Don't mean to speak for Ody

I think Ody was referring to what Aliya posted she was doing with the flame arrow;

Between breaths she cast flame arrow toward the back of the orc's group.

so Ody probably meant something like...

I wonder if the fire in the back will just attract more Orcs?

Just my interpretation; I could be wrong.

kinda depends on tan?

it depends on what it ends up hitting...
but once were discovered were going to attract attention ..mostly unwanted.
and ody's post about the ice made good sense but i didn't read it till after i posted
i can change it if it seems over detrimental.

LOL.............

That's what happens when I try to sneak on at work and post fast.

HALL ...shesh..that wasn't even close was it???

------------------
We'll just keep posting and build on what has already been written. When Tann posts the map we can see how the Orcs are spread out. Ulthok was headed down the left side so it would make sense that he will target Orcs coming down that side. I would guess that Cor would suggest an attack by telling rest which side to take. Then from map we can tell which Orc to attack by number.

So far it seems both Barrell and Jessie are attacking the lead Orc. We have a fire behind the Orcs that may make them run faster at us. These guy will take a lot of damage to two on might be good as long as they don't hit each other.

Magic in the Walls.....

I clarified a bit about the "True Seeing" in the walls of the castle and so I posted how it can effect our magic.

It has taken away one of Ulthok's best attack modes. Time to try other methods.

Attacking

I would say that since the passage is 30' wide and I dont think the orcs would be attacking single file, therefore Lady Jessica would be next to Bareel but probably attacking a different Orc than him. Now if Tann states we could only reach and/or attack the Orc in the lead, then she would attack the same one. But she believes in giving a fellow warrior some room to kill, especially if he is a Raging Dwarf.

The Orcs.....

"8 of the giant Orcs fully outfitted for battle."

So what kind of Outfit? We can see the armor and that will effect the type of attack we use. Without further discription I would invision studded leather armor which can be pierced by arrows easier than metal plate. They would resemble Vikings.

Ok real quick

I'm in the process of creating the hallway map but realized I need a marching order. I need to get idea where the rest of the party is, minus Jessica, Barreel, Aliya and Ulthok as the Halfing thief was in front and the other three charged past him.

Soon as one of you can post such I can finish the map.

I'll take back...

Being three of our defenders were in the front, I guess Cor would be behind everyone else to cover them in case someone came from behind.

I'll have a post up tonight.

A Guess at Marching Order....

What I see in my minds eye looks more like a diamond formation as we spread out. Looking down the hall would be Barrel front and center, a couple of paces back Jessica to his left and Lothor coming up on his right.

Next in a line of sorts of casters Uthok far outside left then Weaver then Sirene and Aliya on the far right.

Behind them healers Valene to the left, Amara center and Rayne to the right.

Cor is center rear.

Ulthok and Aliya can do either magic or melee.

Also how far to the first doors? it 30 feet between doors so that will help with range.

Math Time...

So 70 yards to the hall between doors 2 &3. That 210 feet minus half of 15 (half of 30) could put the Orcs at door 2 or about 195 feet (65 yards).

Now if we knew how they charge we can pick targets.

Position

So, based on that map, Bareel would be attacking the one right in front of him (#1). That leaves #2 for the Paladin next to him, she should be safe at that distance.

Well...

Well I'm thinking Cor moves to cut off any orcs who manage to slip by our three people at the front, or fill in a gap in the line to prevent any orcs from getting past them. If not, I think he will wait by the other door to prevent any other reinforcements from coming.
