Brianna

"Brianna looks up at Lorae. "Highnar and I could use some of your healing Lorae. We were both hit a couple of times. It is not too bad but it would be better with it if the fighting continues."

"C'mon Highnar let me get you boosted up on your horse." Lorae can take care of us both then."

Are we leaving ?

After the arrival of the newcomers who it seemed where also in pursuit of the Orc's and Goblinsthe group gathered at the edge of the field where the fighting took place and where making small talk as they prepared to leave the area. Brianna once again asked Cerric to use his skills to scan the field because she believed there where items of magic still on the field left by those they have slain. If Cerric does cast the needed spell to sweep the field looking for magic Xour will be ready to ride out and retrieve it for the party, mostly.

Other than that he just listens to all the talk of a rest and eating and drinking and who
should supply the First round of drinks, having been with these adventures long enough he knows this is all in good fun. He didn't think they would be heading anywhere that would be a place to rest, eat, and drink at least not right away. He believed that they where headed to now rendezvous with the main body of this Orc's army in an effort to halt it's advance and save the citizens of the city from Orc invaders.

So as he sat and watched the field for any sign of left behind magical items he also awaits the order to pull out and hurry to their next killing fields.

Spoils

When Lorae mentions searching for magic items she remembers the weapons she took from the leader. She couldn’t identify magic items but she was pretty sure an orc leader such as that one surely had something on him magical. She had taken anything he had on him that looked like it might be worth taking; her profession did give her a knack for spotting valuable items.

(OOC: I never learned what he got off the Leader, be it Gold, jewelry, weapons, etc. Can you please post to what she found.)

While the others tend to searching the battle area for magic, she would look over what she had found and if Cerric answers that he can determine if an item is magic then she will ask him to check the stuff she had found. Anything not useable by her, she will offer them up for use to the others. If no one has a need for them, she will keep them and see about selling them later.

Lorae

Lorae calls on the Light to heal Brianna, and then does the same for Highnar.

As Cerric pinpoints magical items she goes out and gathers up whatever she can find. She returns with a sack of stuff including a few weapons. "I suggest that we wait to check these things out after we help out with the cleanup."

"Sir, she turns to the Rider, I suggest that after things have settled, the people of the area come here and gather all the common weapons and things, no need to leave them for the enemy to retake."

She turns to Logan. "Logan, What do you want the goblin for?"

Time to leave the female rider is annoying me LOL

"The enemies attack was thwarted," speaks the woman, looking about her. "The warning we got enabled us to set up our defenses. Then somehow the Orc's and Goblins' attack went to Hell in a Hand basket. It seems that the war bands on the left side were under manned. The battle was soon over and we were able to catch a major part of the army and surround them. After that it was an every tightening circle of death until the vast majority was dead. Now we are just running down the stragglers."

"That is because part of the left flank is here," Lorae says pointing about the glade. "We drew them off hoping to lessen the number of attackers."

The woman looks at Lorae and the others now joining the tall female and the Dwarf.

The Rider looks about as it counting, that back to Lorae. "There is over 3 score I can count."

"It was closer to 4 score, but some are wrapped in vegetation."

The Rider look to the 7 comrades, she looks around as if searching for others. "Certainly this is not all of your company”

Highnar had stayed quiet till this point happy to let the others once again do the talking. But again the riders tone of voice irked him.

“Again lass canna ya not see they be only 7 of us standing here. Them’s Goblins be dead and you’re left flank be secure dueing to us. Ya should be thanking us instead of questioning what we be saying.”

Before Highnar could continue Brianna beat him to it as the dwarf took a deep breath.

"Certainly it is all of us, which includes three fine swords wielders, a mighty axe man, two fine bowmen, our magic using priest and also we had the help of several war horses, two bears, two celestial hounds and a currently missing dragonette. That is our company. Also we had a good plan too. That made all the difference. Well, if you point us in the right directions we shall make our way to the village that has been rescued.”

Turning to Highnar Brianna spoke next to him.

