Avatars, they can be of HUGE impact

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, your attention please.

Most of you have chosen an avatar to suit your screen-name or personality, or maybe just picked one that was really awesome. Good!

Due to a staff error we now have some avatars that do not meet the requirements concerning size. They are HUGE.

~Huge is better, right?~
No, it's not. An avatar that is bigger than the standard ones throws the forum off balance. The user-data area becomes big, and the text area becomes small, making it all harder to read, more difficult to navigate and just not as completely stylish as everything is at the moment.

So, this is a call to - please - do not use the large avatars. You can go ahead and stare at them all you want, but don't pick them as your default. We're working on deleting them, but as long as they are there, we kindly ask to avoid them. They are evil, and spread diseases...

and they make you go blind...

and lots of other bad stuff.

Thanks,

Almerin

eh?

So you want us to stare at them as much as we want, but they make us go blind (assumingly by looking at them)? You, my friend, are an evil, evil man who enjoys nothing more than to see all of us go blind because of your so called "error".

In fact, I think I will not stare at the huge avatars. I think I will in fact avoid them like the plague! I laugh at your evil schemes and foil your wicked plans!

Skari! Shhh!!

Aw, you're on to me... and I tried to lure you all in. But it's better to follow Skari's example and not go blind.

LOL

I love the chocolately goodness of this thread.

Out of curiosity... can't we perhaps just resize the giant avatars as opposed to deleting them? Then we can ogle and set as default... Not saying I'm givin' up my groovy green and pink hat, though.

Doable

Yep, should be doable.

In any case, don't use them until they're small, or gone (at which point using them would be rather difficult).

In that cast

If someone somehow uses an avatar when they're gone, I think we should probably just ban them. Or burn them, as they're clearly a witch.

*Grabs a Duck*

Don't be so hasty Grugg, we have to be SURE of their witchiness before we take any drastic measures.

hmm

If I remember correctly, a witch cannot sink since the purity of the water rejects them. So if we just throw the suspected witches into a lake with a cannon strapped to them, we should be able to prove who is a witch and who is not.

Reh

Now Im thinking Skari's a witch putting us on a false lead. I think we need to burn Skari.

lol

"*Grabs a duck*"

Hardly anyone quotes that part--kudos, Meri!

Any guidelines on proposing avatars--content, size and such? Just in case I might want to try something else on?

ok, guidelines

It's quite simple:
1 ) Take an avatar of normal size.
2 ) Take the image you'd like to suggest and paste it over the old one.
3 ) Scale and crop until it fits as good as it comes.
4 ) Now you have a new avatar ready for submission.

eh

I dislike the proposal of me being burned as a witch.

Just wanted it out in the open.
