The Expendables (2010)

I must say I just got back from the matinee showing of the new Sylvester Stallone movie and I must say I had a mangasm!!

For a lover of 80’s action flicks, as I am, and someone who grew up watching most of the stars in Movies and Wrestling, as I have, it was a damn good romp in chaos and mayhem with bits of comedy too. With talk of a 2nd movie already in the news I must say I’ll be there. If you love down and out action, with bits of humor, this movie is for you.

Actions sequences were awesome.

Dialogue was non-existant.

It's what I was expecting, and it was pretty manly.

Sweet...

...I'm supposed to go see that later this week. Glad to hear it's what I was hoping.

Thanks, Tann-mann!

It's rated R right?

It's rated R isn't it. Well I'm too young for that but we'll find a way to get in anyways.

I saw Expendables a week ago and can easily agree with Tann. The movie was every bit as good as I thought it would be. I'm sure no one would go see it expecting an intriguing storyline or amazing acting (though I thought the guys did just fine) or any surprises for that matter.

But as an old-school action movie fan, I got exactly what I was expecting. The good old (No, really. They're getting old.) big action stars in the same movie. I can imagine the fun the guys must of had shooting the film. Big guns, explosions, whole lotta shooting and martial arts. What else could you ask for? Oh yeah, mustn't forget beautiful women and bikes. Without going into further detail to spoil the movie for anyone, I'll just have to say: Go see it!

... and do NOT bring the wife/girlfriend along. She wouldn't understand why you're laughing when you are.

Sly, Arnie, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Stone Cold... No. I didn't miss Muscles for Brussels Van Damme, Chuck Norris or Steven Seagal. They just wouldn't have fit in the crew.

Just got back from seeing it. Honestly, it was pretty much exactly what I thought it was gonna be, aka action movie Smash Bros. Maybe less celebrity match-ups than I'd like, but that's less a complaint and more me wanting to see a Stalone-Lundregen rematch post-Rocky. Also, Terry Crews caber-tossing a tank shell? Classic. Mad props go to Stalone for thinking up a scenario that would be LESS manly if a tank was involved.