"All in all a fine battle, and now I wouldn't be mind finding a tavern for a drink and a meal. This fighting gives me a powerful urge to eat and drink. Eh! Hghnar, my friend. What say you to my paying for the first round of drinks?"

“Ah lass I never be turning down a drink from a friend and fine looking lass as you be, lead on”

The dwarf turned to find the cantankerous horse which was his ride was once again near him. With a clear grimace he turned once again to Brianna a frown upon his face.
“Ah lass would ya be helping me back upon this hell beasts back?”

"C'mon Highnar let me get you boosted up on your horse. Lorae can take care of us both then."
Brianna helping Highnar to sit once again in the saddle then turned look at Lorae.

"Highnar and I could use some of your healing Lorae. We were both hit a couple of times. It is not too bad but it would be better with it if the fighting continues."

With that declared Lorea did indeed heal them and with all the new magical items gathered once again they would need a ‘pow wow’ to sort these and the other left over items out and either claim them or sell them as the case might be if no one wanted any of the rest.

Diamonds in the Coal

Cerric mumbles gentle sounds that roll into the sky, echoing louder than their original utterance. It was as though the echo sought to overturn the reality of its submissive purpose... it wished to be the truth, and not the reminder. The plea for his detection of magical objects was a simple request... After using his magics to sharpen his senses to the irregular energy of the magically attuned, things that were of unique value sparkled amongst the dead like diamonds in the coal.

The mystic theurge merely pointed at a corpse here, or a fallen item there. This was by far one of the least burdensome jobs he had ever done. It was like supervising the labor of hulks, he was the whip, and they the oxen... though it was an odd thought to have about those he had come to admire.

Flame & Brianna

A tiny figure of a dragon suddenly appears in the air and lites on Brianna's shoulder.

"I helped, I helped," it called out in its hight tenor voice, "I'm Flame the Brilliant, Flame the Breather of Fire, Goblin Bane and Orc Bane."

Flame settled lightly and wrapped his long red tail about Brianna's neck.

"Well, I am glady you helped." replies Brianna we really needed that help. SHe did not lugh there was no reason to hurt Flame's feelings beside he did breath fire and could prbably keep serveal goblins and such distracted if not singed a bit. SHeall we accompany you back he help if we can. Brianna asks the woman shos still has not offered her name. IF not we will go by ourselves.

"Food," croons Flame in Briann's ear. "I am hungry. I wokrked hard. I did good."

Brinna dips into her pouch for a meat and cheese roll and breaks off a bit from her breakfast. I am sure you are hungry. I am hungry too. Brianna brings out the rest of the roll and bits off a bit.

Drinks for us all

The loot on the field is collected as Xour sits atop his horse and waits for their next move. However it seems their next move won't be the one he thought for it seems by diverting this section of the Orc army and striking them down here they had allowed the other armies to encircle the rest of the Hoard and finish them off.
Not one to usually take offense when someone shows doubt at his or his parties abilities, but when the Riders who had shown up when their battle was already over started to cast doubt that the 7 of them had actually finished off 4 score or more of the now dead orc and goblins littering the field he was about to speak his mind when Highnar took care of that with his usual Dwarven ettiquite. Xour can only laugh as his friend tells the head rider offAgain lass canna ya not see they be only 7 of us standing here. Them’s Goblins be dead and you’re left flank be secure dueing to us. Ya should be thanking us instead of questioning what we be saying.” Lucky for the rider Brianna took over as Highnar stoped to take a breath.

Then the conversation turned to a better subject one of eating and drinking and that suited Xour just fine.He also had worked up a good need for food and drink. With Highnar finally on his horse and the party healed, all the items on the field gathered Xour rides his horse up to where Highnar and Brianna are This Ranger has also worked up a great hunger and thirst and would be more'en happy to throw'en some coin to quence our mighty thirst's just lead us to the nearest watering hole.

Game Post

The woman looks to Highnar, "For give me if I sounded incredulous, I saw your numbers and the dead, I just was astounding on realizing that 7 of you here helped us be victorious in the Battle of EvenSong, without even being in the main battle."

