Destiny World

That God-forsaken night still haunts my dreams. It was a cold winter night and my mother was rocking me to sleep when there was a knock on the door. My father answered the door, a few words were exchanged. Blood began to drip onto the floor, and then my father just fell to his knees. The floor began to be covered with his blood.
After seeing this, my mother had me and my brother hide in a nearby closet. We did as we were told, but not long after, we heard a ruckus. My brother slowly opened the closet door to see that our mother had been murdered by the visitors. There they stood, where one of them was bleeding from his right eye. They grabbed us up and tossed us into separate wagons.
I could not see a thing but heard my brother screaming for them to let him go. After awhile there was not a sound. I started to worry. I was surrounded by darkness, silence and for the first time I knew what it felt like to be……………..alone.
Fifteen years have passed since that night and yet I still can not remember much of anything from my past. I decided to do as my father did and join the Storm Crusaders, which were commanded by Lord Jaden. Before him there was a king by a name which I never had the chance to know. Word is that he became corrupt and the council had him executed.
One of the officers, Tobias, entered and said, “Xander, what the hell are you doing?” he was furious; “Did you not receive your orders?” I was very confused and shook my head no. “Well the Lordship himself has ordered that you and your bodyguard, Felen, go to Strong’s Deep and investigate a recent attack on one of our outpost,” he announced.
“It shall be done, sir,” I responded.
“You’re running on thin ice these days, Xander, now I would hate to see someone as young as you with so much potential be kicked out of this army,” he said as he exited the room. Tobias has looked after me as if I was his own brother and there is no way I could let him down now.
“Felen, wake up you lazy bum……we have orders to go to Strong’s Deep and investigate an attack on one of our outpost,” I said to him as I shook him to get up.
“Awesome, our first real mission,” he was ecstatic.
“Yeah it is and lets make it where it will not be our last,” I mentioned. We headed down to the stables where our horses and supplies were being prepared. When we were given the “O.K” to leave we set out towards Strong’s Deep. The scene when we arrived at the outpost was most disturbing. Huts were on fire and there were bodies on the ground everywhere.
“This was not just some attack,” I stated, “This was a slaughtering.”
“I think I’m going to be sick, sir,” Felen said.
“Stay strong, all we have to do is see if the group that did this is still around,” I said trying to comfort him.
“Oh, it was no group,” a voice from afar said.
“Who’s there?” I yelled, “Come out now.” A shadow figure slowly came into visibility riding a horse. When the shadow being was able to be fully seen, we saw him wearing a cloak that prevented us from seeing his face.
“Who are you?” Felen asked.
“I am the one responsible for what u see around you,” he responded. He removed the hood of the cloak, revealing his face.
