On Guard................

Minor note, Ayreon is the flyer not Lothor.

We need to find the way out and as said Cor says be watchful.
This smells like a trap. These giants were punished for failing to guard the mountain, my guess, and it is an example to others of the cost of failure. But WHO is this directed at and were are they?

If I were to make a guess, I'd say the evil that set Alasdair is acting quickly because of the failure to retrieve the sword. It knows we have it and is stepping up the watch for us.

We have to be very on guard.

Tonight.........

I'll get a post up tonight so Ulthok can express this in character. We do need to get to a town, but it won't be easy.

I believe we have to cross a bridge yet too, so let's think of a good way to do that. If we can estimate time needed to get out of the cave, to and across the bridge and then into cover we might be able to use the non detect and invisibility spells. Once off the mountain we can head for the town.

Ideas???????/

Stupid Question

Ok the spell 'Nap' which allows mages to rememorize thier spells in 4 hours rather then 8. We have used this spell in the game before however I can't find it. :-/
Sooo can anyone tell me more about it and where to seek it.

Also I will be posting tonight.

No idea

I've never heard of the 'Nap' spell.

Maybe you got it from a Dragon article or one of the many additional supplements?

If I may

I found it, in the Tome of Magic (AD&D 2nd Edition):

Priest (2nd lv)

Nap (Alteration)
Sphere: Time
Range: Touch
Components: V, S, M
Duration: Special
Casting Time: 2
Area of Effect: One creature/level
Saving Throw: None

Creatures affected by this spell are put to sleep for one hour. Upon awakening, the creature is as refreshed as if he had slept for eight hours. The affected person recovers lost hit points as if he rested for a full night. Wizards can memorize spells as if real time had passed.

Because the rest is so complete and rejuvenating, a character does not feel fatigued after waking. Attempts to use nap more than once in an 18-hour period are ineffective (the character simply is not sleepy). Only willing subjects can be affected by nap.

The material components are a scrap of pillow ticking, a feather, and a pebble that the caster has kept in his pocket for seven nights.

(I think that every Priest should have this spell )

Oh ok Cool

I knew it was an actual spell just could not remember where I found it. So it's 1 hour of rest not 4 that's even better for you spellcasters .
Ok Cleric's if you want the spell instead of one already prayed for I'll let you swap as It's my fault for forgetting it was a Clerical spell.
Nice find Red Sector.......................

Also seeing how he has posted in this thread, I guess it's ok to tell everyone that he and I are engaged!

Oh wait sorry not true, spur of the moment crazy joke .

No the real update here is that in a few months once the party gets to a town and it's plausible in the storyline Red Sector will be joining the game.

Soooo Post is up and I hope the small twist at the end makes it a good read.

A little peek????

With Aryeon taking a snooze, it might be enough time for Ulthok and Valene to take a peek at that treasure!!

Hey Val, wha'cha say, want go see if they have your hat?

And a Applaud to Red for Spell assist, good find.

Ooh new spells?

So are we allowed to memorize Tome of Magic stuff? (and research Tome of Magic spells in the case of magey types?)

Tell you what

Though I do have The Tome of Magic as part of the AD&D Computer program, I'm not that familiar with it. Case in point not knowing that's where the nap spell came from. So I'm gonna say that the spells contained within the Tome are forgotten/ancient magic. What this means is you have to find them, or as Ginafae asked, research them ingame as scrolls or from someone who was alive back then. So next time you find a scroll you can be sure it will be a spell or spells from the Tome of Magic. Give you spellcasters something to look forward to, but first ya got to look. I tell you this party has been the worst for finding loot in all the times I have run this adventure. So much things left behind `sigh`
As for the nap spell itself if I remember correctly it was first used by Dragon Mistress and she was the one who brought it to my and the parties attention.

Loot??????????????????

This has been a single minded, dedicated group to find the sword, that was their only treasure. Besides we have being fighting off your baddies and getting the heck out of Dodge before more show up, lol.

If I do remember Ulthok searched the lower level of the temple, finding the iron weapons but no loot!

With that evil outside I do believe it's time to check out the Giants stash, no need to rush into trouble. A good job for Ulthok , Val and maybe Cor or Lothor. The others need to attend to Ayreon and consider an exit strategy. We need to find Valene's magic hat, maybe cool rings and amulets. Ulthok will go for possible magic type of items, even books and scolls. Let the others go for the gold and weapons. Maybe find a bag of holding.

So my post is going to have him going. so if Kriea doesn't show for while can't get an assist on the loot location from Lothor?

Press the loot button...

I think there has been a tendency to not search room thoroughly before moving on (or even giving a cursory search). It becomes more and more important to do so, because we need every edge against the nasties Tann likes killing us with.

So, in that vein, an applaud for Ody for deciding to 'press the loot button'. *Sniffs* They grow up so quick...