"When we return to Asbenford, You must tell the tale of your part in this battle, it will be one for the bards to sing."

Lorae returns from gathering the magical pieces that Cerric had pointed out.

"Your people," she says to the woman, "are free to scavenge whatever is left on the field. We have taken what we want."

"Thank you, sit will in somepart help EvenSong rebuild a few houses that were lost in fire."

With that the group turns and rides out of the forest and then west to the road to Asbenford. It is late at night as they ride in, The rider break off from them, except for their female officer, She lead them straight to the White Hart Inn where Brianna and Lorae had been before. When they ride there is a half elf coming out as they dismount.

He steps off the porch, "I will take you horses and see to them."

When he sees the white and black stallions he pauses, "I will have to move horses, but they will get stalls," he says waking up to Brianna. "I hope the Black has settled your mare, so there is no more trouble with him."

To Town.

After having words with both Highnar and Brianna the Horse woman who seemed to be the leader of the rest of the party that had followed her onto the field speaks back to their group. "For give me if I sounded incredulous, I saw your numbers and the dead, I just was astounding on realizing that 7 of you here helped us be victorious in the Battle of EvenSong, without even being in the main battle."

"When we return to Asbenford, You must tell the tale of your part in this battle, it will be one for the bards to sing."

“As usual” the always egotistical Xour thinks to himself, but finally all here seemed complete and they headed out and towards the town of Asbenford. They arrived there late at night. As the other female riders break off from them the female officer leads the group right to the White Hart Inn. As they dismount a halfelf approaches Brianna "I will take you horses and see to them." When he sees the white and black stallions he pauses,
"I will have to move horses, but they will get stalls," he says waking up to Brianna. "I hope the Black has settled your mare, so there is no more trouble with him."
Xour is not quite sure what that is all about, but all he really cares about right now would be to satisfy his hunger and thirst. He will hand his horse “Mottley” over to be stabled and then waits for the rest to join him.

Vatta...

Vatta follows along with the others as they leave the battlefield and head back to town. She thought about how fortunate she was to have fallen in with a group so skilled in battle. They had killed or routed the enemy from the field with hardly a scratch among them. In her past this kind of luck was rare and unusual.

Arriving in Asbenford she gratefully slips from her saddle in front of the White Hart Inn. She is hesitant to hand over the reins to this half-elf, not knowing if he works here or is just trying to steal their horses. Seeing if any others hand over their mounts then she will reluctantly do the same. As she does so she flashes a guild sign with her hand to the man, “Take good care of them,” she tells him as she turns to remove her pack and bags from the saddle to carry them inside. She knows that if the man is associated with the thieving guild he will recognize the secret sign and will know that a guild member is among this group and therefore the mounts should receive proper care and looking after.

She will head into the Inn where she will want to get a room, put her things there, and then get something to eat. After eating she will look forward to a good nights rest. After they day they had she knows they all need it badly.

Back at the Ashbenford Inn

Brianna looks over to the stableman. "Sunrae is not in season I expect no troubles further troubles. But...if he causes you any problems with him come get me any time at all. I mean that. I'll cut off what he holds so dear." Brianna respoinds to the man's question.

Turning to the others. :Shadowbane earned himself a bad reputation last time I ws here. I think I will make sure he is taken care of so the man will not have problems with him again. Broke down two stalls last time. I've got a trick to make sure he cannot smell a mare in season. See you in a bit. Oh by the way fo ahead Order dinner lots of it. I am starved. YOu don't want me wasting away to nothing." Briannna laughs lightly at her owh joke. "Highnar don't eat everything before I get there. Guess I best hurry, huh. Flame your with me do now." Brianna moves off with her stallion and mare towards the stable.

In about 15 minutes she walks back into the inn with her saddlebags over her shoulder. Looking about she spots the others seated somwhere in the best table in the common room a big round one fairly near the fireplace. She stride over and joins them. Motioning for a tankard of ale she listens to what is going on.

