Dragon Age Origins!

I'm not a huge gamer, but I've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Dragon Age Origins (the new rpg from Bioware). All the teasers and reviews have made it sound a truly phenomenal game: where glitzy graphics have been discarded for amazing storytelling and character interaction.

Does anyone own a copy yet? Does it live up to the hype?

Heh

I saw Val playing it yesterday, he said it had seemed good to him. I don't think he was that deep into it yet, but I'm keeping an eye on it as a possible acquisition for later.

Well started playing it yesterday and...wow.

It's similar to Mass Effect, but they've up-ed the character interaction and story a notch.

hmm

I'm also considering to buy it for PC, but it is too expensive so I think I'll wait and ask for it in a Christmas present.

Not if you go

To amazon.com they have new copies under $50 and used copies for under $40. If I lose my bet this weekend thats where I will get the copy to give to my friend as we bet a copy of the game to the winner of the Eagles-Cowboys matchup.

Steam

Steam also has it available for $49.99, but that's not a hard copy. A copy here in Iceland costs apperantly $51.59 (about 6,500 ISK). Come to think of it, that's not as much more expansive than Steam as I thought it would be.

Eh.

I picked up a copy for the PC, which is really the only thing worth playing it on if you care more for story and content. The real problem of that is that my computer isnt' quite up to par with running such a beautiful game. But my friend Adam's computer is... and I must say...

I ROCOMMEND DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS WITHOUT HESITATION TO ANYONE WHO LOVES RPGs IT IS A MAGNIFICENT WORK OF ART!!! BIOWARE YOU'VE MADE ME PROUD ONCE MORE!

DA:O

I completely agree! I didn't particularly like Mass Effect the first time I tried it (I'm giving it a go again), but Dragon Age has me completely hooked! The interaction between characters, the story, the character building, it's amazing!

I just wish they'd have a Pen and Paper version

So apparently Green Ronin's coming out with a Dragon Age tabletop RPG. Excitement!
