Peri

Raising Peri means Peri makes a survival roll each time it is done and it gets worse each time. Time limit to raise Peri is meaningless at our level as it would be in the hundreds of years.

Healing.........

This gets everyone back to full, but uses a bunch of spells and potions.

Aliya gets a Heal from Sirene.

Cor drinks his 2 potion and cast a cure light wounds on himself.

Rayne uses a heal on herself.

Valene drinks her potion uses a Cure Critial and gets a cure Critical from Sirene.

Ulthok got a potion from Lothor, gets Cure Critical Wounds from Sirene and a Cure Moderate from Cor.

Talca drinks his two potion and gets a gets Cure Moderate Wounds from Rayne.

Lothor gets a Heal from Valene.

Roan get a Cure Serious Valene, a Cure Serious from Rayne, two Cure Moderate from Cor.

Sirene can use her other Heal on herself.

We'd have 9 potions left so I say we pass them out so each member still has one on them.

Peri..........

As for Peri she still has some spells that can be helpful. I also think that it is in Valene's nature to to try and raise her. Valene has two raise spells so I'd say she'll use one before the party moves on.

Do we need a table vote?
I vote yes.

Healing and Peri

Healing list sounds good to me.

Cor votes no to raising Peri right now. He does not want to see her die multiple times and risk losing her forever.

We could also use a raise dead on that wizard. Might give added punch in a fight.

Healing and All

I'm good with the healing as laid out. Sorry, no time to check in this week.
As to the Rod, I think that we should hold off until we need it. Seems like a trick we'll only be able to pull once. Right now we have most of our spells, so we should be able to handle another encounter. Might have to replenish after though.

As to Peri, Siréne would vote to raise now only if it can be done without using the rod. Otherwise, we wait until we need the rod and use it then.

In terms of avoiding the beholders and dealing with them, Siréne has Veil prepared. That will allow us to move under the cloak of an illusion. Might offer us a chance.

Life and Otherwise

If we have multiple raise spells - and Valene;s character would raise Peri, then I think we do it. Lothor votes yes.

Healing looks good to me - thanks Ody.

Does it make sense to have an invisible Peri scout ahead?

How exactly would the veil spell work? If we want to use it to travel under an illusion we need to it expressed right away.

A heads up

Ok just a heads up bringing Peri back right now could be a bad idea for a number of reasons.

1) Her hit points even at full are not enough to save her if she takes a direct hit from what's coming.

2) If you raise her she will not have any spells readied. Just like any mage she needs time to learn them. She'd only have her innate abilities.

3) If you raise her now it would be a rushed attempt and have a higher % of failure. If you take your time say in a room with Valene or a high cleric and take it slow the chances are better.

4) Lastly she will not come back as your familiar but a separately raised creature. You 2 would have to bond all over again and right here there is no time to do so.

So in the end its a party call to raise now or later.....

Oh.........

Well that makes a big difference. If Peri has no spells then she would not be of any help. And if she might die quickly again it is not worth it to the party.

So I'll change my vote.

How about Lothor carries the body in his backpack? He is strong enough and should have plenty of room. And he's a really sweet guy.

Better Yet

The party has at least one Bag of Holding. Be easier to place her in there as she will be in a sort of magical time stasis. Remember if you do go back to the future because she is dead her body will age beyond the raise allowed time.

Might be worth thinking about.

Lothor is a sweet guy

Lothor would have happily (well, sadly actually, but willingly. You get the idea . . . ) carried the body. But the bag of holding is a good idea. Thanks for the info Tann.

Ok, so it seems we have a plan.
*No raise dead.
*Heal all according to Ody's great and awesome schedule.
* continue to move on very cautious in the face of the very ominous "what is coming."

The only question left is do we do anything special to prepare for what is coming? I'm still not sure what veil does. Otherwise, I'd suggested having an invisible Peri scout ahead, would an invisible somebody be a good idea if veil doesn't work? I'm assuming somebody has an ivisibility ability/spell somewhere, but I could be wrong. Or do we just plow on ahead as is traditional for head strong D&D parties everywhere?

Time

"Might be worth thinking about" Wink Wink Nudge Nudge, eh Tann?

I vote we hold Peri in the bag of holding for now. We can raise her if we rest in a rod of cancellation.

As to veil -

The veil spell enables the wizard to instantly change the appearance of their surroundings and party or create hallucinatory terrain so as to fool even the most clever magical creatures (unless the have the true seeing spell, a gem of seeing, or a similar magical aid). The veil can make a sumptuous room seem like a filthy den, even tactile impressions conform to the visual illusion. Likewise, a party might be made to resemble a mixed band of brownies, pixies, and faeries led by a treat. If hallucinatory terrain is created, touch does not cause it to vanish.

It's a pretty malleable spell that will respond appropriately to interaction. Siréne could veil the group to appear as some other creatures, or not to appear at all. We could all be invisible (and maintain that invisibility when attacking) as long as everyone remains within the area of effect (approx 300 ft). For Siréne it will last a few hours. What do you all think?

I have some work to finish up this morning and then will post.

Changes as we move?

That is quite a powerful illusion.

It sounds like we could look like an invisible hallway - and the illusion would morph with us as we move so that it contains doors and passages that we pass? If so, I strongly urge it's use.

Also, if we could find a good location - say someplace that was fairly open but has a good sized space to the side - we might try and set up an ambush if we can find a way to lure the beholders there.

I assume you have only one copy of the spell available. Once the spell wears off, that might be a time to use the rod. But a lot might have changed by then.

The Rod.....

I talked to Tann about the Rod and he said it has 35 charges so it has plenty of use.

I don't like the idea of an ambush, it could lure too many at one time. We need to hunt them down and knock them off one at a time. If we hit them hard and fast it seems we can take the out. Check all your power weapons and high damage items, they are needed to pull this off.

The veil sounds good to pass through the halls and Ulthok can go invisible as he checks the hall for traps and such.

Veil

The Veil is close to 300 cubic feet. Ulthok should stay within the area to avoid the cold.

Agree.....

Ulthok can tie off and still lead and search.
