Eep

Upon hearing those words, Saja swung around to get her hands back in place and pulled herself up from under the branches.

Looking around cautiously before giving a sigh of relief, she looked at the other trainers.

"Thanks- That could have been bad."

hmph!

For once in his life, Dan felt sure-footed and solid where he came to stand. For the time being, anyway, sure enough to break his concentration from Iris long enough to lock eyes with the new stranger.

With a gleem of annoyance and suspicion in his eye, (or was it focus?)he said to the new girl,"Well, now that one of us has stuck their neck out on the line for you two, would you mind telling us what that was all about? I mean, you might want to tell us something before those pokemon that were released or their police owners return, find you, and they tell us. That is after they clap my friend Norman here in irons for obstructing justice and misleading an investigation."

the truth...

Releasing her Abra from his ball again, She lifted him onto her shoulders and looked at the annoyed trainer.

"It was a misunderstanding because of HIM!" She pointed an accusing finger at the Abra, who hid behind her head bashfully.

"We were at the pokemart and this guy saw some treats on the top shelf, and decided to make them his. Not only did he knock over everything in the process, but the shop didn't look kindly on attempted theft."

While technically true, Saja decided to leave the whole 'she planned the theft' part out of the story. It's not like she lied to the boy, she just excluded some facts.

Turning her head to try and glare at the Abra, she sighed in annoyance.
"Look- sorry about that. Thanks for getting me out of a jam though."

No problem

Norman looked at the young girl when he gave his response, “It was not hard, but the penalties could be dire for me if we get caught.” Norman then turned to Iris, worried about what this may have done to affect the start of their trip. “Perhaps we should make haste to get through this village. If we stay too long, I could get thrown in jail, for the charges Dan has just mentioned.”

All-in-all, Norman did not feel bad or guilty about having aided the female in her plight. He knew somehow that it was the right thing to do. He just hoped that he could avoid the judicial consequences for such an act based on a hunch.