Flame rides on Brianna shoulder her twin long swords are strapped criss cross on her back.his tail wrapped around her neck sitting upright and he sharp eyes taking in the sights. Once Brianna is serve and seems to sliter almost like a snake down her arm to the hand holding the tankard. "Yum,,for me?" his silibant voice asks

"No, for me" Brianna responds. then she turns her attention to the conversation in earnest.

More Beer here!!

As Highnar sat quietly, a tankard of beer in front of him thanks to Xour, for the first time since joining this group the Dwarf felt relaxed.
Clear to him it was that here among these adventures he was well liked and he too was slowly starting to consider them all family. Where next their travels would lead them he cared not for now the company of these fellow adventurers was enough. His beer to his mouth the tankard now empty he turned to Xour with a grin.

“Ahh Lad it be seeing as I am empty how’s about I be bi’yun the next round...”

His arm raised to call forward the waitress he knew now was the time for merriment, there would be enough time tomorrow to sort out the magic’s that had been found, both new and old.

Brianna

"Brianna lifts her mug and gets it down to half full. and then calls out to the serving girl. Bring me a another I don't want to be behind any. And bring me a bill of fare. Though I think I could deat anything right now."

"Well we are back to nearly where we started out from. Lorae. Back to whre............" Brianna;s voice trailes off and she rises suddenlyand walks to a window to look out. Staring into the darkest. Back to where Jerred lost his life her best friend and companion from the Forbidden Isles. His deather had hit her hard. She had cremated his body it was what he had wanted being so far from hom the thought his essence had a chance to get back if he was smoke in the wind. She had done it herself. gathers the wood, laid the prye and place him upon it. She doused him with oil to speed the flames and then set the torch to his remains.

The memory still hurt but is had lessened some from those first days and weeks that followed. Ansd know they were back with a new group of fine comrades. SOftly tothe night she whispered "I still miss you my friend, but it hurts less now. Be at peace with you God."

Brianna returns to the table and sits down again. Flame scuttles back form the tankard as Brianna has to rescue her tankard, that is not quite hwlf full anymore.

"You left it," the little dragonette wqueaks out hidding behind the pitcher on the table. just his head picking on one side of hisand his tail on the other side as well.

"You;re right I left it you can finish it off."

Turning to the others gather at the table she lifts the fresh tankard from the table. We worked together well today and sent many of that evil trash to oblivion where it belongs.

Stnding up and saluting each of them Brianna toeasts them all "Here is to us." She tips out a small portion on the gound "And this is for the Great Goddess." She takes a long swig and sits down in good company.

Back Again Without a Scratch.

Perhaps Cerric had Oghma to thank for his safe returned, completely unharmed, or perhaps he ought to give thanks to the skillful fighters in which he had joined. Though, in his heart, there was a twinkle left aside for Vatta, who had promised to protect him in the battle. Her dextrous use of that bow was a undeniable force behind his safe return. Now that he had returned to town however, he would once again put on the facade of being no more than a meager priest of knowledge. Addressing the raven, Char, who was resting placidly on his shoulder, he said. "It is time for you to go out of sight my friend. I do not want the townsfolk thinking of me as a mage. They tend to distrust what they do not fathom." His draconic was fluid and flowing, the soft hissing s sound rumbling low into his tongue.

Char's reply was, uncannily as fluent, if not moreso than his master's "Very well, I shall be black against black sky, the shadow in the rafters, far enough from their suspicions, but close to you, ripe for beckoning."

Cerric was always pleased with his familiar. He had heard many tales from other wizards that their companions were not so obedient.

When the mystic theurge dismounted, and allowed the stable boy to tend to his extraordinary horse, he followed the group into the local tavern, and sat down at a table beside them, smiling when they questioned his motives so as not to seem contemptuous. Truth be told, he wasn't fond of drunken gluttony. He would prefer a quiet evening in his room studying books. He did have a question for them however, one that he felt was a necessary one. "So, my companions... Not to sound obtuse, but how exactly are we planning to split the spoils of our victory?"
