We will be writing a full fledged adventure (beginning to end, initial incident, rising action, plot twists, climax, BBEG fight, resolution, opening for a new adventure) for this right?
Assuming the proposal is accepted yes. Though you will not be required to do maps or artwork (though if you have suggestions or requests once the actual adventure is being written they will certainly be taken into account.)

If you want samples, I could send you one over the next couple of days probably, just to get a feel, along with the proposal.
Samples are good.

And assuming we're poor, and don't have the funds to buy your Campaign setting, do you think there's enough information on the site to be able to write these adventures?
I'm not sure there will be. However, I will be adding the world map to the website in the next week or so. That should help. You should also look on MY forum (labeled as the Tavern off of the home page)for some additional info. Any specific questions I can answer there (as it is broken down into continents and such). Really, there is simply too much information in the Campaign Setting book to simply post somewhere, so the more you narrow it down, the more likely I'll be able to provide you with useful information outside of the book. Also, as I've said, you can expect that I will also be taking an active part in the adventure creation. My part will be customizing it to my world, providing input and feedback to writers as well as altering the adventure as I see fit and any other plot ideas or other contributions I may make over the development process.

Another option is to write an adventure that would work for any setting, keeping in mind the big qualities of the world such as the fact that the sun is permanently eclipsed, and go back through and tinker with the elements that such as people and places to place the setting in my world. Sort of like what some game masters do to adapt pre-written adventures for their own campaigns, just more thorough.

How's that?

So.....

"Just a sample and an adventure proposal (setting, backstory, general plot outline, etc.)"

You want a sample adventure AND an adventure proposal?

Ideally

Yes. You could have the greatest of adventure concepts, but not have the ability to write it in a way that is conducive to publishing, or vice versa. So ideally I would like to see both. However, the 2-page adventure proposal is all that I am requiring for a writing submission.

If you do submit a writing sample along with the proposal, please make it no longer than 2 pages in itself.

The proposal should have (at least) the following elements:

1) Starting Location
2) Backstory
3) Plot Summary
4) Introduction (which may fulfill the writing sample request)
5) Adventure Hook
6) Any extra information that will be important to the adventure concept.

I hope this clarifies a bit what I'm looking for.

So...

As far as I know I have 1, maybe 2 takers on the adventure writing possibility, and no interested artists. If anyone else wants to submit something please do so. I'm more than willing to answer any questions or clarify anything I need to.

Thanks,
Steelight

Good News!

Well, I officially sent my Realms of Twilight Campaign Setting off to the printers on Tuesday. My first printing run is only 50 books, so we'll see how it sells. It's a setting designed for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game (compatible with D&D 3.5E). I plan to number and sign the entirety of the first printing but nothing after that (excpet maybe on special request). So if anyone want a copy please let me know. About half of them are already reserved. The cost is $40 + S&H and I should have the books in hand on July 30th.

Thank you all for your input and encouragement.

I AM still looking for writers and artists interested in helping me put together an adventure series (see previous posts in this thread). So PM me or post if you are interested. I'm also looking for suggestions on what my first supplement book should be should my campaign setting sell well enough to justify it. So, if you have any suggestions, again let me know.

Thanks again.

So it is.

I've been dreaming about having my own game book for about the last decade. About 2 years ago I finally started pulling everything I had written together into a book format. Now I'm only 4 weeks away from having the book in my hands. Exciting is a bit of an understatement I think. But even if I don't manage to sell enough to break even on the project (I have to sell about 210 copies) I still will be able to say that I did it, and have the book in my hand with my name on the cover.

It really is cool. It will be even cooler when I actually have the books.

And thanks for the congrats Eol.

Well, this is splendid news! I'm enjoying myself in your game so far, so hopefully your book will also be a wonderful success.

Thanks.

I hope it does well too.

Anyone at the Inn interested in a copy? $40 + S&H (I'll ship internationally, but the S&H will be a lot more... unfortunately).

Asking a Favor

Hey, for any of you that are on facebook, I'm trying to get a facebook page going for my campaign setting. Please, if you are willing, "Like" the page (just do a search for Realms of Twilight). As always I'm more than willing to answer questions about the setting, my company, upcoming products, etc. I'm just hoping to get a few discussions and comments and such going on the facebook page... and currently I'm not having much luck.

Thanks a lot for everyone's support!

Well

For any of you who have "liked" my facebook page I thank you. But there is no discussion! I know we usually do all of our discussions and such here... I'm just trying to engage everyone who has liked the page so far, and I am honestly at a loss as to how to go about doing it.

Any suggestions? (I can't afford a give away right now, especially since I don't get the books until July 30th).

YES!

But not right away. I have some issues to resolve with the service I am using for digital downloads. I'm guessing it will probably be a few weeks to a month after the print version comes out. Estimated price will likely be approximately $19.95 (half the cost of the hardcover book). But that is currently just an estimate, not a final price.

Thanks for your interest.

The Call is still open

I'm still looking for writers and artists to help me create a subscription-based, quarterly adventure series (complete with a comic at the end if I can find one that works...). I'm also still looking for fans for my Realms of Twilight page on facebook and people to participate in the discussion about Pathfinder I have there.

Let me know if there are any questions or anything.

Another thing!

I have one more thing I'm interested in. Since I'm looking into a subscription based quarterly adventure series, I need a comic (or a few) to print at the end of each edition. Sort of like the short strips in the older dungeon or dragon magazines. Any one interested? This is, of course, assuming I can get the adventure project off the ground.
