ah

Sorry about that Tann. You can't really use Animal Empathy or anything like that because it's not really an animal. It's a humanoid with animal traits. If you want to communicate with it, try talking.

before this one makes the error of "assumption" ...

and before I attempt to use what I do not have, I need to check again, but I believe the post said "no weapons" as well as "no rules" ...

Thought so. Specifically: "no weapons allowed"

huh?

Guys, I'm not going to bend around the bush, or whatever the expression is: I'm very much disappointed with the number of posts that have come in lately. Some people have just not posted (Jozan... why?) (Valimar promised he would be back, but something must've come up, again).

And this week I don't have a post from Tann, who's busy but there's not even a post saying he can't make it. And none from Kaelyn, other than 'I don't know what to post'. What do you mean, you don't know? You're one of the players that I thought would be especially capable of coming up with a plan.

In general: I'm disappointed by the lack of imagination, or perhaps the interest that is shown by the players. And maybe it's my own fault for puting you guys in a situation where you can't rely on weapons and magic. But there is so much more to dnd than just hack and slash, and a bunch of experienced players like you should be able to think 'outside the box'. It's not even really outside the box, it's just a different set of rules than you're used to using.

I thought it would be fun to try something new (the bootskull scenario), but the last-minute posting and the lack of a proper (individual) battle-plan, and passive reactions (save for Dragon Mistress, and Wyrmsting's elaborate module) tells me something:

Perhaps this adventure is done? Maybe too many people have been switched for interest to remain? Maybe there are too many other games people are involved in and my game does not have the same quality as it used to (also my own fault)? Maybe online games aren't meant to last more than a year or two?
I'm seriously considering stopping the game, because this is very demotivating and not worth all my effort and time. Maybe I should start a new adventure, with a less elaborate or epic timespan...

I will leave room to comment. And I mean comment, not posts that say: go on with the game. I want to hear why and why not. Reasons and ideas. Judgement or compassion.
Speak your mind. I just did.

Still Ready to Go

I will put more in my post that might be of help to the others. I too was trying to figure out what to post, but I could have done better, except that Jeanne and I lost a great friend in an accident and we were distracted.

Come On guys, this could be fun and different. So what if we are the "Lame Ducks" oh, Mighty Ducks" Let's get to playing.

Consider this your pregame pep talk. GO Team Go! Fight Team Fight! Run Team Run!

ah

Thanks for the nice reply, Dragon Mistress, but I think I've made up my mind.

You see, I remember this same situation happening on page 60 of this Q/A.

We were all really enthusiastic to keep this going, but only 3 months later, we're at a halt again, and in the same situation.

I feel like I wanted too much out of this adventure. This whole thing should've been about the infestation of the Sylvari Empire and stopped there. Because that was the time when people knew what was going on, and it was ended with a plendid battle that could've been the end of the Adventure. But there is much more to this whole adventure then that. You don't know exactly what the goblins are up to, and their reasons. And that was to be the story of the second part of this game. But I feel like it's dragging it too far. Characters have changed players, and much detail has been forgotten. We've got a nice group of players here, but time is working against us, and with time also comes attention span, enthusiasm and involvement.

I think it's time to call it quits, and start something fresh. Let me think this over a bit more.

We find ourselves at a Crossroads

I have to apologize Al I had thought I posted this week to all my games only to realize today I had only posted to one.

With my school coming to an end next month, this last Module a recap of all the others and my attempts to secure employment and fully pass my EPA testing my mind is chaos.
But I will not lie to you my fellow Mod my interest in this game and 2 others have been pushed to the back of my mind.

When I rejoined your game 2 months ago I tried to set up a storyline between myself and Dragon Mistress that unfortunatly did not go anywhere, coupled with very little interaction between Malius and the others I just do not know what to post about anymore.

If you continue the game I will still continue to play Malius but I make no promises on being able to post every week but I will try.

yes

Thanks for the honesty, Tann. It's appreciated.

And where are my manners: Dragon Mistress and Brianna, I'm sorry for your Loss. Losing a good friend is always bitter. I hope you'll remember your friend in your best moments of friendship.

Since we're all speaking out.

First and foremost, I've read and reread the Bootskull scenario a half dozen times, and because it ends in such a fashion where we're told we're playing the game but the game hasn't actually started, and there's nothing strictly to 'react to'. (Ie I don't even know who has the skull, was a whistle blown to begin or what...) I was waiting to see if someone would post something that I could react to..

This falls on my shoulder's and noone elses, particularly due to the fact that this past couple weeks has been very Trying of my time. On top of regular working 40-50 hours a week at my normal job, I've just taken on the planning and CAtering of a 200-250ppl wedding in my free time, And, have restarted the works on opening a third LARP in the area. As such, and Brianna and DM can testify, I've been kept from doing alot of posting, I must have told them I'd update for them every day now for a week... (To which I say again Sunday!..I hope).

I've not lost interest in the game, far from it the Bootskull Scenario really piqued my interest as a new and fun way to go about things. Real life it seems has hit the majority of your players with alot on their plate all at once these past couple weeks.

I can understand your frustration as a DM who lost Nomachron due to similar reasons after 3 great years. AS such I also understand if you want to restart or take it in a new direction, but if you can bare with me/us I hope we can keep this going as like I've said before, it's my Saturday morning routine to come read your updates and start my day with a brain buzz of creativity. But since we havn't been posting that leavesl ittle for you to update to and well, I've thrown a wrench in my own well oiled routine machine lol. But yeah, long story short, please bare with us, but if not I understand.

Brianna & Geim

I am still very interested in the game, my last week ahas been fraught with the losst of a dear frien and memoerial tribute last week and a funeral today necessitating several long trips to get to them.

Anyway we are back this afternoon and this is what I have to say about what is going on and what is not. LOda and Valimar haven't posted in a long time, Alyssia is gone the group is down to only a few posting players that makes it a bit harder on us, but it is nothing we can't handle WE have some very good players left in the group.

Geim had grown on me--and not like a boil, or a pimple.--but as an interesting complex "little" man. Don't tell him I said Little. Certainly after all we have been through to get this far I certainly don't want it to end like this. I do have to agree with Kaelyn that your post brought us to a point where it wasn't so much our move but the orcs move first that we needed to respond to. I sort of felt adrift without much to say or do but give my warning about the nature of the game.

By the way if you start up you other game I would like to be considered for it.

I think this is sort of a rough patch we need to work through and find out why Jozan1 hasn't posted in forever and is valimar will be back eventually. I am good to go.
