuck to me" for any length of time, we'd be here for days!

Just realized that I forgot to answer the pet question, too:

Have a Chow/Sharpei mix named Ollie (he's a big doofus of a dog but nobody comes into my house/yard uninvited) and a Tuxedo-wearing cat named Domino.

Names

Of course, there's Rystefn, and The Original Palassassin, you all know that already. Also: Ryst, RK, Rysty, K, and K'ryll.

In the world of video games, I'm called Rev II (if you call me The Rev, she will annihilate you. Trust me).

In a certain circle of swordplay, I gained early on the unfortunate nickname of Bloody Bob, from my inability to ignore the flagrantly illegal centerline face shot (comes of being trained to a more universal style). Lots of bloodied lips and noses. It's become something of a badge of honor.

Also, there's some sort of urban legend floating around that I purr, so it's more than a few who call me cat, or some variation thereof.

Here's a question for you all

Inspired by something Lyskhala said....

What book or series of books made you really like reading? Or inspired you the most?

The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant were my first series that brought me into the world of reading. It was so different compared to the umpteen LOTR copies at the time.

Most inspirational for me would be V for Vendetta, The Time Traveller's Wife, The Lovely Bones, A Tapestry of Magics, and The Torturer Series by Gene Wolfe (Offical title escapes me).

Well, I answered this in another thread, but

HARRY POTTER turned me from the worst reader in my class to the best reader who could remember everything down to the last detail in my second grade class...
i didn't read LOTR until 4th grade
still, HP sort of triggered the english side of me into action, and since then my academic life flipped
and i decided that math wasn't that great after all and instead put all my effort into the GREAT ESSAY of english and expos...
now, i try to balance it out

Most inspirational:
Lord of the Rings- you got some of the greatest battles in history there
The Goose Girl and Enna Burning- i don't know if you guys have read these, but they're really good
Eragon- made me realize "if i want to make the guiness world book of records for youngest writer of a bestseller, then i have got to beat this guy" (i still have 6 years... we'll see if i make it or not)

Hey it got a techy nine-year-old me reading. I haven't read a recreational book since they ended the series.

Books

First: I do NOT purr. It's an urban legend. Ask Cass... whatever she says is a bald-faced lie.

Second, I've always been a reader. I literally cannot remember a time when I didn't read incessantly. Early influences: heavily Asimov and Tolkien. In my teenage years, more and more Heinlein. Of course Lovecraft. That should go without saying. Wells. Verne. Shelly. Byron. Things of that nature.

,,,,

I would share nickname, but I have forgotten them.

Harry Potter is what my kid used to like.

I used to read only SF untill I mistakenly ordered the LOTR when I was 16.

I did like some books on TC's wild magic.

And then there was ** shameless plug ** Wheel of Time !!!!!

Now I just read the stuff at RDI!
